《Am I really though? (Sanderssides HumanAU)》Five: Janus

"Virgil!" Janus ran into Virgils hospital room. Virgil smiled and pulled him into a hug.
"Hey Dee, kinda glad you get to go home today!" He smiled. Janus looked down.
"But I'm afraid of Remus...my parents seem to think me and you just ran away together and the reason why your so sick is because we don't know how to take care of ourselves...I...I'm sorry I couldn't tell anyone about what actually happened..." Janus wiped his face.
"I couldn't tell them either..." Virgil mumbled. "The only reason they knew I was missing was because Logan, Patton and Roman had all reported it. They assumed I ran away though..."
"Are you going to really keep it like that?" Janus asked. Virgil smiled sadly.
"Yes...I know we should say something but.." Janus sat down on the bed across from Virgil. "Maybe we should wait until we know that Logan is safe?"
"I agree, but what about Roman and Patton, I can't believe they both went back there...I hope they're okay..." Virgil squeezed his arm.
"I'll be home tomorrow, they said I can go back after they run some test to make sure I didn't damage anything with all that throwing up." Virgil looked at his hands. "I'm sorry he took you..."
"Virgil stop blaming yourself..." he hugged Virgil. "I have to go back home. here." Janus handed Virgil his phone. "Entertainment." He chuckled as he walked out of the room. As soon as they pulled up to his house his parents started lecturing him about leaving unsupervised. He went to his room a few ho it's later and locked himself in there. He closed his eyes but all he heard were the creepy bugs. His eyes flung open and he walked over to his desk. There's no way he was going to sleep. He checked the time. God it was after midnight he definitely wasn't sleeping tonight. He sighed. Might as well write down what happened if he wasn't going to tell anyone. He couldn't keep this bottled up anymore.
I wasn't there long. Maybe just a few days...Virgil was there longer. He was worse off than me. But Remus had locked me away in a storage unit chained to a chair with my mouth gagged and bugs under a plastic covering on a plate they could have easily eaten through and gotten to me. I was there for twenty four hours before Logan came and untied me. If it weren't for him I don't think Remus would have let me go. I probably deserved being locked there. I pissed Remus off to the point where Logan had to make sure nothing else happened. LOGAN WAS RAPED BECAUSE HE WAS TRYING TO PROTECT US! Logan let himself be hurt because he didn't want Remus hurting me or Virgil! I was always so mean to Logan during his class yet he cared enough to let himself go through that just so remus wouldn't hurt us, just so we could escape. We did escape...though Roman and Patton got involved and are probably hurt now. I'm scared. Is this my fault? Virgil was trying to protect me by throwing up but Remus took me anyways...Logan was trying to protect us by fucking Remus, but Remus ended up hurting both of us anyways. Mentally that is. I don't think Virgil will ever be able to get back to a healthy weight after this without some serious medical help..and me? God I can't get over my stupid fear of Remus. I can fight him off I'm sure of it but I'm not strong enough. He'll lock me away with the bugs and this time nobody will be able to save me.

Janus set the pen down and looked down at his phone that lay resting on the desk. It was vibrating like crazy. Who was calling him at this hour? His eyes widened when he saw it was Patton. He answered immediately.
"Patton!" He cheerfully cried.
"Heh, not quite." Remus. Janus almost dropped his phone.
"What happened to Patton?" He asked quickly.
"Nothing, they are all safe. They agreed to stay. Now will you come back here and stop running away? I'll find Virgil and hurt him if not kiddo." He growled into the phone. Janus looked at his door and then at the window sadly. Oh god why was he going to do this?
"I can't just walk all the way there..." he grumbled. He crumbled up the paper he wrote and took out a lighter making sure it burned before jumping out his window and landing safely on the ground.
"I'll find you." Remus chuckled. Janus felt uneasy as he continued walking through the streets. "Get in." Suddenly a car pulled up besides him. He hung up and got into the car closing the door. Remus sat next to him in the drivers seat smirking. "Hi again kiddo." He held his arms to his chest. Why the hell was he doing this!?
"H-Hi." He whimpered out.
"They are all sleeping but as soon as we get back, you wake them up." Remus continued to drive and Janus looked out the window.
"Okay..." he bit his lip as they pulled into the house. Remus got out and opened the passenger door for Janus. He gripped his arm and dragged him towards the secret room, throwing him inside. Janus groaned as he got off the ground shakily. "R-Roman? P-Patton?" He walked over and shook then awake as tears flooded down his face. He looked over at Logan and ran over waking him and pulling him into a hug. "I-I'm Sorry Logan."
"JANUS!" Logan held him tight and looked at the other two who gasped when they realized who woke them.
"Oh my god..." Roman looked at Patton who shook his head.
"B-But you were at the hospital...you were out of his reach! Is Virgil okay!" Patton cried.
"He's still in the hospital..." Janus held Logan tightly in a hug. "H-He called me using your phone I...I didn't know what else to do"
"It's past midnight how did he even-."
"I wasn't in the hospital Patton... I was released earlier in the morning..." Janus looked down. "He threatened to hurt Virgil again if I didn't come and stay with you guys and since your the principle Patton you can't really go and call my parents to tell them I'm in school when I should be at home without-."

"Without them forcing you home and him finding Virgil..." Patton looked down and sighed. "And of course we three can't tell the police or he'll hurt you..."
"I'm sorry I let him take me..." Janus pulled away from Logan. "After what you did for me and Virgil to just get out I-."
"It's alright, don't worry about me." Logan smiles sadly.
"Are you kidding me of course I'm worried about you! Why wouldn't I be! And he...he thinks keeping everyone here is okay! Why are you all agreeing to this!" Tears flowed down his face. "I can't.."
"REMUS GET YOUR ASS IN HERE NOW!" Roman shouted. Patton jumped.
"Ro..." he shook his head. "Don't." Logan pulled Janus close and when the door opened Remus glared.
"What do you want! I bring you Dee and all you do is shout!" He growled.
"That's why I'm shouting! WHY DID YOU BRING HIM BACK HERE!" Roman shouted. Remus grabbed hold of Roman and threw him against the wall.
"REMUS STOP!" Logan walked over and pulled them apart.
"Lo...Lo dont." Roman shook his head.
"Remus, don't hurt them." Logan looked over at janus who gasped.
"DONT YOU DARE!" he cried. Remus grabbed Logan's hand and started dragging him towards the door.
"NO!" Roman shouted. "Don't you hurt him Remus!" Remus glared at the three of them.
"Go to bed." He dragged Logan through the door and slammed it behind him.
"No! Lo!" Patton cried. Roman walked over and pulled Janus into a hug.
"Are you okay Janus?" He asked. Janus looked at the door with wide eyes.
"D-Did he really just..." Roman nodded sadly.
"God I'm an idiot..." Roman grumbled. "I shouldn't have angered him...Logan was just trying to protect us."
"Janus you look exhausted, come on kiddo let's get you to bed." Patton walked over and helped him up. They walked to the bedroom and Janus got into the bed. Patton tucked him in.
"Is it my fault?" He asked. Patton sighed and kissed Januss forehead.
"No kiddo, it's not your fault." He sat on the edge of the bed. "I wish we could have kept you away from him...when Lo comes back we'll figure things out okay? We'll get you home to Virgil." Patton smiled as Janus tried to hide his blush.
"Oh my god is it that obvious I like him?" Janus asked. Patton poked his nose.
"Kiddo, I know a crush when I see one." He laughed.
"Do you think...do you think you can not send me home?" Janus asked. Patton frowned.
"Kiddo why would you ask me that?" He asked. He removed hair from Janus face revealing the burn mark on half his face. (Todoroki much haha) "woah...who did this!" Janus looked away.
"Why do you think I always have my hair in my face? The other kids make fun of me for it, it was my dad and mom they were arguing and throwing things and they didn't notice they threw the pan at me until it was too late they didn't care they got the hospital to stay hush about it...they said it was my fault I was playing in the kitchen when I shouldn't have been." Janus looked at his hands. "Virgil didn't care...Virgil likes seeing me for me he doesn't laugh at me for having a scar."
"What else did they do..." Patton asked. Janus looked at his hands again.
"They blamed me for, running away, as they put it. They blame me for Virgil being in the hospital...my dad hit me when we argued before I met up with Remus..." tears flowed down his face. "I don't want to be there they don't care about me Patton..."
"You can stay with me and Roman!" Patton smiled. "We'd love to have you around kiddo! Now, you get some sleep I'll be right here okay?" Janus smiled.
"Thank you Patton." He soon closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
