《Breathe Princess (Daryl Dixon Love Story)》Chapter Eight

I rested my head on the window shield, Atlanta's hot weather getting to me. Rick made the decision that it would be best for us to head over to the CDC instead of staying back at camp. Morales and the rest of his family decided that it would be best if they come with us anymore, they said they had family back in Birmingham and they wanted to be with their people, which Is totally understandable; I would do the same if I was in their situation.
Shane and T-dog drove away a long time ago, in hopes of finding a replacement for the RV's radiator hose, somewhere in a gas station. It just got busted and now we are in the middle of no where, waiting for them to get back so Dale can fix the RV and we could continue our journey.
With the back of my hand, I wiped the sweat away from my forehead. I untied my hair feeling it stick on the back of my neck. I put it up in a bun, getting rid of the sticky feeling ''Annora'' Rick called making me look up.
''Yeah?'' He ran his hand through his hair instructing me to step out of the car leading me to where the group was.
As soon as I got out of the car, I spotted everyone gathered around discussing something. I tucked on Ricks shirt wanting an explanation for what the discussion might be on ''Jim''
He noticed the frightened expression on my face making him understand and confirm the point of what I was thinking about ''He made a decision; he wants to stay behind''
I felt my heart shatter as we started to drive away from Jim. I watched as his eyes fluttering shut that made my heart break even more. I could tell that Jim was really a nice man. Yes, I didn't know him for that long but I hate to see people suffer. The world that we live in right now is tough. I touched my necklace, praying that as soon as we get to the CDC; Something good happens.

I scrunched my face in disgust as we stepped over the rotten bodies heading towards the building. I accidentally tripped over a dead body making Jacqui shush me. I flushed up in embarrassment making Glenn grab me pushing me in front of him so I don't cause anymore noise. We reached the building in which the doors seemed clocked and shutters are shuttered down. There wasn't anyone there. Shane pounds on the door, heavily attracting noise towards us
''There's nobody here'' T-dog said
''Then why are these shutters down?'' Rick asked suspiciously making me look around trying to find a way in.
''Walkers!'' Daryl yelled making me panic from behind him. Daryl started to shoot the walkers that were the closest to the group.
Daryl turned around facing Rick yelling out in anger ''You led us into a graveyard!''
''He made a call'' Shane said wanting Daryl to calm down so we don't attract more walkers with the excessive noise that we were already making.
''It was a wrong damn call!'' Shane got into Daryl's face telling him to shut up. Merle clearly wasn't happy about Shane treating his brother the way that we was so he took Shane by the collar pushing him away from Daryl.
''Where are we gonna go? We can't stay here'' I announced raising my voice slightly, pacing back and forth trying to calm down both myself and the people around me.
''She's right. We can't be here. This close to the city after dark'' Lori agreed with me holding a terrified Carl close to her.
''Fort Benning, Rick. Still, an option'' Shane said making Andrea step in the conversation.
''On what? No food, no fuel. That's 100 miles'' Andrea said making Glenn laugh nervously.
''125. I checked the map'' I took a deep breath, Glenn's information wasn't making this any easier on any of us. It sure didn't take the panic away.

''All right, everybody back to the cars. Let's go. Move'' Shane said as we all started to leave but Rick made us stop once he informed us that the camera has moved. This only made Shane argue with him over the fact that he might be imagining it.
I touch his shoulder squeezing it, begging him to let it go ''Rick I'm scared, let's just leave please''
He slammed the shutters with his fists making me jump back ''I know you're in there. I know you can hear me!'' He yelled at the camera making Shane drag him away with the help of Lori.
''Everybody get back to the cars now!'' Shane yelled over to us instructing him to head on away from the building. Daryl came over to me tapping on my arm taking me with him. I clenched onto his arm terrified as more walkers started to surround us.
''Please, we're desperate. Please help us. We have women, children, no food, hardly any gas left'' Rick continued pleading making me saddened at the sight of he was handling this. He didn't expect everything to go this way.
Shane finally managed to drag Rick away, as he continued to cry out over and over again ''Please help us. You're killing us! You're killing us!''
Just as we were about to leave, the doors opened, blinding us with a bright white light. Followed by a large male figure.
I bounced my leg up and down feeling anxious. Dr. Jenner the man who let us in, said if we wanted to stay we have to take blood tests. I wasn't the most keen on needles especially because of my illness. I didn't want him to figure out any of my issues. He's going to know everything and he's going to tell Rick.
I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard somebody call out my name ''What?''
''You're the last one'' Dr. Jenner stated making my heart skip a beat. I nervously stood up walking towards the chair, taking a seat.
I breathed in and out staring at Dr. Jenner. I questioned if I had to do this, getting yes as a short and simple response. I extended my arm out slowly after Rick called out my name in a serious tone, needing me to get it over with.
I felt him stick the needle in my veins, stinging more than the last time I remembered ''Ow''
''You're good'' He mumbled making me give him a cold look. As soon as he finished, I started to immediately feel dizzy. I stood up, my legs felt wobbly. People started to notice the phased look on my face, I looked tired; I am tired. My head started to throb and I wasn't feeling any good. My eyes started to close and I slowly fell back into a pair of muscular arms.
