Chapter Forty-Two
Jealousy Be Gone
I fell asleep in the car on the ride home from the concert/my fantasy land. I woke up at around seven the next morning.
"Aw Chris, I had the most amazing dream last night. We were with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and Hunter Hayes thought I was hot, and we sang and danced with Tim McGraw and his daughters onstage and-"
"Darlin'"
"Yeah"
"Pass me your phone please"
"Why?" I questioned.
He unlocked my phone and showed me a picture of himself, Gracie, Audrey, Maggie, Faith, Tim, Hunter, Jerry and I sitting backstage having a little jam session. Chris, Tim and Hunter all had a guitar in hand and I was leaning on Chris's shoulder and watching him play. I had my VIP pass around my neck and Chris had his on the clear glass table in front of him. I briefly remember giving the phone to Jerry and asking him to take pictures for me as I would probably end up having fun and forgetting then later regretting it. I took the phone back and went through my contacts. I now had
Tim McGraw
Faith Hill
Gracie McGraw
Audrey McGraw
Maggie McGraw and
Hunter Hayes
It wasn't a dream. Last night, Chris was the best fiancé ever and got me tickets to meet my favourite singer ever and then while we were hanging out with them backstage, my next favourite singer shows up and then my fiancé had a jam session with them and everyone sang along to Tim McGraw and Hunter Hayes songs until I fell asleep on my lovely fiancé. AND by the end of the night, I had six new phone numbers in my phone; three of them belonging to country superstars. It was, by far one of the best nights of my life.
"You're the best ever!!" I exclaimed launching myself at Chris who was still half asleep. He tumbled backwards and fell onto a heap of pillows behind him. He kissed the top of my head.
"I know! You've told me a thousand times!" He laughed regaining his balance.
"A thousand isn't enough for what you did for me Chris. Nobody has ever done something that nice for me. I don't even remember telling you about my liking of Tim or Hunter" I was now kinda on a first name basis. YAY.
"I may or may not have looked through your phone once or twice to find out who you liked since you never really talk about music you like" he grinned,
"You're so sweet" I kissed his cheek.
Our little moment was interrupted when a very happy Jas came bounding into the room. He attempted to jump onto the bed but I got up and grabbed him before he could. I read that to prevent hip dysplasia (which is common in german shepherds) you can't let the puppies overwork their legs by doing things like walking or running for too long, jumping or climbing the stairs. I pulled him onto the bed and played around with him for a little bit.

"I'm gonna take him outside. But I could really use a coffee" he smiled.
"Oh alright. But just because you're cute"
He leaned in to kiss me but before he could, I handed Jas to him and pushed him toward the door.
"I don't want to have to clean dog pee off of my floors because you stuck around for a kiss, move it soldier!!" I laughed continuing to attempt to push him to the front door. Jas hasn't had one accident in the house and I didn't want it to start now.
Today, we decided to take Jas down to the beach for the first time. We figured that he would love the water and the ocean considering how much he loves taking baths. The beach was right in our backyard but Chris and I always had him on a leash so he couldn't run off.
I put on my bikini and grabbed three beach towels as well as my beach bag with sunscreen. I threw Chris's swim trunks into the bathroom where he was showering. I told him that he was probably going to get sand on him but he wouldn't take any of it. That man wanted to shower, and hell, he was gonna.
I grabbed a dog treat from under the sink and held it in front of Jas. I was starting to train him so I just held it in front of him while he tried to take it from me.
"Jasper, sit" I said drawing out my words. He still went a little ballistic.
"Jasper" he sat down on the floor.
"Stay" I set the treat on the floor in front of him. His eyes were fixed on the treat and he was drooling.
"Stay" he stayed in his place and whimpered.
"Okay" Jasper lunged from his place on the floor and devoured his treat that he now deserved. I walked over and scratched his ears. He rolled onto his back and I scratched his belly.
"Chris c'mon you're taking forever!" I yelled up the stairs.
"Yeah yeah I know" he stated while walking down the stairs. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and was trying to get the water out of his ear.
"C'mon we don't have all day"
"Uh, A: the beach is your backyard and B: technically we do have all day"
"Ha ha thank you for that Mr. Smartypants but my boy and I have been waiting for you for a while so we are going to head down to the beach while you finish getting ready kay?" I grabbed Jas's leash and my stuff and gave Chris a quick kiss on the cheek before heading out the door.
I didn't exactly know what, but something was up with Chris today. I had an idea that I did something wrong because I talked to Hunter on the phone last night but he knows Chris so he should know not to mess with him or me for that matter because Chris will kill him either way. I really wasn't too interested in talking to him because I wanted to spend my down time with Chris but I didn't want to be rude and hang up on him, so I let Hunter talk my ear off. He was trying to flirt with me the whole time and I made sure to bring Chris up from time to time but that must not have been enough. Chris was not talking to me or even looking at me for that matter while I was on the phone and I immediately thought he could have been jealous but who is he kidding? He's Christopher freaking Garrett. Hunk who just so happened to be in the military and 6'3" and like, two hundred pounds of pure muscle and could be a male model if he tried. Not to be rude or anything but Hunter Hayes may be good looking, but he was Christopher Garrett.

Chris came down to the beach about twenty minutes later with a book in his hand and a blanket in the other. He spread the blanket on the sand as Jas was trying to eat the waves. He sat down opening his book without casting so much as a glance over at me.
"Is something wrong hun?" I asked crawling over towards him.
He didn't say anything. He just flinched and shook my hand away when I touched his arm.
"C'mon Chris tell me what's wrong"
"You know what I'm upset about Nicole" he spat.
"Is this about Hunter when he called me last night?" I asked.
"You know"
"Oh Chris honey, what do you think was gonna happen? Did you think after meeting one of my favourite singers ever that I would completely forget about my super-hot fiancee and go run off into the sunset with him on a white horse?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Well now that you say that, it sounds stupid, but essentially yes that is what I thought. I mean, he's a good-looking guy and bonus he happens to be overwhelmed with money and fame" he said getting a little bit angered toward the end.
"Chris honey, what part of 'I love you' don't you understand? I am a one man kinda girl. And the one man I want is named Christopher Garrett and he is sitting in front of me pouting because he can't trust me enough to wave off a guy who is practically throwing himself at me" I held up my left hand and showed my ring "see this ring? This ring was given to me by my lovely Christopher Garrett. And by wearing it, I am promising him that I would be with him for the rest of my life until the day I die and beyond. And that Chris is not the man sitting in front of me right now. My Chris wouldn't be worried that a less attractive guy who I know very little about was trying to pull me away from him because he knows that I'm a big girl and he trusts that I am I am in love with him and I plan to grow old with him. Not the other guy, That Chris, is the man that I am madly in love with. Not this jealous Chris who won't talk to me over something as childish as this. I want my Chris back because I miss him." I said pratically out of breath and almost fuming.
He closed his book and looked at me; dumbfounded. His expression softened and his eyes returned from their cold state back into the soft blue-grey ones that I find myself getting lost in every time I look into them. The man I was in love with had returned.
"I know how childish I was acting and I'm sorry. But it's just because I know you can do better than me. And I don't want you to find that person; ever. The way you were acting around Hunter the other day just made me feel like you had found him" he said wrapping me in his arms.
"Chris there is no one more perfect in this world for me than you. Our hands fit together perfectly and so do our lips and I love you with everything I have inside of me. Not Hunter, you. I love you Christopher and it doesn't matter whether I can do better or not, it's the fact that I don't want to that matters" I smiled.
"I think you're going to have to give me a refresher course on that whole 'our lips fit together perfectly' thing" he said smirking and pulling me close to him.

Picture of Hunter Hayes above!! :D
YAY I love this chapter. I got a little stuck about halfway through but I'm happy with how the ending turned out. Nicole and Chris can dig themselves a hole but somehow they always find a way to climb out.
Okay keep commenting and voting it means a lot! Have a safe and merry Christmas my lovely readers!!
Happy reading!
