《Broken [FINISHED]》IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!

Since I know most of you won't read the last chapter, which is very long and merely for myself, to process my failure, I decided to do this in a separate chapter.
HERE IS HOW I WOULD HAVE LET THE STORY END:
So, there was actually only one more chapter coming up. The very final chapter and climax of the story.
This chapter would be set during the opening night of Hamilton on Broadway. As you can imagine, this is a very important night for the characters. There is a lot of energy in the air; everybody is nervous and excited.
During the afterparty, Denise gets up the stage and performs a contemporary dance to Wait For It as a surprise for Lin. She has made this choreography together with Andy and the company performs the song. This shows how she has come to terms with her dancing background and everything that happened since. It also shows that she has found her place in the Hamilton family and she won't stop dancing anytime soon.
After the performance, she grabs the mic, dedicates this performance to Lin and Vanessa, and starts telling a story. She tells the audience how she's always pulled inside herself since her parents' death, and didn't let anybody in. She says how she believed that nobody would ever be able to replace her parents. Then she tells them how Lin and Vanessa changed her life. That they taught her to be herself again, and that it's okay to cry. That she is in a happier place now than she was when she met them. Thanks to them, she has found the guts to stand up against bullying and find the most beautiful girl in the world. Then she would apologise for not giving that love back, and making life with her very difficult.

I'm just going to write out the ending of her speech here, because it's easier. "I was afraid. Afraid of bonding with you, only to have to leave afterwards. I was afraid of letting go, of losing the ones I loved. That's why I didn't want to love people in first place. But most of all, I was afraid that you would remind me too much of my parents. You're a lot like them. Lin, did you know that my that was as obsessed with West Side Story as you are with Rent? He was just as geeky and always happy. And Vanessa, I'm sure you and mom would have been best friends. She was also the quiet one, and just as smart as you are. Lin and Vanessa, I didn't want to love you, but here we are. I've learned a that by fostering me, you're not replacing my parents. You're an addition to them. And that's why I dare to say this: you're my parents now. Mom and dad, te adoro. I love you."
Okay, so obviously Lin and Vanessa (and probably everyone else in the room) are completely in tears after this speech.
The party continues on, and later that night, they take Denise apart. They tell her that they also have a surprise for her, namely that they want to adopt her. Of course, Denise starts crying (She's a teenager. Hormones are horrible. We can't blame her.) and tells them that she would love that. But that's not all! Lin and Vanessa also offer her to legally change her name from Denisabella to Denise, because she hates her name so much. Denise decides not to do this, because her crazy name is one of the few things she still has left from her parents. This also shows how much Denise has grown, because she has learnt to treasure what she has instead of focusing on what's left behind.

The party continues, not only for Hamilton but also for the family within it. At the end of the night, they go home and Denise takes the two pictures off the top shelf and places them on her bureau. They are revealed to be a family picture of her and her parents and a picture of the Von Trapp family from when she was in The Sound of Music.
And they lived a happily every after. :)

Frame of Mind (Fae Mythos: Gar Darron 1)
In a city of darkness and murder, the greatest danger is found in the mind.Alany hasn’t tracked anyone since the war, but when his lover goes missing, old skills are all he can trust. With no other leads, he is forced to contact a mysterious network of telepathic magi, and risk his sanity for hope. When the mind is no longer sanctuary, and even memories can be bartered, is there still power in love? The first book of a new series in Edward Eidolon’s Fae Mythos. A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.

System Only Gives Me Useless Gifts
Li Yun grew up with a system that gave him useless gifts. He wanted a reward that could prove the existence of the system, but ended up with abstract gifts like culture. Without physical proof, he was stuck wondering whether his mind was truly sane, all the while dealing with the reality of life. How will the "useless" system help Li Yun navigate medical school, hospital politics, criminal cases, treasure hunting, farming and cooking? Author's Note: This is a slice-of-life novel about a doctor with a mission-type system. It's written as a faux modern Chinese novel, so there are many 1-off characters and episodic mini arcs. Just a bit of warning, the tone of the story is very different after the childhood arc and jumpy as it chronicles Li Yun's life. I'm trying to make it less apparent in the rewrite, but there are still a lot of time skips. RR is the rewrite version, no set schedule. See webnovel for OG. scribblehub is a combo of both . I recommend scribblehub since it has pictures. Copyrights of the novel and cover are owned by Chocomug. Novel is free to read and download for personal use, such as offline reading, only.

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
