Mike's POV
Quickly jump dive into my bed, that's when I heard a knock on the door, it was my mom. "Michael?" I heard her say. She opened the door. "Hi, honey. How are you feeling?" She walked towards me. "I, uh..." She sat down. "I don't think I can go to school today." "Oh, that's fine sweetie. I need to drop of Nancy, then I'm gonna check in on Barb's parents. Why don't you grab a book or something and come with me? We can stop by the video store on the way back, pick out whatever you want. Even R-rated." She offered. "I think I just want to stay home today. I mean, if that's okay?" I said weakly. "Well, are you sure you're gonna be all right here by yourself?" "I think so." She sighed "Okay. But if you need anything call Dad at work." "Okay." I said softly. "Okay." She kissed me in the head and left. "Bye." "Bye, sweetie." She shut the door and I grabbed my supercom. "Lucas, do you copy? Lucas, come on, I know your there."
Lucas's POV
I heard my supercom. It was Mike. I didn't want to pick it up. I wanted to just, I don't know, take a break, I know it wasn't his fault for how he acted last night but still, I was mad at him for that. "This is urgent. I'm serious. I'm not gonna stop until you answer. Lucas. Lucas! Lucas, Lucas, Lucas, Lucas, Lucas. Lucas, Lucas, Lucas Lucas, Lucas, Lucas, Lucas--" He was starting to get annoying so I picked up. "Go away, Mike. I'm not in the mood, all right? Over and out." I started to turn it off. "No, not 'out'. I'm not messing around, okay? This is about Will. Over." What he mean? "What about Will? You mean about his funeral? Over." "No, not about his funeral. Screw his funeral." "What?" "Just get over here stat. And bring Dustin and Y/N. Over and out." That's when Y/N walked out. "What's wrong?" She asked me. "It's Mike, he says we need to get to his house stat." "Why?" "It's about Will." Her face went sad when I mentioned Will. I could tell they were close. "Ok." She tried to hide the sorrow that she felt.

Y/N POV
We walked to Mike's house. He let us in and we went down the basement. "How is it that you two arrived together? Dustin wasn't with you guys was he?" He questioned us. "Well, after you left us, Y/N bike went missing her parents weren't home and she had no place to stay, so she stayed at my place." "Oh, sorry." "It's ok." I said. "No, it's not ok." Lucas said. "Well its in the past know so let's forget about it." "Fine." The doorbell went off, Mike went up to go get it, it was Dustin. They came back downstairs. "So what did you want to tell us that was so important?" Lucas asked. "I know this might sound crazy but I heard Will, he was on the radio." El was going through the stations on the radio, there was whimpering in the background. "We kept loosing the signal, but you heard it, right?" "Yeah, I heard a baby." Lucas said. "What?" Mike questioned. "Mike, you obviously tapped into a baby monitor. It's probably the Blackburns' next door." "Uh, did that sound like a baby to you? That was Will." Mike objected. I think he was in denial, as much as I wanted Will... it was wasn't him, they found his body. "Mike..." Lucas tried to tell him. "Lucas, you don't understand. He spoke this morning. Words. He was singing that weird song he loves. Even El heard him!" "Oh, well, if the weirdo heard him, then I guess-" Dustin interrupted him. "Are you sure you're in the right channel?" "I don't think it's about that. I think, somehow, she's channeling him." "Like... like Professor X." Dustin said. "Yeah." "Are you actually believe if this crap?" Lucas said. The room went silent. "I don't know, I mean..." Dustin exclaimed. "Do you remember when Will fell off his bike and broke his finger? He sounded a lot like that." "Did you guys not see what I saw? They pulled Will's body out of the water. He's dead!" I had to get up, I ran to the bathroom, I felt like I was gonna throw up. I slammed the door behind me.

Dustin's POV
Y/N ran to the bathroom. I looked to Lucas, he had just realized what she said. "Great job Lucas, look what you've done." I said. "Hey, I was just saying the truth. You guys are crazy, talking about how Will is still here, he's not." Lucas and I got up. "Guys give her some alone time. She probably needs it right now." Mike said. We sat back down. "Fine. Well, maybe it's his ghost. Maybe he's haunting us." "It's not his ghost." Mike responded. "So how do you know that?" Lucas questioned him. "I just do!" "Then what was in that water?" "I don't know. All I know is Will is alive. Will is alive! He's out there somewhere. All we have to do is find him." Eleven was messing with the radio. "This isn't gonna work. We need to get El to a stronger radio." "Mr. Clarke's Heathkit ham shack." I smiled. "Yeah." Mike agreed. "The Heathkit's at school. There is no way we're gonna get the weirdo in there without anyone noticing." We all went silent, he was right. "I mean... look at her."

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
