"i don't know, man," shawn sighs, opening up his fridge, and taking out two beers for him and brian. "she hasn't spoken to me since we lost one of the babies, and it's been two months since. what do i do? she's coming up to her gender scan, and i-"
"already?" brian asks, slightly shocked. "jesus christ."
"i know. i've tried talking to her, and going over once in a while, but she never answers her door for me, she's stopped responding to my texts and calls, i don't know what to do," shawn says, handing brian the beer.
"maybe she just wants to be alone," brian says. "come on, she was carrying two babies, and now she's carrying one. the baby died whilst inside her."
"but do you think i don't feel upset? i lost my child too," shawn says sadly, leaning against the kitchen island. "i just want to talk to her, at least, but she won't even talk back to me. when we drove back from the hospital, it was like i didn't exist. she walked into her apartment without another word, and just blocked me out completely."
"there's gotta be a reason why, shawn," brian advises him. "look, why don't i go over and talk to her?"
"could you? she's been talking to laur and her two other friends, and i think ian went over once. other than that, she hasn't come out," shawn sighs. "and she missed the dinner with both of our families. i had to tell them what happened, that was the hardest thing i've ever done."
"i'm so sorry, man," brian tells him. "okay, you know what? i'm gonna head over to hers now. i'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
"thank you so much," shawn says, letting out a sigh of relief. "tell me how she is, and how the baby is."
"i will, don't worry," brian says to shawn, putting down the beer bottle, before leaving shawns condo, and heading down the corridor to anya's. he sighs, knocking on the door, waiting for anya to answer.
anya heats the knock, and looking up from her pot of ice cream, sighing softly. she pauses the tv show she was watching, and puts the ice cream down, swooping her blanket over her shoulders, and waddling over to the door, her growing belly out in front of her; it's not too big, but it's still obvious that she's pregnant now.
she looks through the peephole, seeing brian standing there. anya quickly unlocks the door, opening it up, and inviting brian in.
"hey kiddo," brian says to her, greeting her with a hug. "how you holding up?"
"i've been better," she mumbles, walking inside the apartment, brian following her.
"so, shawn tells me you haven't been speaking to him," brian says, starting the conversation as soon as he walks into the living room. anya sighs yet again, hugging the blanket close to her.
"how can i? i lost one of his children," she says softly, curling up on her couch, and looking down at the floor.
"anya, no, don't blame yourself," brian says almost immediately. "it's not your fault."

"but it is, they were inside me, and i lost one of them," she says again, tears pooling at her eyes. "god, i'm already such a bad mother."
"anya," brian warns, moving closer to her. "stop. none of this was your fault, shawns simply just worried because you won't even talk to him. you didn't lose the baby, none of it was your fault, and you're gonna be the best mother out there. please don't worry."
"how is he?"
"he's worried about you, more than anything. just please, talk to him," brian tells her, placing his hand on her back in a comforting manner. "okay, look, i gotta go, but will you be okay?"
"hopefully," she nods, as brian stands up. "brian?"
"yeah?"
"thanks for coming over," she sighs. "i guess because i've been isolating myself, i've been pretty lonely. it's nice to have someone come over."
"no problem," he smiles, as anya stands up, giving brian a hug. "if you need anything, all of us are here for you. we're all supporting you and shawn, don't ever forget that."
"i don't deserve you guys at all," anya mumbles, pulling away from the hug. "thank you so much."
"i'll see you later, yeah?" brian says, walking to the front door of her condo. anya nods again, saying a quick goodbye, before brian leaves, welcoming anya to loneliness yet again.
anya wanted to have shawn hold her in his embrace once again, but she knew deep down that she would feel guilty if she received any affection from shawn.
and it killed her that she thought that.

shawn was sitting alone in his condo, strumming away at his guitar, with a neat scotch in a glass on the coffee table. sunday nights were always his favourite, somehow they were lonely, yet so comforting at the same time. it confused shawn drastically, but they were the nights that kept him sane.
he let a sigh pass his pink lips, before standing up and stretching out his tall figures since sitting down for a length of time did get strenuous. he walked straight to the kitchen, and opened up the fridge, trying to find something to eat.
if anya was here, they would probably cook something, and laugh, then cuddle together on the couch, truly amazed by their little baby growing inside anya.
he had managed to salvage some leftover pasta, and quickly microwaved that, serving it to himself on a white dish.
the night was lonely, but he was content.
a gentle knock was heard on his door, and he scrunched his face up in confusion, looking up from his plate of pasta. who would come to his condo this late on a sunday? with another sigh, shawn stood up from the kitchen island, and walked to the door, opening it up to reveal his regular hookup in the past, georgia sinclair.
"georgia? what are you doing here?" shawn questions, opening up the white door.
"well, it's a sunday, and i was bored," she shrugs, tossing her curls behind her ear, before strutting into shawns condo. "you don't mind me being here, right? my roommate has her boyfriend over."

"whatever, just do what you want," shawn mutters, following her inside, the two of them heading to the kitchen. "do you want a drink or anything?"
"i brought goods with me," she grins, taking out a bottle of grey goose vodka from her bag. shawn smiles, shaking his head, before sighing and sitting at the table.
"well you can keep those goods to yourself," shawn tells her, continuing to eat his dinner. "i poured out some scotch a few hours ago, but i still haven't finished it."
"that's weird for you," she says. "what's up?"
"i guess the stress with the baby," he sighs, putting his fork down, and leaning back in his chair. "anya hasn't spoken to me since-since we found out."
"oh," georgia says. "don't you think that's a bit, you know, unfair?"
"it is, but i understand. she's going through a hard time, what can i do about it?" shawn asks, folding his arms against his chest. "now tell me, what's the real reason you came here?"
"i don't know," she mumbles, looking up from her hands, and straight at shawn. "i guess i just miss the old sunday nights."
"what? the ones where you would come over, we would fuck, and then you would leave?" shawn asks her, a slightly sarcastic tone running through his voice. she looks up, a smile toying with the corners of her lips.
"well, do you?"
"do i what?"
"miss it?"
"georgia i-"
"i know, i know, you're gonna be a dad soon, it's out of order for me to even think, i-" shawn cuts her off immediately, by standing up. "uh?"
"if i'm completely honest, the last two months have been shit, and i don't think anya's going to speak to me ever again," shawn says to her. "so, are you coming or not?"
"what?"
"and here's me thinking you're smart because you're doing a maths degree," shawn mutters. "do you want to hook up or not?"
"i thought you would never ask," she grins, hopping up from where she was sitting, and following shawn into his bedroom, a small giggle leaving her lips.
both of them knew it was completely platonic, it was just a way they could both let off some steam, and relax from the stress of life. shawn had his busy life to shut off, and georgia was doing a maths degree, so it's understandable that she needs a distraction once in a while.
they finished pretty quickly too, it was well needed, and satisfied them both. georgia ended up staying in bed for a little longer than bargained for, and shawn didn't complain, at least he had some sort of company, since the last two months without anya were horrible for him, he had no one.
sunday nights were also magical in some way.
anya had just gotten out of the shower, and she had a fluffy white robe wrapped around her figure. she sat down at her vanity, and let out a small sigh, before starting on her evening skincare routine.
she was half way through applying her moisturiser, when she felt the first movement. it was alien, like a little jolt that shocked her. it was pure, innocent, incredible. it was something that snapped her out from her empty daze.
"oh my," anya mumbles to herself, tears filling her eyes, as she quickly presses her hands on her bump, eager to feel another kick. the baby responds, feeling the electric connection, and kicks back, making a massive smile appear across anya's face. she let a laugh leave her lips, and let the tears roll down her cheeks.
she was happy.
"baby," she giggles, feeling around her bump, the baby continuing to move around and respond to its mothers touch.
she had to go tell shawn.
so, with a hop in her step, she raced out of her condo, still dressed in only a robe, and knocked quickly at shawns door. it wasn't too late, she knew shawn would still be awake. after all, he usually doesn't fall asleep till after eleven, and it had only just gone ten.
shawn sits up from the bed immediately, the knock echoing around his room, which was far away from the main door of the condo. he was confused again, and quickly got up, pulling his boxers on, and the pair of sweatpants back on. he walked out of the room, looking back at georgia, before shutting the door softly, and walking through his dark condo to the main door.
he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw anya, and had to blink a few times to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
"shawn, the baby-" she chokes out. "i-it's moving-"
"oh my god, really?" shawn bursts, forgetting about the girl who he just slept with, as he pulls anya inside by the waist, placing his hands over her bump.
"yeah- i-i just felt it, i had to come over and tell you, i know it's late but-" she gets cut off by the baby immediately responding to shawns touch. shawns eyes fill with tears, his emotions mirroring anya's, as he quickly looks at her, and then back down at the bump, switching between the two in quick successions.
"a-anya," shawn whispers, letting a tear roll down his cheek. "oh my god."
"i-i-" she grins, placing her hands over shawns. "a-are you happy?"
"anya, i'm ecstatic," he grins, completely forgetting about georgia literally being a door away from them. "i know things have been difficult but i really hope we're okay again-"
"shawn? what time is it?" georgia emerges from the bedroom, walking into the main room of the condo, her dress pulled sluggishly over her body, and her hair still messed up. "oh-anya!"
"shawn?" anya questions, her smile slowly sinking into a frown. shawns heart stops, as he quickly looks between the two women, before looking down at his baby, and back up at anya.
"it's not what it looks like-"
"oh really? because it looks like you slept with her," anya says to him, her voice quiet and soft, obvious pain running through it.
"anya i-"
"save it," she whispers to him, shaking her head, and walking out the condo, shame written all over her.
and all of sudden, anya was greeted by the cold again.
