It's been a week since the party and I just can't get that woman out of my head. I keep thinking about her often. I come out of my thoughts when Justin, my personal assistant, calls my name.

"Mr. Kingston, you have a meeting with Mr. Harrison in 5 minutes", he tells me

"Okay let's go. Do you have all the things needed for the meeting", I ask him

"Yes, Mr. Kingston, everything is ready"

Mr. Harrison has a few hotels in LA but his business isn't doing too well these days. The hotels are at prime locations and I am proposing to buy them and turn them in to Kingston Hotels. So today's meeting is about that proposal. I hope that he agrees and we get the deal. Mr. Harrison arrived at the meeting.

"Hello Mr. Harrison", I greet him shaking hands

"Hello Mr. Kingston"

"You already know the agenda of this meeting. So let's get started, shall we? ", I said coming straight to the point.

"Of Course Mr. Kingston, let start the meeting"

The meeting went smoothly and Mr. Harrison was impressed by our proposal. So we signed the deal.

"It's good doing business with you Mr. Harrison"

"Pleasure is all mine, Mr. Kingston", he said shaking his hands with mine and then left.

"Justin, please set up a meeting with the architecture team and interior design team after lunch"

"Yes Mr. Kingston, I will send the meeting invite right away. Anything else", he asks

"Nothing else, you may leave", I say waving my hand

I had my lunch. After that, I had a meeting with the architecture team and interior design team. I told them about the deal and told them to get ready with the first draft of designs in two weeks.

Later in the evening, I was reviewing the presentation required for tomorrow's meeting. Suddenly my phone rings and I check that my dad is calling me.

"Hey dad", I answer the call

"Adrian, your grandfather had a heart attack. We are at the hospital with him", he said

"Which hospital?", I asked

"North Shore Hospital", he replied

"Ok, I am coming", I say and cut the call

I quickly got into my car and left for the hospital. I love my grandfather so much and I can't imagine anything happening to him. I think about the fun times I had with him. I reach the hospital and get out of my car and go to the receptionist.

"I am looking for Henry Kingston", I asked the receptionist

"Just a minute, let me check". She checked in her system. "He is undergoing surgery currently", she told me

I ask her where it is and she tells me the way to the operation theatre. I reached there and see my parents sitting there.

"Hey mom and dad", I greet them both.

They greeted me back and my mom hugged me and started crying.

"Don't worry mom, he is going to be fine"

"What happened, dad?"

"We were just talking and suddenly he complained about chest pain. We brought him to the hospital. The doctors checked and told us that he had a heart attack and he needs surgery"

It's been a few hours since the surgery started and we are waiting anxiously. After a few while, the doctor came out of the OT.

"How is my grandfather?", I ask him

"The surgery has been successful and your grandfather is out of danger", he tells us. We are all relieved after hearing that.

The doctor is still talking when I get a call from Lydia and I go to answer that. It was Lydia's birthday two days back. So Connor took her to Italy for one week to celebrate her birthday. There are still three days for their trip to complete and I did not want her to stress about this since grandfather is fine now. I decided not to tell them about it.

"Hello Lydia"

"Hello Adrian, how is grandfather". I was shocked that she already knew.

"How did you know about it", I asked her pinching my nose.

"I called mom, but she wasn't lifting her phone so I called the landline. Carolyn told me that mom and dad took grandfather to the hospital"

"Yes, I am in the hospital right now", I told her about the surgery. It's no use hiding it from her now because she will know about it one way or another.

"Ok, we will come back tomorrow", she said crying.

"There is no need for it. The doctor said that he is fine and please don't cry"

"There is no way I am going to enjoy my vacation while grandpa is in hospital"

"Ok, as you wish. Take care of her Connor", I say knowing very well that it's on speaker.

After the call, I went back to my parents.

"Who were you talking to", my mom asked.

"It was Lydia"

"What did she say, is she enjoying there? "

"She knows about grandpa and she is coming back tomorrow"

"They have three more days left"

"Yes but you know how stubborn she is", I sigh

"Did the doctor say anything else?", I ask my dad.

"He said that tonight your grandpa will be in the post-op ICU and no one is allowed to visit. So there is no need for any of us to stay here tonight. They will be shifting him to his room tomorrow morning", dad replied.

My parents left after that. I sat there for some more time. I didn't want to leave but there's nothing I can do staying here either. So I decided to leave. Before leaving I went to the ICU door and looked at my grandpa through the small see-through glass.

Suddenly someone bumps into me. I turned around and saw that it was her, the woman I saw at the party. I didn't think I would meet her again. So she is a doctor. Beauty with brains, I like that.

"Sorry, didn't see you there", she tells me in her sweet voice. She is so beautiful even in her scrubs and I kept staring at her.

"Excuse me", she says pointing at the door. I tell her sorry and move aside from the door. Great, now she will think I am a creep.

She came out after some time and was leaving.

"How is my grandfather", I asked her.

"He is fine, just asleep because of the sedatives", she replied.

"Don't worry, we will be checking on him whole night Mr. Kingston", she said

"Thank you....", I said looking at her

"Ava Smith, you can call me Ava", she replied.

"Thank you, Ava, and you can call me Adrian", I tell her.

"No need to thank me Mr.....Umm... Adrian. It's my job"

I didn't know what else to say. We both stood there silent for some time.

"Umm... I need to check on some other patient", she said.

"Yeah sure"

She left and I kept looking at her till she was out of sight. Stop it, Adrian, she already has a boyfriend, I thought and sighed. After that, I left for home.
