《Trouble | Harry Styles (REVISING)》Five

Today was a day for school pride because later today, during 8th period, they were holding a pep rally. Probably to announce the winter season and bring the students back into the spirit. I was not a fan of these events, but because it was at the end of the day, I was just fine with listening to a dumb speech and then going home for the day.
But, because I knew there would be some kind of fun event, the day crawled. It seemed like hours went by per class, I couldn't keep my eye off the clock. I was particularly exhausted today and all I could think about was a nap, maybe a movie or a tv-show. As soon as it was time for the rally, I immediately found Niall and Harry.
The past two months, Harry was completely different. He would still complain about stuff, his face always showed annoyance; But he would include me in conversations and we even hung out a few times after school. I got to know him somewhat, he was tolerable at first but then he grew on me. He even made me somewhat nervous whenever we would talk, I formed feelings for him.
Niall, Harry and I found a spot on the bleachers and waited for the rest of our group to show up. Soon enough Liam, Zayn. Louis and Ellie were sitting with us and we were all conversing. It was hard for me to pay much attention, though, because Harry was sitting right next to me and his thigh warmed my bare one.
I was delighted to have a distraction, the band stopped playing their off-tune music, our band teacher wasn't exactly the best. Our dean, Dr. Morgan, came walking to the middle of the gym, and stood on the creast. He held a microphone, waiting for everyone to quiet down. A hush fell over the buzzing of conversations that a thousand kids made.

"I am pleased to announce to everyone that the winter season is falling upon us and our ladies cannot wear skirts in the winter. From now until March, ladies must wear slacks. Please do not come to school wearing your skirt in December, you will be sent to the nurse and you will wear something school issued. We are also offering school issued hoodies and zip-up's that you may wear before and after class. If class is in session, I expect you to be wearing your uniform jackets."
Relief sunk in, I was starting to worry they would make me come to school in a skirt while the snow is falling. I pulled out my wallet from my backpack and plucked out my cash. I wasn't going to pass on a hoodie, even if it had our crest on it. My favorite form of clothing were hoodies and sweats, preferably laying in bed watching a movie on a rainy day.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when a large hand was placed firmly on my knee as Harry leaned over to pull his wallet from his back pocket. I felt goosebumps raise on my skin as his warmth spread across my bare leg, he never placed a hand on me before. He didn't move it when he had his wallet out, he only slid it down my knee to my thigh. He gripped the inside of my leg, I only acted as though it wasn't there, which was difficult.
I heard a quiet chuckle come from Harry as the goosebumps came and went, which only made him squeeze my skin. I couldn't tell him to stop because the truth, I didn't want him to stop. I enjoyed his touch, the reassurance that he was there. This only made the pit in my stomach for him grow deeper, and now all I could think about was him.

And then, I felt the cold absence when he moved his hand away. I wanted to grab it and put it back in it's place, where it belonged, but I resisted as much as I could. Seconds went by and all I did was twitch, how pathetic am I? As an instinct, I grabbed his arm and returned his hand to my leg. I felt safe with this simple gesture, and he didn't argue as he kept it. A few squeezes here and there, his thumb brushed across my thigh in a caring way.
'God,' I thought. 'What is this effect he has on me?'
As soon as the pep rally came to an end, Harry grabbed my hand in his. I felt myself internally screaming with excitement as he helped me down the bleacher steps. He never let go, even when I was buying my hoodie. Even as we walked toward the exit, all I could do was enjoy the moment.
As soon as he opened the door for me, I spotted my Mom's car and ripped my hand out of his. I turned to him, for a second his face flashed a look of disappointment until his eyes met mine.
"Sorry, my rides here. I'll talk to you when I get home?" I smiled. I guess mine was contagious cause his eyes flashed to it, a smile of his own crept onto his face.
"Sure thing, love." He winked, then walked across the courtyard to meet up with Liam and Niall. My cheeks burned as I slid into my Mom's car.
"How's the gang doing?" She asked. I just smiled and nodded, watching Harry's back as he stood there and chatted. What is wrong with me? I've never felt this way about a man before.
When we got home, I practically ripped my uniform off and changed into my pajamas. Dropping back first onto my bed, I whipped my phone out and my heart leaped with excitement. Harry's name was the first text on my screen, even his name in my phone has me head over heels.
I let out the smallest of screeches, my legs jiggled with the girliest excitement. I smiled ear to ear and replied to him, trying to flirt as hard as I could.
Replying:
So did I, let's do it again, sometime soon xx
I realized I had a list of texts from the different boys. Liam and Niall, both had the same subject, too.
It was a great idea, by idea I mean the party part. I was itching to get out and be with my friends, spend some more time with Harry while we weren't within the walls of Winchester. But, a pool party at my house wasn't exactly going to work out. Two problems: my Mom and my Dad. I knew the cold weather wouldn't be much of a problem, the pool had a heater connected to it's own solar panels.
How would I get my parents out for the night? Telling them to go have a date night would be suspicious, they would catch me in no time. But, if I mention a restaurant that's fancy and mention how they had to skip their anniversary dinner because we were moving? That might work.
So I got to work planning my diabolical way to make my parents leave.
