Your highness you cannot be serious?" Ahren said looking into Charles eyes. Charles looked soley ahead his face placid. I myself could not belief what he had just said. A war with the wolves was he insane? the balance between werewolf kind was already hanging on a thin thread. The only allies we had were the royal wolves and he to casted them away.
This war would be the undoing of many of our kind. "Sir the wolves are-" "Expendable" Charles growled. "I agree the wolve have been undermining our authority for two long." Marcus whispered lowly. He sat at the end of the table his hands cuped together as he thought. He was one of the oldest of the house elders that attended the meeting. His skin was a pale ivory and his hair was long going to his shoulders.
The man was more than eight hundred years old nearly older than charles by a century. His deep green eyes glanced across the table at the other elder Alexander. Alexander was by far the oldest vampire to hold the elder position in his house hold. He was more than two thousand years old and by far the wisest of us all. This man i heard rumors.
He was the cruelest man to work for beating maids for incompetence, and kicking buters whom were not on scheadule. He stared at Charles with admiration his hands planted firmly on each side of the table. His long white hair mirrored Marcus though his eyes were a deep set brown. Alexanders skin looked to be as thin as a sheet of paper though i knew power was hiding underneath.
"Then we all understand each other." Charles said. "Anyone with any differences come forth no-" "War is not what is needed right now."I cut him off. "Our problems should be with humans finding out about our existence. That new tale that has spread across-" I was cut off by a low growl.
I shot daggers at Charles as i continued to speak."America has become annoying. Twilight i belive we need to be more careful than before." "With all due respect your highness. We are creatures of the night, we are rarely seen in the day. I am sure that the covens in America already have a plan for that. They do not need our words." Marcus said with a smirk.

"Or do you have some connection with the wolves to not want a war." "I have no connection to the wolves. The royal wolves protected us under King Edward and Queen Esmerelda, they should be given-"
"As you said your highness protected now they do not have a purpose but taking up space." Alexander responded.
"The war will kill many let alone alert humans of our presence here. This is not the seventeeth century that our secret can easily be secured with lives. They have mass communication now, humans live longer. What of the hunters when they learn of this?"
"The hunters should expect this has it not been brewing for years?"Charles said.
I hated the attention I was bringing to myself, but it had to be said. I looked at my sons friend for assistance. It was a poor move on my part, but i needed the support. He looked at me then at the table.
"I agree with the Queen your highness. This is a new Era."
"All in favor of war say aye."
There were five yes and three no. The war would proceed.
"This is rediculous! The old and powerful make the war yet, we send our children to fight it. Proceed with your meeting. Excuse me."
I moved from under the table looking at no one as i passed. I could feel Charles trying to yell at me through the bond, but i ignored him.
I watched from the balcony of our room as the others left. I could see Ahren staring up at me before he climbed into his black charger and drove away. I had gotten so worked up at the meeting it slipped my mind to ask him whether my son was okay.
I hadn't seen him since the night of his break down. How could any mother be asked to end the life of a child she had given birth to? I wasn't the best mother I had known that. I was to afraid of Charles to raise him myself.
To afraid he would pick up the bad habits of his mother. "Open the door Elizabeth." Charles growled lowly. A shiver went through my body at his voice. It was just another effect of being mates. I could feel his anger toward my outburst.
It was his decision that i should be silent during the meeting, that i should be seen not heard. " Neither will i be your puppet, nor your escape goat. No! Charles, no more!" I stormed over to his private desk in the corner of our room. It was in here in knew it was. My bracelet he had stolen from me the day we got married.

I wanted it back. I rattled around in the drawers for it until i came upon a small box. "What the hell are you doing? i said open the door. Elizabeth!" He yelled. I opened the box looking at the silver glittering bracelet. Harmony be mine.
Esmerelda had given the charm me. I was sure the child was named Harmony after the song, Esmerelda's mother used to sing. Harmony be mine Esmerelda’s mother had them engraved for us. "If i break down this door, there will be trouble Elizabeth!" My heart lurched i looked toward the balcony. I would escape from there.
I heard pounding on the door knowing it was Charles trying to get in. I gave one last look as the door gave way before I jumped off the railing. I fell feet first so that I could get a running start. The sound of wind rushed passed my ears as my body began itself for impact. My mind was racing at what I had just done. I had spoken back to Charles after so many years of silence. So many years of silent torture, were now finally over.
My feet hit the ground my shoes falling apart at the impact. Ignoring it let them slide off my feet as I began to ran. The scent of rain was in the air as I ran, along with the scent of fresh vegetation. It had been a while since I had felt this free, this open to the world. It was almost as if I were a little girl again playing in the trees with Esmerelda.
The vibration of the ground alerted me at the sound of royal guards. They were on my trail trying to catch me before I reached the Wolf border. Charles was grating away at my mind through the bond. Every now and again I could hear the curse words he through my way.
Then he would set in for comforting words. I was ignoring all of them, because all of them were lies. It would never get better. He was to blinded by rage and revenge to ever get over anything. He loved me I knew that be we would never be closer with his attitude the way it was. He wanted me, but he also wanted to use me to do his dirty work.
Just as he did with Esmerelda and Edward, she had warned me he was tampering with my mind. I had not realized how right she was until I held her lifeless body in my arms. An aching pain stabbed my chest suddenly as I remember the sight. Her eyes staring at me with an intensity that could burn souls to hell, then they closed forever.
I remembered waking up from my rage to find her like that. She had known that all along this would happen; she had somehow felt it. As I tried to pull away from her, her hand still clutched the bracelet. The same bracelet that I had worn on my wrist. I remembered hearing the small whimpering sounds of a child.
I looked up to see a small child hiding under the chair. I glanced at her in surprise had she witnessed this entire thing? I started to reach out to the child when a large wolf stepped in my path. Esmerelda's body turned to dust in my hands, I glanced at the wolf in horror.
Instead of killing me as I had expected him to he instead took the child and left. To where in the world I had no clue. I jumped landing on the imaginary line that was the border. I waited for guard to catch up with me.
They dashed down the clearing wearing all black as they made their way to me. I could not believe he had sent more than twelve guards after me. “Tell your king I am no longer his queen.” I slid my ring off my finger tossing it to the guard.
I felt the chills as my body wanted so badly its symbol of Charles back. I turned on my heels deeper into wolf territory. I needed to speak with the Wolf Alpha and immediately.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
