"Hi dad." I say walking into the house a week after I woke up, let's just say paranoia kills sometimes. I even made Paul and Leah come.
"Hi." He says smiling at me. "I like your eyes." I laugh at him. The eyes are freaky. It's okay though cause so am I, wink wink.
"I like your mustache." I replied and he laughed and came to hug me. "Hi dad."
"Hey Celeste." I think I would cry if I could but as I've realized. I in fact can not. "Missed you kiddo."
"Missed you to old man."
"I can still ground you." He says still hugging me. "Don't think I won't."
"Alright alright." I say that pulling back. "Look at you a vampire daughter."
"Better than a vampire son-in-law or two."
"I don't believe in marriage. So it would be one max."
"Well that's nice to know. Now Achilles is sad upstairs in your bed go say hello."
"Yes sir." I say jogging up the stairs, or trying to, I ended up vamping up and into my door face first. "Man I gotta get better at this." I say opening my door. "Hi Achilles. Hi boy." I say and he stands from his spot on the bean bag chair. "Hi." He comes up and licks my face. "Hi boyo. How are ya?"
"You gonna go back to work soon?" Paul asks coming into my room.
"Long as one of you guys babysit me."
"Trust yourself." He says. "You've had no slips this far."
"It's been a week Paul. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I trust myself, but I know how wrong it can go. I need to be watched. End of story."
"Hey don't worry. I got you boo. Don't worry about a thing."
"Thanks bear boy." I turning looking at myself in the mirror I got lucky that all my tattoos and piercings are healed so the venom didn't heal them out of by body. Cause one that's a waste of money and two how fucking lame would that be. Only thing lamer is saying all vampires should be white.
"Good cause I told Ray you'd be back tomorrow morning."
"Bitch."
"You love me." I do.

"Hello Alice." Calvin says appearing through a rack of clothes.
"What are you doing here Calvin?" She asks him while continuing to browse trough the racks. Calvin following her.
"Oh I just had a question little Alice." Calvin says smiling when she turns to face him. "What was the vision you had last week?" It wasn't a normal question however, he used his compulsion (original I know) to make sure she tells him. It's not something he's proud of but he thinks he knows what it's about and he'll be damned if he doesn't find out.
"Celeste was with the voltori. She's been turned." Alice says with no hesitation.
"Well thank you, now forget about this little conversation please and thank you." Then he moved back before Alice could recover from the fog in her brain.
"What are you doing here Calvin?" She asks again having no memory of the conversation.

"I need advice on a new ring for Rosalie when you're done here please." He said smiling down at her.
"Of course."
-
"Welcome back sick girl." Kai says when I walk in to the shop with Paul. "Sup Paul."
"Sick girl? How original of you." I say rolling my eyes. I breathe in and find all I can smell is metal and ink, I smile a little. "How's life been since I've been gone?" I ask him going to pull up my appointments in the book, everything had to be moved cause I was "sick".
"Oh you know pretty tame. And not that he'll admit it. Ray was pretty worried about you." Kit says ginning. "I think he even missed you."
"Ooo I feel special." I say pulling out a sketchbook filled with the tattoos I need for today.
"So am I supposed to ignore the freaky red eyes?" Kit stage whispers. "Also what kind of sick were you?"
"Something with my liver or some shit. Fucked with my eyes need contacts permanently, figured might as well have fun with it."
"Oh shit."
"Which is also why I now have a babysitter, to make sure I don't you know die." Or kill someone.
"I'm not a babysitter, they get paid." Paul says smiling at me.
"You get to spend time with me, payment enough if you ask me." I say walking into the back to clean my room.
"More like punishment." Paul says like I can't hear him. Which is stupid because I can in fact hear everything now. Like their hearts beating and each breath they take. Fucking weird.
Once my first client comes in Paul's sitting in the corner after I explain it's for my health and we start. It's a pretty big piece on the guys ribs. Losing myself in tattooing has always been easy and now it's even easier. There's no back pain and no need to blink often or at all. Though I do, gotta at least pretend to be human here.
"No fucking way man, get out." Kit says loud, I look up the sound.
"Here I'll go check on what's going on real fast. Use the bathroom and take a juice okay?" I say to the guy putting a temporary wrap on his tattoo. "Don't touch anything." I say pulling off the gloves and throwing them while I walk to check on Kit.
"Seriously get out." Kit says again and I walk out to see him standing nose to nose with Calvin.
"Hey firework." He says looking over Kit's shoulder to wave.
"Get out Calvin. Now." I tell him. "Before I throw you out."
"Fine fine. I just came to say hi." He says sarcastically smiling at Kit. "See you around." I sigh and go back into the back room.
"All good?" Paul asks and I nod. "Good. When's lunch?" I laugh pulling on new gloves.
"Whenever you want. Take the car if you need." I tell him before sitting back down with the client. "Ready?" He nods and I get back into it.
-
"I'm like tired but not tired." I say getting into the car with Paul. Which was another shitty thing aside from the light burning my throat did every night, no more naps. Shitty.

"And you can't sleep. Ha!" He says flipping through my music selection. "Alright love songs or sad songs."
"Mmm sad love songs." I tell him pulling the car out of the parking lot.
"Alright." He says putting something on, and it is, drumroll pleaseeeee, Leave You Alone, by Jeezy. If you don't know this song, one go listen and two what is wrong with you?
"Let's see some real speed." It's always empty on the streets at this time and while I always go fast Ruby can go faster, and now I have the eye sight and reflexes to go max speed.
"Wait." He says pulling out a different cd and changes them. "Gotta do it right." He turns the volume up as Tokyo Drift comes on. I smile and hit the gas. Paul whoops as I continue to speed up. This is amazing.
-
"Hello firework." Calvin says when he finds me after my hunt.
"What?" I ask him picking up the deer carcass, the tribe says to bring them the carcasses so they can use the other parts of the bodies so it's not a waste.
"Just came to say hi. What you don't miss me?"
"Not particularly." I say shrugging. "As far as I'm concerned you're just another extra I went to high school with."
"Breaking my heart here." He says holding his chest. "Look I just came to ask a question."
"So ask." I say shifting my weight. Not that I needed to, it just felt right.
"Who turned you?"
"No idea. Got attacked in a club bathroom."
"Got a power? Or do you not know?"
"You said one question." I tell him. "Gotta blast, later Cullen." I turn just to find him standing in front of me.
"Answer the question Celeste." He says and I feel the need to answer even if I don't want to, so I don't.
"Go fuck yourself on a knife." I say and he looks genuinely confused. "Now move."
"No no. Come back." He says and again I feel the pull to listen but I ignore it and keep moving. "So answer you have a power you just don't know what it is." Ignore him and keep walking away, no need to speed away I'm chilling. "Are you going to the Voltori?"
"The fuck is Voltori?"
"Oh good so you're not going there." He says smiling as he comes to walk next to me. "So powers how about we experiment with them later? Sound fun?"
"You fucking back off to wherever you disappeared too sounds more fun actually." I tell him.
"See you later for play time." He says winking before he disappeared.
"Fucking leech." I mutter to myself before vamp speeding over to Emily's. Can't stand his dumbass.
-
"Come out to play." I hear while I lay in bed with Achilles while I sketch out some new tattoo ideas for a flash sheet. I'm tempted to ignore him but knowing him he won't go away. Fucking annoying ass mother fucking bastard. I sigh and get up to change because bitch if anyone sees me I need to look hot, like always. I finish pulling on my docs before I jump out of my bedroom window.
"Let's get this over with." I say leading him into the forest away from civilization. We stop in a dead meadow and I turn to face him. "Well let's get this over with."
"Yes we'll see I'm not sure how to do this."
"So you dragged me out of my house for no reason?" I yell. "What the fuck?"
"Alright calm down let's just talk for a minute, and we can figure it out." Calvin says sitting on the ground and patting the dirt next to him. I scoped and go lean against a tree, because the fuck I look like sitting on the floor. "So here's what we know. You're sister has some type of mind block, Charlie also has a similar block however not as solid as hers."
"Right how does that help?"
"Would you just wait." Calvin says rolling his eyes. "We also know Renee lacks any sort of mind block. Her mind is actually so loud she can kind of manipulate others into hearing what she wants and making them comply with trying."
"What makes you think that? Manipulative as she may be, there's no proof of that."
"We'll see Bella didn't want to come to Forks but without telling Bella that's what she wanted her to do, Bella did it."
"Okay in theory she has some type of manipulation what does that have to do with me?"
"I think you can manipulate others gifts or powers." Calvin says. "Because despite Renee's powers you never bend to her. Then Edward, Alice and Jasper."
"What about them?"
"Alice can only see things that you do when they're completely out of your control. It's always been rare she sees you." He says putting up one finger. "Edward, can only read your thoughts when they get to random or you project them. And Jasper, most of us can only tell he's manipulating our emotions after he's done it. You not only know when he was doing it as it was done, you also never actually let him effect your emotions."
"So I'm Bella but different." Shocker there's it's it like we're twins.
"Well yes but no. There's also me."
"You have a gift?" I ask raising an eyebrow. "Well what is it?"
"Compulsion. I can make people do what I want with no problem. Except you." Ha it's because I'm better than them. "I used it on you twice earlier and you ignored it and then you turned it on me."
"Okay?" I am so confused.
"Right so I think you use someone's power against them. So you have a semi shield and then a mirror or copy cat gift. And I think with practice you can perfect any gift once you get used to it. It also shows that's there's a good chance that semi shield you have, isn't yours it's you just copying Bella's."
"Holy shit. I'm gonna be so fucking amazing." I say laughing. "So wanna practice?"
"Alright, kiddo let's play."

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
