《Doctor Who : The Emerging Robots》The Cryogenic Freezing Chamber

"So what does Earth have that's so amazing to take away for selling?"
"I thought you agreed to be quiet if we let you onboard."
"Oh no, just an excuse to get on really. What's in this room here?" The Doctor slowly began wandering towards a sliding door which opened as soon as he approached it. The room was black. Nothing could be seen. "After you, good sirs."
"I beg your pardon?" The Sedranstak raised the arms to their waists and took aim at the Doctor. He took a step back and gulped before answering.
"I said after you good sirs."
"We are not 'sirs'. Address us formally and properly."
"Sorry, after you good gender neutral robots."
"That is better. When we were made, we had no specified gender assigned to us. Do not make that same mistake again or you will suffer greatly." The guns were lowered and they allowed the Doctor to enter. The lights flickered before brightening the previously pitch black area. It wasn't something the Time Lord was expecting.
"So erm.... what... is this... room ?" He began stuttering as if he saw nothing like it before. There were people from different time periods on Earth frozen in cryogenic freezing chambers. Three layers of chambers laying horizontally gazed at the Doctor to show his astonishment. He rarely saw sights like this. In his eyes it was a lucky find.
"Here is the-"
"Oh, believe me, when you watch all 11 seasons of the X-Files, you pick up a thing or two about Sci-Fi on Earth. I can't believe it. You could make a few bob if you flog all these to some dodgy sorts." At this point, it could be considered he was grinning for Gallifrey.
"All our chambers have to be active in freeze mode for at least 30 minutes before the effect can be put in place. We have all 60 in use."

"No you don't, there's one open and empty here." A heavy panting could be heard from behind the row of chambers. Sprouts of brown hair could be seen bounce to the breaths took.
"A security breach has been detected within the room. Engaging to Attack Mode Level 2" The robots held their guns as a red laser point was aimed straight towards the head of this clueless man.
"Thanks a lot mate. One chance of escaping and you go and ruin it by getting me killed."
"It was unintentional. Believe me. Sedranstak I am begging you please. You don't have to mindlessly kill this poor man who you have clearly abducted. He's innocent. Leave him."
"He deactivated one of us. There was originally three of us but this imbecile took off its head and smashed it in with a sledgehammer."
"Oh, fair enough. Do what you want. I won't stop you." The Doctor was clearly developing a different personality compared to his past selfs, allowing someone to die by a species unknown to Earth. The guns were charged and the robots took a stance.
"Heat Seeker, Activate." One of the robots enabled a mode which didn't appear to do anything different until it fired. The bullet had a bright yellow glow to its exterior as it zoomed into the mouth of this unfortunate man. It made his face go red as his cheek ripped a small hole from the tip of the bullet. He fell forward against the chamber door he was previously shielded by, slumping down into a heap on the floor near the Doctor's feet. He had felt so much worse before but now, guilt ran through his veins. He had just let this man die for simply wanting his freedom. He was not known for this. Killing was a last resort in his eyes and he did nothing to prevent it.

"Come on, help dispose of the body."
"I refuse to." He turned his back on the robots and began walking towards the door. It suddenly without anyone touching anything slid shut with considerable force.
"You will not be going anywhere."
"Oh dear, this is the part where I'm knocked out and put inside the chamber isn't it ?"
"Indeed it is." With that statement, one of the two activated a stun gun mode which consisted of a rounded rubber bullet which had a piece of technology which caused a reflex when hit. The bullet shot across and hit the Doctor in the chest which sent him flying backwards towards the wall, smacking his head on the back of it.
He was knocked out....

Leave Bad Enough Alone
Something has been amiss in the city’s theaters as of late. The local bards have long done a respectable job of keeping the audiences entertained, weaving high concepts with skillful performances. But lately, a new set of bards, and their illusionist cohorts, have captured the crowd’s attention. Compared to the theater’s usual fare, their work is hackneyed and poorly plotted, with unskilled acting, bad special effects, and unsatisfying resolutions. Worst of all, the audiences like their work more, and these upstarts are far more profitable than the city’s decent bards! Clearly, there must be some dark secret behind the success of these newcomers, and it’s up to the city’s true artists to find out what it is and expose the conspiracy! Or maybe the city’s bards have just become too hopelessly pretentious and derivative. It’s hard to tell. But investigate it they must! Failure is not an option!
