Your life flashes before your eyes

And in that moment, you realize

You wasted your whole time

Being alive.

My children didn't bring me true happiness

My husband tried to leave the nest

My rage got the best of me,

He put my anger to the test

And a body got laid to rest.

I wonder what it would like to be born rich.

To worry about a thing.

Not wondering where the next meal would come from

Being able to buy a dress to go to prom

I wonder what it would have been

Not to be a maid

For the man I loved

My bedroom he raid-

My heart he took

Crushed it with a hook

Left me shocked and shaken

I'm no queen

No angel

No God

I've made it through life

Not committing a fraud

And when the blade

Pierced my skin

I realized at life, I did not win
