《The Gifted Seer (Bk 1 of Seer Series) (Completed)》Chapter 35 (Edited)

"I want everyone to be on high alert," I said, looking around the group that were waiting for my instructions. There was this unknown weight on my shoulders, and I couldn't help but feel as if I might not be the right person for this job. "I don't know what will happen, but as my eighteenth birthday is growing nearer, I can feel this... unrest from the Darks."
"What do you suggest?" Michael asked.
"I suggest that there is a curfew. Everyone will need to be inside before five o'clock. If you aren't close to your house by then, then stay at another Seers's house and contact your family to let them know where you are at. All Seers are required to have their porch light on from four in the evening until five thirty. I want to apologize beforehand, because I will not be able to do it." I grimaced, not liking that I will not be able to help out. "My mother still doesn't know about this, nor does she know that I am the Director."
"Will you ever tell her?" someone asked, and I could tell that they were just curious.
I shook my head. "It's better if she doesn't know," I replied. "If there are any Seers that can not reach a house by the time it is five in the evening, then stay in a hotel. I know that there are a couple of inns around places that people work. After you are in a hotel or inn, then say a protection spell to make sure that nobody can get in. Again, contact your family to tell them you are safe."
"What if we can not get to a hotel nor a Seer's house by five. What then?" someone asked.

"Contact your family and tell them how far you are. Say a protection spell to keep your car safe until you reach your house. If there something that is happening outside, do not stop and do not get out of your car."
"Why are we even doing this?" someone asked. The male scowled and glared at me when I frowned. "I mean, isn't this too much? What if nothing happens?"
"What if something does happen?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. I pointed to Cami. "Do you want to end up like that or worse? My job is to make sure that everyone is safe and not killed. There will be lives lost, and I know this. But, I want to make sure that the amount of lives lost is not that great. If that means then I have to be a bitch and force people to stay in their houses, then so be it. I am trying to make sure that you will get to see another birthday."
"That will be all. Thank you, Joes," Michael said, amused. He gave me a pointed look, causing me to close my mouth. "We will inform other groups to make sure that there are other safe houses for everyone. I will, also, make some warehouses available for anyone not close to work and need somewhere to stay." He glanced around as people murmur in agreement. "This meeting is dismissed. We'll make sure that your daughter is safe." He glanced at the parents, causing them to relax.
"Thank you," the father said before walking out with everyone. He held Murph, whom had left me and went to him while I was telling the group what to do. The father was still upset, and I knew that he was sad because he was leaving his daughter behind.

Luke was the only one that stayed as well as Michael. He walked over to me and studied me. Luke knew that I was hiding something because of the way that I turned and looked the other way. "Are you ok?" he asked, softy.
I sighed and shook my head. "I will be when all of this ends, and everyone is safe," I replied. I looked up at him and forced a smile on my face, causing Luke to frown. "Go. It's almost five, and I'll be fine."
Luke kissed my forehead before starting to walk to the entrance. He turned towards me, and I could clearly see the worry in his eyes. "Call me when you get home?" he asked.
I smiled, this time a genuine one and nodded. "Promise," I replied.
Luke smiled and nodded before leaving. He looked like that he wanted to come back, but he knew that I had to do whatever I had to do alone.
I turned to look at Michael and raised an eyebrow when I saw that he was studying me. A frown appeared on my face when he just smiled but didn't say a word. "What's the spell?"
