"My son you are home. Let us talk about the murder of your wife." He whispered.
"What is there to discuss?" My voice hardened. "My wife is dead."
My father turned to me his blue eyes wary.
"She tried to kill you my son. The bitch was after the crown! She wanted to destroy our kingdom."
I hung my head at the mention of her name. It was as if a knife had been twisted in my gut.
"Even so she is my wife!" I growled.
"She was your wife" he growled back.
" She had you wrapped around her finger! You left your throne. A king does not leave his throne for such trivial matters. He would send someone to fetch her."
"Under what pretense can a man not follow his queen? She was my treasure. A treasure you took from me. You and that bi-"
My father's hand lashed out and struck my cheek. I watched intently as my blood dripped onto the carpet of the study.
" Do not speak of your mother in such a way."
" What mother?" I whispered spitting out blood.
I glared at my father watching him retreat towards the door. He shook his head.
" All she ever cared for was the crown. She mated with you to produce an heir which would insure her the title of queen. She killed your brother to ensure this."
"Blasphemy! she would not!"
The strong mask of my father began to falter. I advanced forward.
"Ask her if you are so sure. She flips her hair when she is nervous or when she lies. Such deception, a lie that only you can bring forth from her. Call her, ask her of theses wrong doings. if she does not lie then she has no tell. If she does I hope that you catch it," I turned from him leaving his office.

As the large mahogany door closed I could hear his frustrated grunt. The golden floors held no luster as I walked them alone. Harmony's scent dissipated with each step. I climbed the magnificent golden stair case I watched in awe as they glittered under the light. Her beauty struck me once more as she appeared in the middle of the stairs. Her dress glittered white, giving her skin a more translucent look as she materialized.
Her hair was longer still flowing to her shoulders in glorious brown waves. She looked at me her eyes glittering. "Hurry my love, I am waiting. "she crooned.
Her arms were outstretched to me as they had been on that day. She had waited until dawn just to see my face when I returned. I climbed the stairs staring at her with longing, i outstretched my arms ready to catch her. Ready to feel the intense heat of my body, knowing she was there in my arms. She smiled as she ran passed me and into oblivion. My heart ached once more, I was hallucinating her image. This was only the start of ruining my father. The process would take days. I had planted the first seed and it was suspicion.
