《Wolves of Roma》Chapter 9

"Listen up people" Adrian said to the assembled crowd "We go in two groups, wolves form followed by human form. Wolves will do recon and handle close combat, the human group will provide firepower and support. We cannot hold surprise for long so we hit fast and we hit hard" he paused and said "Lock and load folks this is the fight we signed up for."
Men changed in to wolf forms, they were soldiers trained from their early life to become the fighting machines that they were, as humans they were deadly but as wolves they were extremely lethal.
There were other men gathering around these wolves fitting them with an exoskeleton made of reinforced steel and silver. Their paws fit in to a perfect metal shoe with silver claws on the outside and steel on the inside so that the wolf that wears them does not feel the effect of silver. The exoskeleton supported the wolf structure, protecting the week spots like heart and head and providing reinforced strength for the legs and the paws became deadly silver weapons of attack.
The folks in human form were also wearing Kevlar vests supported by silver, Kevlar was difficult to tear even with extra strength of wolf teeth and the vest mixed with silver meant that if you did bite in to the vest you will get a nice silver burn in your mouth.
The specially modified guns were being loaded with special bullets which would explode on they penetrate. The human group was also divided in to two groups, cover and fire force. Cover force mainly consisted of snipers and rapid fire machine guns for cover fire and fire force had the maximum firepower with fully automatic guns, grenades and RPG's.
It took thirty minutes for the group to set up. Alex would run a command center from here. The wolf's exoskeletons were equipped with infrared cameras that would give him real time data to co-ordinate attacks. Adrian was also staying back with Alex to co-ordinate.
***
There were four flood lights illuminating the compound and two overlook the high brick wall and chain linked gate. There were eight guards in human form. Four near the gate and four spread on the ground. The abandoned factory that they were using as a hideout was a brick and mortar structure The structure was about four floor high and had no windows on three sides and no way to scale it without detection.
The front of the building had an open area and a brick wall of about six feet high ran from the building to the front gate. The wall had barbed wire fencing on the top. The front gate itself was a chain linked remote controlled gate and the front door if the building was an massive iron door and that was the only door in to the building which was currently locked from inside.
The distance from the door to the front gate was a good two fifty meters which would give enough warning to the inhabitants of the building if someone breached the gate. There were no trees in the compound nor were there any objects behind which people could hide. The four fold lights were mounted on the top of the building from which they caste adequate light on to the compound
The guards did not hear the whiz of the suppressed sniper fire but they did hear the glass breaking and the lights going out and that alerted them, they were equipped with wireless radios and were furiously communicating in their radio and took a minute to register the rumble of engine. The guard stopped talking looked at each other and then looked at the gate.

Shit! They thought as the gate crashed and a massive military vehicle came rumbling in crushing the chain linked gate which could not offer any resistance to this massive truck.
The truck speed up and headed for the door of the building and the guards took a few seconds to understand the intention of the driver, they shifted in to wolf form and ran behind the truck in a futile attempt. Hundreds of tons of kinetic energy was not something a wolf could match even a werewolf and the truck barreled down the compound the main door of the factory. The driver of the truck floored the pedal and had put on his seat belt and barreled towards the door "brace for impact" he yelled to his passengers in the section behind him which was crammed with folks both in wolf and human form.
The barreling truck rammed in to the door. The impact was sufficient enough to tear the massive iron doors from their hinges and fly in to the building on impact. The brick work around the door also came apart.
The driver quickly reversed the truck for a few feet, removed his seat belt and yelled "go! go! go!" as he jumped out of the truck taking a gun with him.
He saw one of the guard wolves barreling down towards him its jaws open ready to tear his head off its neck. He calmly aimed the weapon and fired. The high powered explosive bullet headed straight towards the wolf and thanks to the superior aiming skills entered the wolf in between the wolves wide open snarling jaws and the moment it hit the back of the mouth it exploded. Even before the wolf realized what happened, the explosion turned its massive head in to mush and blood and the body hit the ground, minus the head and very much dead. The inertia dragged the body couple of feet on the ground and finally came to stop, never to move again.
The folks from the passenger compartment of the truck started jumping out. All of them in wolf form jumped out and entered the building where as the humans remained outside taking out the guard wolves with their guns and them half of them entered the building. Reinforcements arrived in the form of more wolves and a dozen hummers filled with werewolf's in human form and in minutes the guards were dead and most of them entered the building leaving only a few of them out to just ensure none escaped.
Inside the building it was a different story, there was heavy resistance but guns and silver claws were doing the trick. The rogues clearly not prepared and not expecting such a large assault on their base were finding themselves in retreat.
The Roma wolves came across a narrow passage way of about 10 feet and at the end of the passage way was a regular wooden door which was closed they stopped and waited.
Alex was receiving the camera feed from one of the wolves and looked at the IR image of the door. He whistled and said in to a mike "We have a shitload of wolves in there, bring in the heavy fire"
"Grenade" someone yelled and the Roma wolves in front of the attack formation crouched down on the floor there heads literally touching the floor. A grenade flew over their head bounced on the floor making that metallic sound as it clanked on the floor and finally landed near the door, a moment passed and then the grenade exploded taking half the door with it, the other half was barely hanging on its hinges and swaying wildly about from the impact of the blast. The room on the other side was dark, the rogues had turned off the lights hoping it would give them some protection.

"RPG" someone yelled again and then something whizzed over the head of the wolves in to the dark room and exploded.
Howls of pain could be heard and even before the smoke could settle someone shouted "RPG" again and two more rocket propelled grenades whizzed in to the room and exploded. The Roma wolves crouched on the ground started growling and a moment later wolves started pouring out of the damaged doorway.
"Grenade!"
"Fire"
"RPG"
It was a massacre, the doorway was piled with dead wolves.
"Strobes" someone yelled and light strobes were thrown in to the room. Two Roma wolves cautiously walked in to the room covering each other flanks and looked around. The camera transmitted the video back to Alex who could see dead bodies of wolves strewn all over but the room was clear.
"Clear" someone yelled as he got his instructions from Alex over his wireless earpiece and they flooded the room. This was empty but had a stair case at the end which went both up and downwards and had a door next to it. So they had three possible routes and areas to cover, they quickly split themselves in to three groups each group including a wolf form which led the way followed by human forms and then they spread out.
One team opened the door next to the staircase and proceeded, there were series of rooms and they meticulously searched each room and found them empty but with supplies, the rogues were here for quite some time, they reached the dead end and found nothing.
"This is team one. All clear" one of them said on the microphone and indicated his group to split up, only few folks would remain behind and the rest would join the other two groups for additional support if need be.
Team two, took the staircase down in to what appeared to be an underground cellar area again series of rooms all empty until they came to a metal door closed shut. One of the werewolves came closer to the door and sniffed it and growled. The folks in human form nodded to each other one of them donned an IR night vision camera. He could hues of red beyond the door, he gave a thumbs up sign and everyone moved back at least ten feet from the door.
The wolves at the front and behind them the folks in human form with guns pointed at the door, one of them quietly came over to the door and pointed a shotgun and nodded at the group before firing at the lock. The door swung open at the impact and the guy with the shotgun hurried back to the others.
As the door opened they could see wolves growling at them at the doorway but not attacking.
"Hold" the team leader shouted "Hold your fire"
They surveyed the room they were wolves protecting the doorway with their fangs bared and to the back of the room they could see cubs both in human and wolf forms, the team realized that the adult wolves in the room were all female protecting their cubs, ready to die for them.
The team leader stepped forward and then he pointed his gun down and put his hands up, the wolves growled louder as they saw him approaching closer
He stopped about four feet from the door and said loud and clear "Nobody had to get hurt, we will not harm you, provided you do not step out. My team will be guarding this door, but if you put one paw out of the door, we will fire and aim to kill, do you understand?"
The wolves just growled at him, chafed at him giving orders, who clearly was not their alpha, but they did not move nor did they attack.
"Again I repeat, we will not harm you or your cubs" at the mention of cubs the growling from the female wolves grew "But it is up to you, you need to stay in the room, I need your confirmation."
"We will" a female voice said, she was hiding in the room and he could not see her through the door "Leave us now" she commanded with authority "we will comply with your wishes."
"Very well" he said and turned back and walked towards his team, with his fingers he indicated to his team to take positions just in case the females decided to get adventurous.
He walked further away, when he thought he was out of hearing range of the rogues in the room he spoke in to his ear piece "Team two, we have contained a group for female wolves with cubs, some of them are escaping through the sewer line in the back of the room, you should find this line at the north of the building apprehend and contain. I repeat apprehend and contain, do not kill except for self-defense. There are female and cubs do you copy?"
"Copy that. Contain and detain only" came back the crisp response.
Good. He thought, they did kill but they were not monsters. What to do with these females and cubs was not his headache. He went back to his team to take position.
***
The third team which took the stairs up faced resistance right away in the first floor and had to fight their way to the second and third floor and finally on the fourth floor they came to about twenty five wolves, the looked like the strongest of the lot and then clearly with them was a massive black wolf, alpha power clearly radiating out of him. This was their last stand and clearly the dozen or so Roma wolves would not be a match, so immediately those in the wolf from requested for back up.
The team leader spoke up "Surrender and no one has to die today" silently indicating for his men to call for backup a lot of it.
He was only met with challenging growls.
He was receiving instructions on his ear piece from Alex "Sending backup. We need them alive, I know this can be tricky you need to stall as much as possible"
No shit Sherlock! the team leader thought.
"Use the stun guns" Alex said, his message was going to ear pieces of all his team members in human form and a couple of his folks at the back already were pulling out a specially modified gun and assembling it up.
"We will not harm you" the team leader said buying time "No need for bloodshed" he added. The reply growls he got were saying otherwise, lot of their brothers died today and they were looking for blood or go down trying. Even rogues has their pack loyalty.
"Listen, we have some of your female and cubs in our custody, they could not escape, you can check with them" he said, the growls became vicious and a moment later some of those wolves whined confirming the team leaders statement. Some of them must have been their mates.
"We could end this peacefully and nobody else has to die" The thinly veiled threat was clearly understood by rogues and some of them started getting agitated.
A large growl more like a roar came from the Alpha, looks like they got the answers, defiant to the end they were. Some never knew when to give up
"Your choice, Alpha. You will decide if your pack of rogues live another day or die today"
The rogues formed an attack stance.
"Ready" The team leader ordered to his team, by now he had some more reinforcement join in, mostly in human form with guns aimed at rogues. One end of the room was the rogues making their last stand and on the other end were the Roma wolves and about twenty feet of distance between them.
"Now" the leader yelled and the Roma's open fire. The specially modified silver nitrate bullets entered the body of rogues and caused a mini explosion blowing away skin, bones and tissue and the silver nitrate ensure that they didn't heal back. That didn't stop the onslaught of rogue wolves coming towards them.
The team leader was standing a little away from his team who were busy firing at the rogues. The Alpha saw this as the opportunity and pounced his jaw wide open to tear open his neck. What happened next was more like a slow motion scene from an action movie.
The team leader has expected this, this was the reason he stood a little aloof as the bait, when from the corner of his eye he saw the Alpha pounce he shouted "now" and ducked down, there was one more man standing behind him who was hidden by the team leader, he was holding a long special modified gun of sorts aimed and ready, he fired it. A cartridge with pins was ejected out of the gun and flew across and the pins tore the skin of the Alpha under his throat.
A beep emitted from the cartridge and then the Alpha felt his entire body burn, the flesh near where the cartridge was lodged started burning. The cartridge delivered 500 Volts of raw electricity in to his body making him loose control, his vision blurred and his form blur between wolf and human. He missed his target and landed on the floor with a thud as his limbs rattled from the shock refused to support him.
They were ready for him. Two more men in the back shot similar cartridge in to his torso as his wolf convulsed in response to the electricity shot in to his system and his form retreated from wolf to human, quickly someone put a collar of silver around his neck and his hands were quickly put in to a specially modified cuffs behind his back he faintly felt a prick of needle on his neck "Sweet dreams Alpha" someone said "you are not going to have them for a long, long time."
After what seemed like eternity he regained conscious, he was lying on the ground in a room, his vision was slowly returning back, he saw a pair of boots walking towards him and he heard a voice he never ever wanted to hear in his life.
"Wakey, wakey, Alpha Drakey, long time no see!"
A cold chill of dread went through his system "Adrian!" he mumbled in utter horror and surprise. As he recognized the voice he never thought he would listen to in his life again.
Hell. had finally caught up with him.

Don't Come Inside, Okay?
Lars Cromwell just got dumped by his girlfriend of 3 months, apparently because she found someone better. Although the normal man would have been bummed out by this, Lars didn't particularly mind. Because Lars just won the lottery, which meant he was about a billion dollars richer now. And he had one less person to share it with! Even if he was single, at least he was filthy stinking rich! In any case, this is Lars' story. A story that begins just like how many others do. With his death. Join Lars as he reincarnates into another world as his Avatar together with his favorite game's Dungeon and it's NPCs! = This Work is on an indefinite Hiatus. I do not know when I'll get back to this, but I plan to rewrite a bunch of stuff when I do. If you liked this, keep following it so that I can inform you of when I improve this! = Hello, I'm Lire, and this is my 2nd fiction. I recently got into the whole dungeon thing, and thought that I wanted to write one of my own! Chapter Length: 2000+ Words. It can only be more, never less. Chapter Release Schedule: Whenever I can write. I am juggling this with my main Fiction, so yeah... Disclaimer: - Don't expect much statistical growth from the MC. Although I plan for him to refine his techniques and increase his repertoire. - You can guess from the name, but there will not be too much action in the dungeon itself. Plus, the dungeon has been fully built, so not too many things will be added either. The whole idea is to kill potential intruders before they enter the Dungeon. - This will be more like a Kingdom building story, than a Dungeon Building one. MC will try to dominate his surroundings so that he can keep his Dungeon safe. - There will be Slice of life elements, since realistically speaking, events aren't supposed to happen all the time. - This work is inspired, to a certain extent, by Murayama-sama's Overlord Light novel. Minus the 'emotionless' undead MC, and the premise of misunderstandings. The NPCs will also be aware that they were characters in a game, that came to life for some reason, so no need for MC to role-play to pull the wool over the eyes of his own allies. Also, unlike Overlord, there is a chance for the cast of characters to increase through a built-in gacha system(This is not a spoiler, this will literally be explained in the first few chapters.), except that the rates are absolutely abysmal, so it won't happen frequently. Maybe I'll use a poll to decide the next ally? We'll see.

God of Thieves
Matsumoto Kunio was just an average human living a boring life in Tokyo, Japan. That was the case until he died and was reincarnated to another world! Armed with a System and tasked with a mission to save the world, watch as Matou, the new name he was given, sets off on an epic adventure! …Or at least, that should have happened? “All right, hand me the thingamabob, you’re no longer the main character! Now, how does this thing work? Ah. “My name is Kayden, and witness my ascendance to the God of Thieves! None shall be safe from my hands, not even your beloved System! Muahahahaha!” This can’t be happening… Author’s note. Hi, this novel is a LitRPG novel. In case you are confused, both Kayden and Matou are main characters, but the ‘protagonist’ would be Kayden. The novel is pretty slow-paced (in my opinion), so do keep that in mind when reading. This is my first novel, so do leave reviews and comments on how to improve my writing. Be nice about it. Also, I recently added the profanity tag. There is some swearing but it's not excessive or anything. Adding it just in case. Taking a one week break! Basically until my exams are over.
