《A Dragon Rider's Element》Don't Forget The Sun ( 26 )

Time seemed to stall as I watched Ty. His chest rose and fell slowly as he laid on the ground with blankets and a washcloth draped over his head. His fever worsened as we tied to cool him down but to no avail.
We waited for him to wake, however, he showed no sign of doing so. My heart dropped every time his breath hitched, which was often.
Even Raikou showed the same weakness as his rider. The gold dragon sadly hung his head as he loomed over Ty's unconscious body, protecting him.
The silence between the team was uneasy as we watched Ty suffering before us. Until Jason broke the silence.
"Alright, guys he isn't going to wake up anytime soon." Jason started and we stared at him in silence, "And he said himself that we got to make our move. And it's not like he's going to be moving anytime soon." Jason continued standing up.
"What are you saying?" Ray questioned.
" We go to with the plan. Go to Niagara Falls."
"Ty can't fly, Jason" Alex stated blankly.
"So, we don't need him. We have our own elemental", He gestured to me as he continued," he's only slowing us down anyway. We leave him as simple as that."
Raikou growled angrily at Jason's words but I was the one to act. In one swift motion, I shot up and slapped Jason as hard as I could across his face.
He stumbled back from me and cupped his reddened cheek. A looked of shock clear on his face.
Everyone was silent.
Rage boiled up inside of me as my hair burst into flames.
" You so much as think of that again! I will punch you 'til your ears bleed! Got it!" I hissed as I shoved him harshly causing him to fell.
He crawled quickly away from me until he reached his dragon. Even Storm seemed to draw back in fear of me.

"If you want to know what we are going to do then listen up." I barked my hair still ablaze.
"We are going to the stupid bloody waterfall and we are taking Ty with us, he'll ride with me and we will stop and take breaks for Raikou to rest. And to anyone who doesn't like it. Well, I don't care.", I ordered.
"Yep, got it." Ray said he pulled up a frighten Alex and dragged him away," We will pack."
"Yep, Pack. Packing sounds good. We'll do that. The Packing." Alex stuttered as he held onto Ray.
I glared at Jason as he sat motionless on the ground. The left side of his face was still red. My handprint clear. Part of me hoped that it would bruise.
"Well", I warned.
"Good plan." He said as he got up and ran to join the others.
I let out a long sigh as my hair died down. I sat back down next to Ty. Then Athena's kind voice entered my ears.
" Well, that was...something."
I scoffed at her words but said nothing.
"I personally wouldn't have stopped after a slap though."
"If I didn't stop myself I think I would have killed him."
"True. You were quite heated. "
"Really" I laughed.
"I thought it was funny."
The others soon returned to tell me they were done packing the gear. I asked Alex to help me with Ty. Which took a few different tries but we got it. Ty ended up being draped across Athena saddle. I would have to hold him but he would be fine. I mounted Athena and Raikou walked next to us and we jumped into the sky. Raikou never left our side as few.
After a few hours of flying, I saw that Raikou was growing weary and shared his riders, fatigue. So I called for the others to land.

Alex helped me with Ty. Raikou walked over and laid his head next to Ty nudging him softly. Silently begged for his rider to wake.
I gently patted Raikou's head as I sat down a few feet away from the pair with Athena.
"You should rest too. Ty wouldn't want you to work yourself too hard."
I was about to protest but I was cut off by myself yawning.
"Sleep well, my rider."
With that, my world fell into darkness and I with it.
I opened my eyes ending my sleep. However, when I did I was met with a familiar scene before me.
The dreamscape.
Before my thoughts could wander as to why I was here a voice called to me.
"Hello again, my dear."
I turned around and saw Sardis or Zeref standing behind me.
" Who I'm I talking too?" I questioned.
He gave a short laugh before he bowed at me.
"Sardis, the one and only. Zeref may be using my body but my mind is still free," he explained.
" The first time I was here, was it you?"
"Yes, however, I had to watch what I said to you. Zeref was watching me very closely."
"Is he watching us now?"
"No, I don't want to brag but I'm quite sneaky when I need to be." He smirked.
"Good to know." I smiled back at him.
"Speaking of the need to knows. I'm here to warn you."
"About what?"
"Zeref knows that you're going to Tenaglia. He's sent his strongest to the Falls to try and kill Tenaglia before you arrive. You must hurry and warn Tenaglia before he gets there. Do you understand?" Sardis explained.
"I do."
"Good, there is one other thing you must know. One of the new riders is working with Zeref. I don't know who. I never saw his face and Zeref has blocked me from his memories. So you must be careful." He said grimly.
"I will. Don't you worry."
"I hope so. Now we don't have much time before Zeref figures out what I doing. The rider that Zeref spoke with said he did something to my brother, is he well?", Sardis asked uneasily.
I couldn't form the words as I only shook my head. Sardis dropped his head sadly. Then he shocks his head in disbelief.
"No, the rider said he poisoned him with one of Zeref's potions. But it should affect him that badly because of his magic. He should be fine."
" He doesn't have any magic right now," I said quietly.
" What! How is that possible."
" He uses all the power to break the curse Zeref placed on me... I'm sorry Sardis." I said in shame as I dropped my head.
There was a deathly silence between us for a moment before walked over to me and pulled me into his warm arms. He smiled at me reassuringly as he spoke.
"Don't blame yourself, my dear. Tyranis is strong and will recover with time. Besides, I know you are too. Tyranis wouldn't have used all his magic to saved you if he didn't think so."
I hugged him back as I started to fade from the dreamscape.
"Take care of my brother and be safe."
With Sardis' words, I returned to the real world.

The Yes-Mage
Plenty of people have stopped and asked what it'd be like to simply have everything, and Sylvain Henry Camille Johansson was no different. He was a man who had a lot of things going on, with a name that'd make a supervillain blush and a family who'd make even the useless of their rank into someone important. It was a shame, then, that he was slapped with a dreadfully unfortunate condition that kept him from living up to any of those already low expectations. Stuck living a life where magic is everywhere while he's left working with nothing more than a moderate intellect, a little bit of whatever influence he could get from his family, and a lifetime's practice at making himself the ideal subordinate for his bosses' boss, Vane was still beating the odds and slowly working his way up in the world. When the cunning yes-man finally got a chance to really make a name for himself, he leapt at the offer, taking his first real step onto a road he knew he was always meant to walk. His goal? Nothing less than finding out why he and too many other unfortunate souls are barred from the wonderful world of the higher energies, and with any luck, fixing it. Of course, life has a knack for interfering in even the humblest of plans, and Vane's lofty ideals were anything but humble; he was practically a walking bullseye for disaster. The funny thing about catastrophe, though, is that nobody can ever say what form it's going to take. That’s why, when it all went wrong for Vane, he'd gotten everything he'd ever wanted foisted onto him, and Everything else, too. Watch as a man so used to saying 'yes' to everyone above him finds himself stuck with the power to make reality itself say it back.
