《Breathe Princess (Daryl Dixon Love Story)》Chapter Twenty

I spotted Daryl marching his way over to the horse stables. I glared at his back 'What does he think he's doing?' I huffed out through my nose ready to stop whatever he's going to do.
But that was not it. I couldn't stop him because Carol was ready there ready to wipe his ass back to his tent. I tip toed to the building pressing myself to the wall. I chewed the bottom of my lip listening to their argument.
''Hershel said you need to heal'' Carol screamed, clearly the concern seeping through her voice.
''Yeah, i don't care'' Daryl spat out clearly not wanting to give any shits about what anyone's says after that fight with Shane about the barn.
''Well i do'' She said ''Rick's going out later to follow the trail''
''Yeah, will, i ain't gonna sit around and do nothin','' Daryl mumbled.
''No, you're going to go out there and get yourself even worse'' She argued and by the sound of her voice she really does care about him. Im not going to lie, it did make me extremely jealous.
''We don't know if we are even going to find her Daryl, we don't'' She paused ''I don't'' And what happened next made me even more. I peaked over to see whats going on. I watched them as they stared at each other for a minute.
''What?'' Daryl asked his voice getting lower.
''I can't lose you too'' Carol whispered a tear rolling down her eyes.
Daryl stepped closer and threw the reins down of the ground. He then picked up the saddle and threw it on the ground, leaning forward in pain.
I wanted to run up to him and help him but i frowned as i saw Carol was already there by his side.
''Are you 'lright?'' She questioned worriedly.
''Just leave me be'' He hissed. ''Stupid bitch'' He started walking away making me spin on my heels leaving before he could see me. I shook my head furious at his actions. When will he ever learn?

''Daryl!'' I called after him as he started to head over to the tent. He held on to his side, ignoring my calls and continued walking.
I snarled grabbing on to his arm turning him around. ''Can you stop acting like a child and more like an adult'' I blurted making him glare at me.
''What did you say?'' He was fuming, i could see the fire in his eyes that he's wasn't in the mood to argue with me.
''You heard what i said. That wasn't called for, for what you said back in the stables'' I crossed my arms making him narrow his eyes.
''It's none of your business'' He snarled making me back away for a bit, terrified of what will happen.
''Well it clearly is when people care for your shitty ass while you don't give any crap about it'' I covered my mouth not believing the confidence that i had.
''I don't need people to care about me Annora. They don't, they just pretend like they do because im just the fucking redneck that helps them survive. Without me, they would be starving''
My mouth dropped ''That not true Daryl, they do care. You're apart of the family. Everyone loves you for who you are. Even if you're being a total bitch'' I caressed his cheek making his eyes go soft for a couple of minutes before they hardened. He removed my hand away.
''Bullshit. Just fuck off Annora'' He just walked away like that. I groaned sitting down on the ground leaning against the tree, i guess he doesn't like the soft side.
I softly started singing 'Hey Judge' by The Beatles. When i was younger, my momma would always sing to me to make me fall asleep. It was comforting. Ever since then i have been embracing my voice and actually started to enjoy singing.
I opened my eyes getting blinded by the sun. I squrinted my eyes as i saw the group gathered around. I stood up walking over there.

''What's going on? Rick said no guns'' I questioned as Shane started handing out guns.
''We're clearing the barn'' He said hand me one. I took it putting it in my holster.
Daryl and i made eye connect. I scoffed turning around not wanting to deal with him.
Shane kneed down handing Carl a gun which made me raise my eyebrows. ''Now i want you to take this, you take this Carl and you keep your mother safe and do whatever it takes''
''Rick said no guns, this is not your call. its not your decision to make''
Lori fumed pushing Carl back.
''Oh shit''
Growl. We turned around to see Rick and Hershel in the distance with walkers on leashes. I felt my chest and stomach tighten ''What the fuck'' I mumbled not believing what i'm seeing.
Shane sprinted towards them and we followed; Which was a bad thing for me.
''What the hell are you doing man?'' Shane screamed.
''Shane just back off'' Rick warned him as he paced around them.
''Why does you're people have guns?'' Hershel said looking at the guns that we were holding.
''Are you kidding me!? You see what you're holding on too?'' He yelled raising his voice much higher.
''I see who im holding on too'' Hershel argued making me frown.
I stared at the walkers, Jacob's memories coming back. I turned white as a ghost as his 'Walker Face' came to my mind.
''You okay?'' Daryl grabbed my hand as he noticed my expression. I quickly nodded not wanting him to ask.
''Hey Hershel man let me ask you something. Can a breathing person walk away from this?'' He yelled shooting the walker three times on the chest making me jump up.
''Why is it still coming!?'' He shot it two more times.
''Shane that's enough'' Rick said hoping to stop him.
''Yeah man that's enough'' He said walking over shooting the walker on its head ''Enough risking our lives for a little girl who's gone! Enough living in a barn full of things trying to kill us! Enough! Rick it ain't like it was before. Now if you want to live, if you want to survive, you've got to fight for it'' And that's when he ran over to the barn and started breaking the chain.
Everyone started pleading for him not to do it. I clenched onto Daryl's arm hiding my face in his chest.
I suddenly felt him push me behind him and growls filled our ears. They have been released. I looked up as i watched them get out making me hold his waist tightly.
Daryl let go of me giving me a look before going forward shooting as more of them escaped.
I felt this wave of emotion just wave over me. Memories. Memories. Memories. Memories. Memories. I dropped down on my knees not being able to take this anymore.
''Stop'' I repeated over and over again wanting it to end but it just kept on going.
Then it all went quite. I looked around as the Greene family were all in tears. There was a small growl coming out, i looked up my heart shattering.
''Sophia'' Carol cried running over her to get her but was held back by Daryl. I sat down letting my tears fall feeling so depressed.
Rick stepped forward putting his gun up pulling the trigger.
MEMORIES. MEMORIES
My blood went cold as i heard the final trigger. I let the sobs escape my lips not being able to control it anymore.
RUN . I backed away looking at all these people.
RUN . I looked at Daryl as he looked back at me worried.
GET OUT OF HERE. RUN ANNORA. I looked at the woods and at Daryl. He shook his head mumbling no.
And that's when i did it.
I ran. Far away.
Into the wood and Daryl was hot on my heels. But i just need to get away. I needed to forget those memories.
