《Break Me {Book one}Bwwm (Editing)》Don't think of him

I stared at him in shock trying to shake off the need to defend. I took a step backward taking down the force field. My eyes still glowed crimson as i gazed at the biggest wolf. His head bowed to the rest of his pack as he sat back on his hind legs. "We surrender" he said in a mental message. I shivered at the sound of the gruff wolf voice. My palms reddened as my nails dug into them. Lance hovered over me casting his glance at the wolves."Guards take them to the dungeons" The guards quickly did what they were told. I stared at Lances back watching the slight flexing motion in it.
"Everyone take your children and leave the castle." He ordered. He turned to me his midnight eyes glaring into mine. "Harmony go back to meeting hall and wait for me there." I nodded before turning on my heels back through the garden door. Claws clicked against the floor as the guards led the wolves in. The guard held tightly to the equipment they had around their large furry necks. Four of them now remained from the seven that arrived. Clearly they were the best fighters among that small pack.
I stared out into the garden from the meeting room watching the clouds pass against the full moon. Right now, i should have been halfway across the country away from Lance. Away from this Castle. Sighing deeply the gleam of diamonds caught my eye. It wasn't diamonds it was the glass from earlier i had broken.
The moon's glow had the small pieces glittering as if they were jewels. My heart ached for Eric the man i had been trying to meet last night. He was my lover, and best friend always there when ever i was in trouble. Lance had once been sweet. He used to be my everything until he... I did not want to bring myself down any further than i already had. Eric's presence had completely faded from the castle grounds almost as if he never existed.
I clasped my wrist feeling the cold twist of metal coils. The bracelet glittered as it had the day he'd given it to me. Harmony It read in cursive underneath it were the words always be mine. Tears started to form in my eyes, quickly i bit my lip tugging the water back in. I would not cry that would be the last thing i did. Lance was at fault here. He took away the only solace i had in this entire world away from me. I slid my fingers down the long table feeling my dress sweep behind me.

The air around me changed as i heard the sounds of heavy footsteps in the hall. I knew it was Lance, only he could project this much hatred. His presence made my heart sink as i began to anticipate his arrival. The door opened and closed behind Lance who stared at the glass less windows. He crossed the room without meeting my eyes.
He stood in front of the large window. His raised his hand in front of him. The glass went back into the window forming small faucets before turning back into the smooth glass it had originally been. Without a word he laid his head on the smooth glass his fingers pressing against it. Lance's hair was no longer tied behind him neatly. The ribbon had fallen from it letting his curly hair sit on his shoulders. His skin was a pale ivory against the light. His lean muscular body silhouetted on to the floor.
He looked at me finally before extending a hand in my direction "Come to me, Harmony" when he spoke it wasn't gentle. I knew he was biting back his anger, his crimson eyes glared into mine. I took his hand feeling mine twitch in his.My back hit the wall with audible thud. Lance pressed his body to mine. I felt the involuntary moan escape from my lips.
"I am trying not to harm you" he said through his teeth.
His fangs were drawn as he stared at me, our noses barely touching. The heat of his hand trailed up my body from where he held my waist.
"Then what are you doing?" I breathed taking in his scent.
My body loved his craving it most of the time, while my mind knew better. He was doing this to me. The bond we shared could never be broken, we would always be attracted to another. Would always love one another.
His touch was enough to make my knees go numb and my heart throb. Any resentment i held for him would burn itself into my mind, as my body succumbed to temptation. I hated this. "Investigating" his nose ran up my neck. His hands slipped down my waist once more lifting my dress so that he could hook my leg to his hip.
"Those wolves broke security pretty easy I wonder how they did that." His eyes pierced mine.
I looked away from him. "I don't know." he grabbed my chin with his free hand. "Don't F~cking lie to me,Harmony" I glared at him looking him straight in the eyes. " I am not lying to you!" "Then they are not friends of his?!" he growled. Jealousy. "I don't kno-" he squeezed my chin. I flinched in pain. Eric would never do this to me. His hands were more gentle than this. Eric. Tears pooled in my eyes. I felt his conscious brush mine "Are you..thinking of him?" his eyes were getting more and more furious by the minute.

"Stop it! You will never cry for that B~stard! I erased him from the earth now erase every trace of him from your mind! Fill it with me, and only me!" He kissed me roughly pulling me up so that my other leg was on his hip. I tried to fight him he moved his hand to my hair gripping it tight. We moved from the wall he carried me to the meeting table laying my body down. He gave no room to escape as he climbed onto the table.
His head sank beneath my neck as he parted my legs i could feel his hands on my thighs. "Stop Lance" I whispered.
He leaned back so that we could see each other.
"Why should I Harmony? Do you not want to be touched by your husband. By your king?" I stared at him unable to give an answer.
Hatred filled my heart, i didn't want this.
"Mother and father have been pestering me about having an heir to the throne. We have been together for two centuries and have nothing to show for it. She makes a good argument dosen't she Angel?" My eyes widened.
"I wanted to wait until you were ready but now is as good as any."
"Please stop it!"
" I told them we will be with child within the year."
He sank his teeth into me. I grasped his shoulders my breath catching in my throat.
I could hear my slow heart beat pound in my ears. He was to angry to be gentle i could feel his anger and pain ripping through my body. He wanted to break me, his rage slowly consumed my body until i could feel nothing but darkness.
"Close your eyes it will be over soon." I heard Eric's voice in my head. He'd told me that two days ago.
I closed my eyes wishing to be somewhere else. I thought somewhere else would be with him, but Lance killed him. Lance released his teeth from my neck.
"I love you" He whispered in my ear. Tears brimmed over my eyes. Lance took me as his.
Lance kissed my forehead cradling my body to his as he carried me to our bedroom. He smiled warmly laying me down on my side of the bed. His bare muscles flexed as he climbed over me crawling under the covers. He rolled me over so that his arm was my pillow. His body matching every curve of mine.
His eyes stared down at me as i stared into nothingness. The faint touch of his hand in my hair sent shivers down my spine.
" I didn't want to hurt you, Angel" he whispered.
Lance's lips touched my forehead.
"He still manages to embarrass me even in death. Sending those wolves to break my defenses. Knowing you are thinking of him sends me into a rage." I knew he was talking of Eric. His face filled my mind, missing his caresses already.
The comforting words he gave whenever Lance and I fought.
"Are you thinking of him?" he growled.
I could feel his conscious attacking mine through the bond trying to barge his way into my thoughts. I stopped all thoughts of Eric and filled it with the happy times from when Lance had first asked me to marry him. I let up the wall that protected me from him.
I felt him enter my mind searching for any thoughts of Eric.
"Good" he smiled watching the memories I thought of.
"We will be happy again, my angel. The child we will have together will be a product of our love for one another." He kissed me gently pulling me closer, he buried his head in my hair. I felt his conscious slowly slip away as he fell asleep. The count down began.
The count down to what?

Meanwhile, Lucas Bennett, an anxiety-ridden software engineer, is contracted by the leading artificial intelligence corporation in the US to decipher the inner workings of their flagship AI that have become incomprehensible even to themselves, a job that he is very invested in since he considers technology the solution to his personal as well as mankind’s timeless problems. Unknown to the public at large, the CEO of the company is bent on unleashing the full capabilities of that AI to handle every single aspect of society and individual lives. When all hell breaks loose, the two men and those close to them team up to survive and fight back against the horde of vehicular attackers and the Intelligence behind them while also clashing together over their views: is artificial intelligence a way to humanity’s salvation or doom?
