《TNS Piper Season 8 (Must Read)》Oneshot #4: James finds out

Piper's POV:
"We have to tell him, Pipes." Finn said, holding my hand as we sat on a bench in a beautiful park, overlooking a vast, blue lake.
"I know, if we leave it longer, he'll find out and kill us." I replied, shuddering at the thought of telling James.
Finn and I had been dating for a week and we were talking about how to tell James. I felt really reluctant, not because I didn't want him to know but because he would probably kill Finn for, one, dating me and two, the whole drama between me, him and Amy.
"How about tomorrow night, you can come over for dinner?" I suggested before facepalming myself, in realisation.
My dad. I'm not telling only James but my dad too.
"Yeah, sure, then I can meet your whole family." Finn said, excitedly, as I stared at him with my mouth hanging open. "But my family's crazy, especially when it comes to boys!" I said, but Finn just laughed.
"When you met my family, I thought that Cierra and my dad would scare you away with all of their embarrassing stories, but you're still here. So don't worry, it won't be that bad." He said, trying to be optimistic but I just really didn't want to be embarrassed in front of Finn.
I smiled fondly, at the memory of Finn's older sister, Cierra telling me all about what Finn did as a kid and his little sister, Annalise, showing me all of her cool toys. His parents were super funny and reminded me of my own.
"Okay, okay. Tomorrow it is. I just hope you can handle the craziness of my family." I said, laughing as he chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"What's the worst thing that you can imagine happening at the dinner?" Finn asked, as I paused to think about it. "My dad pulling out my baby pictures and James killing you." I said with a smile on my face.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure to kiss you before I die." He said, as we both laughed. We stayed at the park, talking and laughing, before Finn dropped me off at home.
I took a deep breath in before opening the door. Only my mum knew about me and Finn dating and the dinner tomorrow but I had to break it to the others tonight and I was not looking forward to it.
After getting changed, I walked past my mum to the other living room where my dad and my siblings were. She gave me a wink and pushed me, encouragingly, into the direction of the rest of my family.

"Hey guys." I said, as I got a lot of "hey"'s back. "Pipes, can you believe that in all of dad's years on earth, he has never watched Harry Potter?! He hasn't even read the book!" Julia said, utterly outraged as the rest of my siblings tried to tell him the plot of the all the movies.
"Guys, I have to tell you something." I called out in the middle of their discussion, as my mum turned up out of nowhere and sat down in an armchair, watching on in amusement.
"Dad, James. You're gonna have to sit down for this." I said, shaking my head gently. They all looked at me with concern and confusion as I took a deep breath in.
"I have a boyfriend and he's coming over for dinner, tomorrow evening." I said, holding my breath and waiting for their reactions.
Suddenly, my two older sisters started squealing and screaming and congratulating me. My dad started groaning and holding his chest as if he was dying and James clenched his fists, shouting things such as,
"What?"
"How?"
"Why? Can't you wait for like another 50, 60 years?", to which I rolled my eyes and sighed, telling them to stop being so dramatic.
"Who's the unlucky guy?" James asked as I glared at him while he laughed. "It's Finn, you met him at the christmas party. " I said, hopefully. James seemed to like Finn at the Christmas party.
"What?! So behind my back, he was trying to get with my little sister?" He asked as I rolled my eyes. "Quit being so dramatic, James. You too, dad." I said, as dad rolled his eyes back at me.
"It's okay, Pipes. We're all excited to meet your 'boyfriend' tomorrow evening." He said with speechmarks around the word, boyfriend, before kissing my head.
"What? Seriously dad? Come on, you've got to be kidding me! You too, mum?!" James cried out, following my dad out of the room.
I was bombarded with questions from my sisters and I answered them all whilst laughing; at least they weren't going crazy overprotective. My mum was just as excited and my dad was surprisingly calm but I bet he's already got the baby pictures lined up and ready to go.
Once I was in my room, I dialled Finn's number and explained it all to him, smiling as I listened to him laugh. Soon, I fell asleep, dreading the dinner.
The next day:
It was just after 5pm and I had just finished dressing myself, with my hair curled nicely. Everyone was ready and I helped my dad and siblings set up the table.

At 5:30 on the dot, I heard a knock and excitedly jumped up. "Finn's here!" I shouted happily as my dad spat out his water.
"What, he's a real guy?!" He asked, shocked as I rolled my eyes.
Seriously?!
"I thought he was an imaginary guy and we were doing this dinner to support you and your imaginary boyfriend." My dad said, genuinely shocked that I had an actual boyfriend.
My mouth fell wide open as I stared at my dad who shrugged innocently. "What?! That was one time when I was 8!" I yelled, blushing in embarrassment at the memory.
I walked, more like stomped all the way to the door and swung it open. I instantly calmed down as I saw Finn, looking really cute, all dressed up.
"Hey Finn, you look great." I said, smiling happily as I welcomed him into my house. "Thanks Pipes, you look beautiful as always." He replied as I blushed. He laughed and kissed me only to be interrupted when James cleared his throat.
"Hi, I'm James." He grumbled, gripping onto Finn's hand in a handshake. I elbowed him to let go of Finn's hand, which he did as he glared at me.
The dinner went smoothly and my family, including my dad and James had a good time with Finn; he acted like he had known my family for years, which made me really happy.
But I think my dad sensed my happiness because he decided that, that was the perfect time to bust out the pictures.
"And this was her when she was 5 and tried to dress herself!" My dad said, as everyone bursted out laughing as I just scowled at them all. "You were really cute as a kid, Pipes." Finn said and I couldn't help but smile and laugh along with him. He was right, I did make a really cute baby.
My family were all okay with me and Finn dating, so that was a great end to the dinner. It could've gone worse, James could've wanted to talk to Finn.
"I'm so glad, you came round today." I said as I walked him to the door. "I'm glad I came too. You're family's great!" He exclaimed as I laughed. I leaned in, just about to kiss him when James interrupted us again.
"Hey Finn, can we talk?" He asked, as my eyes widened. Oh no. Not the talk. "Sure." Finn said, oblivious to the fact that James was going to threaten him. They walked towards the living room, as everyone else was still in the dining room, and I made to follow them.
"Um, Pipes, you can stay right here." James said, smirking as I stomped my foot like a child, and reluctantly waited outside the room, my ear pressed up against the door.
"Listen, you're a great guy and my sister seems happy with you, but I've got a few rules." I heard James say as I smiled slightly.
"Okay, number 1, you hurt my sister, I kill you. If I see any and I mean any tears from her because of you, just know that you lived a great life on earth.
Number 2, keep your hands to yourself, and keep the kissing to a minimum, if you don't, I'll kill you.
And number 3, no babies. If she gets pregnant, I'll kill you, then I'll revive you 'cus you've got responsibilities to take care of. Do I make myself clear?" He listed before asking as I groaned and hit my head on the wall.
I mean, getting pregnant, really, James?
"Yes, Sir! I'll take great care of your sister, I love her with all my heart." I heard Finn say as I smiled happily at his words. The door opened but only James walked out. I shoved him out of the way and walked into the room, but Finn wasn't in there.
"Did you kill him? Oh no, you did, didn't you?! How am I going to tell his parents? What about his hoodies? How are we going to bail you out of jail again?" I asked, rambling on as Finn appeared beside me, his face red from trying and failing to hold in his laughter.
"Relax Pipes, I'm fine. I just went to use your toilet. I love how if James killed me, you would be most worried about my hoodies!" Finn said, laughing as I sighed in relief.
At least, he's not dead!
"Yeah and what do you mean, bail you out of jail AGAIN?" James asked me, as I shrugged.
"Sorry, it happened in my dream when I was thinking about how this dinner would go." I replied, sheepishly as my brother and boyfriend stared at me, before doubling over in laughter.
"I told you everything would be fine." Finn said, smiling as I opened the door.
"I know, I know. I should listen to you more often." I said, as we both laughed.
"I love you, Pipes." Finn said before kissing me.
"I love you too."
