****Roman****

"Yeah I'm fine Patton, I'm alive aren't I?" Roman leaned against the wall.

"That's not what I mean, you could have died! Did you lose air? Was it terrifying?" Roman looked around the building and then started walking home.

"Yes, I was terrified. The water was filling up the chest so fast but I knew that if I panicked that it would make things worse and I would die quicker that way... I didn't expect..." Roman stopped talking and sighed. He wasn't going to tell Patton about Logan. "I didn't expect some random stranger to save my ass like they did. I could have been killed!" He continued to walk and sighed when he reached the bridge over the brook, knowing he had to cross over it to get home. He bit his lip. The rain was pelting the ground around him making everything wet. "I just realized how scared I am of water..."

"Contact your parents Roman, come to my place and we can stay together until you can get home safe."

"Patton I can't just not go... I have to cross the bridge..." Roman looked down.

"Roman I swear to god if you cross that bridge-."

"I'll be fine Patton." Roman went to go walk across but stopped as the water from the brook splashed up at him. He screamed and accidentally dropped his phone into the water. "Fuck!" He stood there on the bridge as the rain pelted down on him. He collapsed to the ground and screamed as he curled up halfway on the bridge. This nightmare was going to be the end of him.

****Present****

"GAH!" Roman popped up and started to cry. His bedroom door opened and Janus ran in carrying a bat. Roman chuckled. "A...A bat? Really Janus?"

"You alright?" He asked.

"Just a nightmare about something from when I was a teen..." Roman looked down at his hands. "Did I ever tell you the story about how I became friends with Logan?"

"No, but I'd love to hear it." Janus sat down besides Roman and Roman told him about Logan saving him from drowning. "And did you...how did Logan get away from that fucker?"

"Well..."

****a few years ago***

"Roman we talked about this I... I can not leave him he'll just kill you. Now if you excuse me if I'm late, he'll get mad at me." Logan went to walk away but Roman grabbed his arm.

"Patton!" Roman shouted. Patton ran out of one of the rooms and came over helping Roman. "We will not stand for this! He's hurting you Logan!"

"ITS BETTER THAN HIM HURTING YOU!" Logan shoved them both away. "HE ALMOST DROWNED YOU BECAUSE YOU STOOD UP FOR ME ROMAN!"

"Logan no, I will not let you sit here and go back to that abusive toxic relationship! You break up with him! You do it and you do it right fucking now." Roman growled.

"He isn't going to do as you say, Roman." Mack walked over and wrapped his arms around logan. "Are you babe?" Logan looked down.

"N-No I'm not." Patton growled.

"That's it!" Patton screamed as loud as he could and a bunch of teachers came out from their classrooms to see what was wrong.

"Mr. Hart?" One of them asked.

"Help! He's crazy!" Patton grabbed Roman and pulled him back. "He just threatened us after threatening Logan!"

"This true Logan?" She asked.

"Oh come on, we are just rehearsing for a play!" Mack glared at Roman and Patton. "Besides don't you teachers ever pay attention? This here is my boyfriend Logan." Mack held Logan tighter and Roman growled. Logan nodded.

"Y-Yeah he's my boyfriend." Logan looked away.

"Well, get going boys. You are all late." One of them shook their head at Patton and Roman. As they all left Roman glared at Mack.

"What do you plan on doing now asshole?" He growled.

"Logan and I were going to skip class anyways, going to have a little fun." Mack wrapped his arms around Logan and then pulled him close. "Bye boys." Logan glanced back as Mack dragged him away from Roman. He felt useless. He couldn't even save Logan.

***end of flashback***

"So he didn't even get free the first few times you tried?" Janus asked. Roman sighed.

"Unfortunately it took Logan until we graduated to finally get away from him and get Mack arrested for abuse and drug possession..." Janus looked at Roman shocked.

"Logan stayed with him that long?" Roman nodded.

"He was afraid that Mack would kill us." Roman shook his head. "Yeah I agree, absolutely ridiculous." Roman looked at his phone and then at Janus. "Why the hell are you awake?"

"I'm worried about everyone else, I don't think that dad went there to just go there to check on Logan I think somethings wrong..." Janus sat down beside roman on the bed. "I'm scared something is happening and this time we can't stop it..." Roman held him.

"I mean I hated Logan's mother after I learned why she was arrested but I'm sure....I'm sure things are fine. She's an old women now and she's had jail time I'm sure she wouldn't..." Roman looked back at Janus. "Okay yeah no, grab your phone let's go." Janus nodded and the two got up and ran for the door.

***Logan***

They say together outside talking to the police about what had happened. Logan looked at Remus and then back to the officer who was explaining that technically Remus was an escapee from the mental hospital.

"I understand officer, I never said I wasn't going to go back you know." Remus looked at Logan and smiled then back at the officer who now held handcuffs. "Just uhm...can we not handcuff me? Trigger." He explained quickly. The officer gave him a weird look.

"Officer, he could have a panic attack if you handcuff him." Logan explained. The officer went to handcuff him anyways and Logan immediately pulled Remus away. "Dude what the hell!?" He growled. "I'm not just gonna let you handcuff him after we told you not to!"

"He's mental!! We don't know what he's capable of so handcuffs go on now." The officer went to handcuff Remus again but Logan slapped them away. "Do you want to be arrested for assault against a cop?"

"Just stop it! He's willing to go just don't arrest him like some criminal!" Logan glared at him. "Remus is perfectly sane.."

"Right, an escapee from a mental hospital is totally sane." Remus glared.

"The only reason I'm an escapee is because I was fucking kidnapped!" He growled. "Besides that, I was the one who put myself in there so I can easily check myself out."

"You weren't kidnapped, you walked right out the door." The Officer glared. Logan looked at Remus and Remus shook his head.

"Logan I didn't!" He stepped back. "I told you I wouldn't ever hurt anyone ever again I promised!"

"And I believe you." Logan nodded and reached for remuss hand. "Don't worry. Now you, get the fuck away from him." Logan glared at the officer. "He's going back but not with you."

"He is mental. He needs to go back, with police not with you." The cop glared. "What are you mental? Come on stalkholm syndrome or something..."

"Are you fucking serious?" Logan shook his head and walked away from the cop. "You are an asshole. Goodbye." They walked into the house and Logan grabbed his phone and called Patton. "Patton should be here to get me soon..." Remus nodded.

"I'll stay until you leave and then I'll start heading back.." Remus looked down at his hands. "Thanks for stopping him."

"You helped me get away from my parents, besides I don't think you need to go back there...maybe you should look into leaving." Logan smiled. "Now before you start to say that I'm going crazy-."

"You are." Remus laughed. "But thanks Logan. That means a lot."

"As I said earlier, your assumption was correct." Logan looked back at Remus. "And I can tell you've changed." The bell rang and Logan immediately opened the door. Patton pulled him into a hug.

"Thank god you are alright! I was so worried!" Patton shouted. Virgil, Roman and Janus entered the room after Patton.

"Thank god they didn't hurt you anymore.." Virgil walked over and hugged Logan tightly. Logan held Virgil even tighter.

"I'm glad they didn't touch you." Logan whispered to Virgil. Virgil shook his head.

"I promise you they didn't dad, hey.." Virgil looked over and saw Remus. Logan looked at him and then back at Virgil.

"Virgil look he-."

"Thanks for saving him." Virgil nodded his head. "You could have easily went back into your old ways but you didn't, and you saved him."

"Logan, are you doing okay?" Roman asked. Logan laughed and looked over at Roman.

"You've known me for how long and you are just now asking me this?" Logan walked over and hugged him. "It wasn't as bad as high school, and I was more worried when Patton and Virgil showed up...then they got Remus too so I just..." Logan looked at everyone. "I thought it was my fault."

"Logan..." Remus bit his lip and looked away.

"Group hug?" Patton asked. Everyone laughed and wrapped their arms around eachother. Remus took a few steps away from them as they embraced eachother. He smiled at Logan when they all pulled away.

"Hey uh...can someone bring me back?" Remus asked. "I kind of don't want to be arrested for being an escaped mental patient..."

"I called the hospital Remus, I told them that you will be staying with me." Roman said. Everyone turned to Roman shocked. "What? He's my brother. I may not like what he's done but...you are in no way going back to that hospital."

"And why not?" Patton asked. Logan smacked pattons arm.

"I've visited a few times.." Roman admitted. "And I hated the way they treated their patients! Half the time I was there he was dragged up and in bed not even aware I was there!"

"Roman-."

"No Remus, you are not going back there and I'm not letting you tell me otherwise this isn't up for debate."

"But it was helping!" Remus shouted. "I was...I was away from you I...I was away from the thoughts...the bad memories..." Remus started to cry.

"Remus..." Remus broke down and fell to the ground in tears.

"I don't want to end up that way again..." Logan looked at the others.

"He could just be-."

"Patton, do me a favor and just shut up for a second okay?" Logan walked over and kneeled down besides Remus.

"I can't..." Remus started crying harder.

"Just because you will be around us, doesn't mean you'll hurt us Remus. You'll be okay, you can handle this I know you can..." Logan reached out his hand. "So? You going to take the chance? We are willing to do this if you are..." Remus looked up and then looked at everyone else.

"But I..clearly not everyone is willing-." Patton sighed.

"You have one shot. That's all I'm giving you. Three strikes and you go right back there." Patton glared at Logan. "I'm trusting you on this." Patton turned on his heels and walked out of the house.

"I'll go talk to him..." Janus walked out after Patton. Logan looked at Remus and then at Roman.

"You stay, I'll go help Janus calm Patton down..." Roman left the house and Remus, Virgil and him sat down on the couch.

****Patton****

Patton walked out of the house and stood by the car. He put his head in his hands and sighed.

"Dad..." Janus walked over and Patton looked up. "Look, you don't need to get mad at everyone else for trusting him..."

"Janus are you serious right now? HE RUINED OUR LIVES!" Patton glared at him.

"I fucking know that!" Janus growled. "But did you not see him back there? Clearly he's gotten therapy and is trying to be better, even if you can't forgive him for what he's done...the least you can try and do is help him get better! You didn't act like-."

"I kept things to myself Janus, he deserves all the hate I give him I don't care anymore I can't just pretend that I like him, because I don't. I can't stand him." Patton glared at Roman as he exited the house and stood behind Janus. "I cant believe you Roman..."

"Patton, he's clearly-."

"Unwell? Yeah I know! He deserves to fucking rot!" Roman huffed.

"Patton, I've seen the way that hospital is." Roman looked back at the door. "I know he's better, even if you can't trust him...trust me?" Roman turned back to face Patton. Patton glared.

"Hell no." Patton started to walk away.

"DAD WATCH OUT!" Patton turned back to face them and realized too late he was in the middle of the road. He heard tires screeching and suddenly he was laying on the ground in pain. (

"DAD!" pattons vision became blurry and he looked up at Janus as he held his hand. "Come on please...please don't leave..."

"Patton!" Roman ran over and Patton looked up at him. "Please...the ambulance is coming please fight it..."

"I..." Roman shook his head.

"Patton please..."

"I trust you..." pattons eyes closed and he felt weightless.

***Remus***

Tires screeched outside and everyone froze. Virgil ran to the window and screamed.

"Virgil what happened?" Logan asked.

"A car just hit Patton!" Logan immediately started calling 911 and he ran outside. Remus looked at Virgil who was staring at the window in shock. "He's gonna be okay right?" Virgil looked up at Remus. Remus laughed.

"Dude he's survived worse..." Remus walked over and Virgil flinched back. Remus stepped away and looked out the window. "Sorry, got too close." Virgil shook his head.

"S-Sorry the accident-."

"You don't have to explain yourself Virgil, it's fine." Remus looked out the window again and then back at virgil. "If you need to I can leave you alone..."

"Yeah, no." Virgil looked out the window and then closed the curtains. "If you go out there, there's a chance they might arrest you..."

"Okay but-."

"I'm fine Remus." Virgil walked away from the window and sat down on the couch. "As soon as logan comes back inside we'll all head to the hospital and then leave this horrible house...besides it's just memories..." Remus looked away.

"Yeah, bad ones that involve me. Being around you isn't smart I-."

"Will you just shut up?" Virgil huffed.

"I'm just trying to protect you I don't want you to go into an attack and having me here wouldn't help it'll just make it worse for you..." Remus looked at the door and then sighed as he sat down next to Virgil. "I don't want you to be hurt physically or mentally and being here won't help that mental part now will it? When they come back inside to bring you guys to the hospital to see Patton I'm going okay? I'm not staying with you guys I can't do that to you..."

"Will you even be alright on your own? Where the hell will you stay?" Remus rolled his eyes.

"Virgil, seriously? I'm an-."

"Nope." Virgil folded his arms across his chest. "Paybacks a bitch." Remus looked down and saw he had handcuffed him to the couch. His eyes widened and he tried to keep his heartbeat steady.

"How the fuck..." he joked as he looked up at Virgil.

"You know, it's not that hard to trick someone." Virgil smirked.

"Crazy kid...." Remus looked at the door when it opened. Roman raised his eyebrow.

"Okay what the fuck did you do now?" Roman looked at Remus.

"Can you get him to Unhandcuff me?" Remus asked gesturing at Virgil. "The little shit won't let me leave."

"Why leave?" Roman asked. Logan entered the house and looked between the two.

"Why is Remus chained to the couch exactly?" Logan asked. Remus gestured at Virgil.

"Ask your son." Remus looked over at Virgil.

"Payback?" Virgil chuckled.

"We need to go see Patton come on, unchain him." Roman gestured at the cuffs.

"No." Virgil glared at Remus. "You going to tell them or should I?"

"Tell us what? What happened when we were outside?" Logan stood near Virgil protectively.

"Relax Logan." Remus looked at Virgil. "He doesn't want me to leave, apparently he doesn't trust I'll be fine on my own."

"I don't trust it either, you are my brother Remus and you've done some pretty insane things...I don't want to risk you going back into the real world and fucking up all the progress you made." Roman mumbled. Remus looked down.

"You really think that little of me huh?" Remus felt tears falling down his face. He knew he would never deserve their trust but to hear Roman say it after telling him he believed in him, hurt. Remus looked up. "I hate you. I seriously hate all of you!" He was now crying heavily but he didn't care. "I am better but I don't want to be around you! I don't want to be the reason you all have flashbacks or attacks! I just-." Roman slapped him.

"Fucking shut up!" Roman shouted. Remus looked up at them.

"Roman!" Logan shouted. Everyone went silent. Remus looked up at them.

"Go see Patton assholes." Remus glared at them. "I'll find my own way out of this shit hole." Remus struggled against the handcuffs.

"Remus stop!" Virgil walked over and held him so he couldn't cut his wrist with the handcuffs.

"Fuck all of you." Remus shoved Virgil away. "Just uncuff me, and let me go." He shook the tears away.

"Oh god Remus I forgot! I'm so sorry!" Logan ran over and grabbed the keys from Virgil. "Shit! Shit! Shit! Remus hey focus focus-." Remus shook his head and started crying harder.

"I hate you..." he leaned into Logan and shook as memories flooded his head. He couldn't stop them. He knew Logan was talking to him but he couldn't hear the words and suddenly he was trapped inside a memory.

"Duke, come." Remus looked up at the open door and uncurled himself from the ball he was laying down in.

"It's Remus." Remus glared at her. "Does my family know about this being a-a..."

"A what?" She walked over to him and he backed away from her.

"Don't you touch me..." Remus backed away even more as she got even closer. She laughed and placed her hand on his knee.

"Finish your sentence there dukey." She giggled.

"A fucking whore house! You are fucking crazy!" Remus tried to shove her away but she suddenly shoved him down and laid on top of him so she was holding his arms above his head. He started to cry. "Crazy bitches."

"Hey now Remus, you work for us now. Daddy sold you to us." Remus scoffed.

"He would never." Remus glared.

"He knows who we are silly, he doesn't care about you. He never has. They sent you away to be sold off as...what did you call it? A whore." She laughed as she played with his hair. "Welcome to 'the whore house' Remus. Your new home." Remus shook his head.

"He wouldn't-."

"It was either you, or Roman." Remus looked up at her in shock. "He lost against our boss, and the only way to pay his debt now...was to sell one of his boys to us. Now we wanted Roman but he refused." Remus felt tears falling down his face faster. He knew his family hated him but selling him off and forcing him into this just because his father owed money? That was some fucked up shit.

"H-How long will I be stuck here?" Remus asked.

"Hmm let's see...he did lose a lot, so maybe around...five years?" Remus shook his head.

"No! No please I can't! Please let me go please anything please!" She got off of Remus and he pulled away from her.
