《Whodunnit ?》Chapter 2 - The First Impressions

"Ladies and gentleman. The last two guests are Miss Hannah Taylor & Mr. Alec Kallimaster." Giles cheered slightly. Trying to raise the surprising nervous tension in the room.
Some guests joined in with the cheers.
Some guests just stayed quiet.
And others just continued slushing down champagne.
But one of them was the killer. One of them was watching everyone's move. Carefully eyeing up the guests, wondering who on first impressions who could be their worthy adversary.
Giles knew this too. But he knew that he couldn't interfere as he knew that if he did, his life would be at stake.
And for that reason, Giles excused himself from the room and let the guests socialize. "My dear guests I am afraid that I must retire to my butler's headquarters. The estate bell will ring later this afternoon, I suggest that you dress smartly. The first night here at Rue Manor will be one that I doubt you will ever forget."
Reynold, Jamie, Brianna & Nelson all smirked in excitement, all very eager for their first night at Rue Manor will intake.
Greg & Natalie furrowed their eyebrows in slight confusion. Curious to why Giles was acting fidgety and nervous during his speech.
As Giles disappeared out of the great room. Many of the guests finally engaged in conversations.
"Hey, I'm Hannah." Hanna greeted the small group of Nelson, Talia & Dan who were all relaxing on the long couch of the great room.
"Dan. You definitely dressed for the occasion." Dan chuckled, teasing Hannah almost for dressing a bit over the top for it only being noon.
"It's good to dress for big occasions, though. This manor looks amazing I can't wait to explore!" Talia gushes, squealing slightly like a little child.
"Yeah, I agree." Nelson smiles. "This manor is like a maze. Much bigger than my working departments."

"Much better than mine as well." Hannah chuckled. Often being used to designing expensive jewelry for V.I.P clients.
"Oh really, what do you do?" Talia asks Hannah, still slightly squeaking again.
"I'm a jeweler." Hannah states.
"Charity worker." Nelson adds in on the conversation. The group gives Dan an expecting look, eager to find out his occupation.
Dan gave a cocky look to the other three on the couch. "You all probably know who I am." Dan started to explain.
"No."Hannah shook her head.
"Never." Nelson shakes his head too.
"Never seen you before." Talia squeaks.
"I'm Dan Greash ... One of the best-known footballers of today." Dan admitted. Dan was slightly shell shocked that none of the three recognized him but yet again Dan was used to being around people in the sports industry a lot. So maybe a break away from those types of people was something that he needed.
"Sorry about not recognizing you mate." Nelson apologized. Hannah & Talia also apologized quickly.
"What are you guys talking about? " Courtney suddenly intruded the conversation between the four other guests.
"Oh, we were just talking about our occupations. " Hannah smiled.
"That's cool, Guess that's a good way to start a conversation. Especially with everyone being so awkward here." Courtney chuckled before guzzling another mouthful of champagne.
"Yeah everyone here does seem a bit ...cold." Dan paused to look around at the other guests.
Courtney decided to take action and used the crystal on her finger ring to drum against the champagne glass.
"Guys!" Courtney called. Getting the other eight guests attention who before were shuffled around the great room.
"Let's all get to know another." Courtney demanded before sitting on the couch of the great room next to Dan.

Once all of the guests took a seat Courtney decided to go first.
"I'm Courtney, and I'm a lawyer."
"Hello I'm Dan and I'm a footballer for a professional Miami team," Dan said, not afraid to show off his accolades.
"I'm Nelson. I'm forty and I'm a charity worker." Nelson smiled. Charming some of the female guests.
"Hannah. Jeweler "
"I'm Brianna and I'm a kickboxer." Brianna explained her profession. Earning a few surprised looks from the male guests.
"So You're not the girl to mess with." Greg laughed, causing the whole room to finally fill with a loud chuckle.
"No, I'm not the girl to mess with. " Brianna blushed.
Alec went next. "I'm Alec and I work on an oil rig. It's kind of a lonely place up there so I'm excited to spend two weeks at this great place."
"Hey everyone." Talia greeted the guests sweetly. "I'm Talia and I dance in the NFL." Dan whistled, obviously admiring Talia as eye candy.
"I'm Reynold. Unfortunately, I'm not in my twenties anymore." This earned a few laughs, mostly from the guests who were not in their twenties their self's anymore. "And I'm a doctor."
"I'm Jamie. Very excited to be here." Jamie kept his answer sweet and short.
"I am Michelle. I'm unemployed an-" Michelle didn't get to finish her introduction as she wanted to before Justin ignorantly interrupted.
"ME TOO." Justin practically screamed, giving Michelle a quick high five. Michelle just continued on awkwardly and tried to finish her introduction.
"I'm Justin by the way."
"Ah .. yeah that's it. " Michelle quickly finished.
Several of the guests giggled at the awkward interaction.
Greg gave Michelle an apologetic smile, sorry for Justin rudely interrupting her.
"Alright, I'm next. I'm Greg and I'm a nutritionist from Texas." Greg explained in his ever so strong Texan accent.
"No surprise there." Natalie gawked, knowing that Greg's accent could only come from a certain part of America.
"Ok last but not least .. " Reynold held out his hand towards Natalie.
"I'm Natalie. I'm twenty-nine and I am a social media marketer, sucks I'll be without social media here, though." Natalie explained her occupation to the other guests.
"Oh Good! I need someone to sign me up to um ...... Oh what's it called again. Linstagrams." Greg incorrectly says the name of the popular social media app Instagram. Which sent the younger population of the guests into a barrel of laughs.
"I think you mean Instagram? And yeah I'll be glad to set you up on it. But we'll have to do it once this trips over." Natalie explained, remaining Greg about the no contact policy of the Rue Manor stay.
"So that's everyone then!" Courtney clapped her hands together.
"It's good to meet everyone." Brianna cheered, smiling at the other guests.
"Cheers guys." Justin raised from his seat, wanting everyone to join in with the cheers.
"CHEERS," The thirteen guests cheered, each of their champagne glasses chimed as they each made contact.
However what twelve of the guests didn't know was that the thirteenth was a killer.
And the killer (based on those first impressions) had already chosen their first victim.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.
