《Gentleman ♡》29) "Kaleel...hey."

After last night, I needed a little space from everyone, even Pac.
Jada and Will spent the night because I didn't want them driving all the way home at such a late hour. I snuck out while everyone was asleep and decided to take a walk around a park in our neighborhood.
It feels like I haven't had alone time like this in forever.
I sit down on a bench and cross my legs, fixing my sweater a little.
The weather is perfect today, not cold, just a little windy, and the sun is giving just the right amount of warmth.
What my mom said to me is still stuck in my head. But Lesane wouldn't use me.. after all we've been through there's no way he would even think of treating me badly... I guess.
I don't understand why she's always so angry with me. It's like I can never be good enough for her. She treats Andrew like he's perfect and he's the biggest screw up I know.
When I graduated college, the plan was to become a doctor, or atleast that was my mom's plan. I never wanted to be a doctor, or nurse of anything in the medical field. But she was always pushing me towards that. So when I graduated, I told myself that I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't do something that I never wanted to do.
I found a job at the bank and I actually liked it.
I remember her being so pissed at me. We didn't speak for months and she never even checked on me when I moved out and got my apartment at first. Eventually she stopped being childish, but she obviously still has a problem with me.
I just don't know what it is.
I was an idiot for thinking we could all be civil for one night. Hell, Pac told me that and I should've listened.
A red bird catches my eye, I blow a kiss at it like my grandma always told me to. She said it's good luck or something.
"Some thangs never change." A voice says, making me look to the right of me.
My heart drops into my stomach.
"Kaleel.. hey." My eyes roam over his very toned, shirtless torso, sending shivers down my body.
"Youn seem too happy to see me." He chuckles, his breathing a little heavy. He tosses a short towel over his shoulder. "What are you doing here?" I ask, making him smirk at me.
"I should ask you the same thang. You just up and disappeared on me after we graduated." He says, I cross my legs tightly, fighting all the flashbacks of everything I let this man do to my body.. this man.. is the devil.
"I was-"
"Engaged, I know. Never stopped you from spending a couple nights a week with me though." He chuckles, I look away from him, suddenly feeling really hot.

"So how is what's his name?" He asks, a playful tone in his voice.
"I don't know. We split a long time ago." I lie, not wanting to explain that he died.
Kaleel smiles. "Adrienne Walker. Single? I can't believe that." He says, "So who's the new nigga?" He sits down next to me, making me scoot over slightly.
"That's none of your business." I say, rolling my eyes.
"So there is one huh?" He rests his elbow on his knee and his chin in his hand, smiling at me boyishly with that pretty smile of his. "Yes, there is." I say, trying my best to keep my eyes off of him.
Kaleel has always been pure temptation to me, even when I was engaged and I loved my man to the moon and back, I just couldn't stay away from him. He always knew what to say to get me to skip class or sneak over to his dorm at night.
He's trouble, and he knows it.
"You still fine. Real fine.." He licks his lips at me. I get up abruptly.
"I should go. He's probably awake and wondering where I am." I say, Kaleel gets up too.
"You should come over to my place, let me cook something nice for you, so we can catch up.. it's been a couple years babe." He says, walking a little closer to me. The smell of his sweat heightens my senses, remembering all those times he was on top of me... his beads of sweat dripping on me.. fuck.
"That's not a good idea." I say, stepping back.
"Why not? Just two old friends catching up." He says, drying off his face and neck with the towel. "You got a pen?" He asks.
"Umm. Yea." I say, reaching into my purse and fumbling around a little until I find it.
He takes it from my hands and grabs one of my wrists. He pushes my sleeve up just enough to write his number on my forearm.
I almost jump out of my skin when he blows on the ink softly. "Wouldn't want it to rub off." He smirks, before fixing my sleeve.
"If you down, call me in a couple hours. I'll see what I can whip up for you."
I laugh nervously, my voice seeming to be caught in my throat.
He chuckles at me before turning on his heels and continuing his jog.
Oh God.
Tupac
"Yall sleep in different rooms? That's weird man."
I wake up to Jada in my face.
"Man what are you doing? What time is it?" I groan, looking over at the clock.
"Goodmorning to you too, it's Nine-twenty." She says, sitting on the edge of the bed. Her and Will stayed the night in our guest room last night because of how late everything ended, and Adrienne insisted that they shouldn't drive home so late.

"Why the fuck is you up?"
"I'm a early bird. I thought maybe you'd be up. You used to be one too." She says, making me roll my eyes and turn over away from her.
"You wanna tell me what all that was last night between you and Ms.Afeni?" She asks, making me suck my teeth.
"Nope."
"Last time I heard, yall was doing alright. When you start talking to yo mama like she another nigga on the street?" She laughs.
"Since she started acting like one. I ain't finna keep dealing with her shit, and Sek starting to act just like her." I say, sitting up.
"Well have you tried talking to Sek? She loves you Pac. You had to have done something to that girl to make her act like that." Jada says, making me suck my teeth. I get up from my bed, knowing I won't be able to go back to sleep with her loud mouth around.
"I ain't do shit to that girl."
"Yea whatever. And what's the deal with Dri's mom ? She's a real asshole too." She says.
"I don't know, igh? Let's stop talking about it." I say, pulling a shirt over my head and going into my bathroom. I close the door behind me.
"You never told me why you and Adrienne sleep in different rooms!" Jada yells from outside of the door.
I just shake my head and let out a breath.
By the time I get myself together and leave my room, Will and Jay are downstairs in the kitchen, warming up left overs. "When the fuck yall leaving? Greedy mothafuckas." I say, walking over to the fridge and grabbing a orange Sunkist.
"In about an hour, I went to Adrienne's room to let her know but she wasn't in there. Her car's gone, she probably needed to run some errands." Jada says. "Or she needed to get away from his black ass." Will jokes, making me suck my teeth.
"Shut up Dumbo."
Where would she even go this early in the day?
I sit down at the table with them, listening to them talk about their plans for when they get home. I've always admired their relationship, they make it look so easy.
I hear the front door open, not long after Adrienne comes into the kitchen.
"Hey." She says, seeming to avoid eye contact with me.
"Where you been?" I ask, folding my arms over my chest.
"I just needed some air. I went to that park two blocks over." She says, before sitting down in the seat next to me. My eyes roam over her clothes, for some reason it bothers me that she went out like that, but I don't say anything.
"We were just telling Pac that we'll be heading out in a hour or so. Did you wanna go to the mall or something with me before I go?" Jada asks, before stabbing her fork into her greens and taking a big bite.
"Umm. Yea. Actually that would be great." Dri says, getting up from the table. "Just give me a sec." She adds, before going upstairs.
I furrow my eyebrows.
She's being weird.
I decide to follow her. When I get upstairs her door is closed, I turn the knob but it's locked.
"Baby?" I knock.
Adrienne cracks the door. "Yea?"
"Why you got the door locked? What you doing in here girl?" I laugh, pushing my way in slightly. Her shower is running and she is half dressed.
"I was just about to take a quick shower." She says, taking off the rest of her clothes, making me close the door behind me. My eyes roam over her body. I walk over to her, pulling her body against mine. "You should've told me you was leaving, had me a lil worried." I say.
"Yea.. I'm sorry. I just needed some air."
I kiss her neck softly, my hands gripping her ass firmly.
"Pac.. stop." She breathes out, while leaning into my touch.
I smile slightly against the soft skin of her cheek before kissing it. Adrienne starts to pull on my clothes making me pull away from her and take off my shirt. She rushes me, her hands fumbling with my shorts. "Baby slow down.." I chuckle, grabbing her hands.
She furrows her eyebrows at me briefly before her expression changes altogether.
"I'm sorry." She says, "I don't want Jada waiting too long for me." Dri adds before grabbing a towel and washcloth from one of her drawers.
"Raincheck?" I smirk, making her chuckle a little.
"Duh." She laughs, before going into the bathroom and closing the door.
Just as I'm leaving the room, a sheet of paper catches my eye. It has a phone number on it. I half want to write it down and see who it is, but I decide not to, wanting to respect her privacy.
Jada meets me at the top of the stairs.
"Is she coming?" She asks, I nod slowly.
"Yea, just give her a lil bit. She taking a shower." I say.
Jada chuckles before skipping back down the stairs.
"She better hurry up."

The Good Necromancer
Hundreds of years ago, shortly after the Great Cataclysm which destroyed the Ancient World, was the Age of Heroes. One of these great heroes started off in the most hated profession of the time, Necromancer. Join him and his comrades as they accomplish the first of the Good Necromancers legendary tasks. ***** So, quick update for those who pay attention to this section. I'm finally coming out of finals for this semester, and I plan on getting the whole already posted section revised. It's taken me a while to change the necessary things, as I had to start all the way over, but I've at least got the rough drafts for all the revised chapters. These should be going up within the next week or so, still have to go to work, but I am here, I haven't forgotten or dropped the story. Just trying to make this the best work that I can produce. P.S. I will be releasing additional stories. They are all going to be in the Good Necromancer world, however the others will give you an idea on how humans in other locations survived and have thrived. Or not. =)

The Villain's Double Life
“The Villain’s Double Life as the Hero’s Mentor," “Demon Nobles Want to Live Too: A Hero-Raising Simulator for the Transmigrated Villain," “Just Because I’m a Villain Doesn’t Mean I Want the World to End!” Cyrus Calvide was the second son of an aristocratic lord; haughty, vain and power-hungry. One day, when his ancestral inheritance manifested, he discovered he was able to steal other’s powers and abilities using demonic magic. Taking this as a sign that he was destined to rule over others and become the new king of this land, he poisoned his father, killed his elder brother, and embarked on the path to greatness, taking advantage of a demonic invasion to consolidate power and harvest the abilities of others in a cruel and bloody fashion. Until he was summarily defeated by the Hero as a mid-game boss battle and executed for his crimes, of course. When a dedicated fan of the RPG “Next to Eden” awakened in the body of the cruelest future Count, four years before the beginning of the game, he pledged to live humbly. He would let his brother lead and support the Hero from the shadows to ensure the demon invasion would be defeated and he could enjoy life in peace. Rather, he would have, if he hadn’t gotten the Hero’s mentor killed in a freak monster attack before the Hero’s training could even begin. How was he supposed to live a life of peace and luxury if the Hero couldn’t stop the end of the world!? Donning a mask, Cyrus took up mentoring the Hero himself; how hard could it possibly be? . . . Four years later, the kind jack-of-all-trades hero Leon had become a twisted powerhouse: alienating his party members, clearing enemy encounters in a single magical blast, and coldly ignoring the affections of the girl whose love would have allowed him to clear the final boss. He seemed to have plastered himself to his Master’s side, instead. Cyrus bit back his despair while the hero reached out to grasp his hand. “Please stop ignoring the saint, Leon; you can't beat the Demon King by grinding stats! You need the power of love, remember?” “Don’t worry, Master,” Leon smiled as he traced the lines of Cyrus’s palm gently, almost reverently. “I have all the love I need.” VDL is two parts plot and worldbuilding, one part slow-build gay romance, starring a man far too proud to admit he's in over his head and the hero who loves him. Should be updating weekly.
