《Never in a Million Years ✔️》66- Crackhead Steve & Meth-head Joe

"BAILS!" I hear the ever pleasant shrill of my co-favorite former roommate.
I instantly break away from the two boys and my mom to run over to both Sage and Ashley. I've missed them. They were supposed to come earlier in the year but Ash's little sister got super sick and was hospitalized for just under a month. Thankfully Arielle is okay now, but they were worried for a little bit.
"Holy shit you've gotten hotter since you left!" Sage grins, looking me up and down "Look at you go bitch!"
"Oh my god, shut up" I laugh, giving her a hug too. She was always as the one to hype us up the most, even when Ash was a mess after her long term boyfriend of four years broke up with her for the fifth time, and she didn't shower for four days. Or when I was sick and didn't leave my bed for a almost a full week.
"We missed you so much!" Ashley smiles until her eyes fall behind me
"That must've been awkward" Sage laughs, looking back from Caleb to me
"Shut up!" I quietly scold her
"Hey mom! Hotties one and two! Come here!" Safe calls them over and I can already hear Jordan laughing getting louder as he approaches.
"Cute, curly hair, green eyes, gorgeous and arm around her shoulder" Ashley says, her bright blue eyes inspecting Jordan "You must be the best friend, Jordan"
"That I am" Jordan smiles "You must be Ashley,"
"That I am Sherlock, " She grins before turning to Caleb "Okay," she states looking him up and down
"Hot, tall, pretty brown eyes, really nice shoulders and avoiding any physical contact with her like it's the plague" Sage cuts in smirking at him "You must be Caleb"
"That's me" Caleb shrugs offering an easy grin
"Yeah we gotta talk" Ashley states crossing her arms
"Oh really?" He questions cockily
"Yeah, really" Ash shrugs, repeating his words quite condescendingly "Not here though, I can't kill you with witnesses." She states without hesitation as she links her and with me, still glaring at Caleb and dragging me away in front of my mom and the boys.
"I wanna kick his ass" Ash states
"Good luck with that blondie, he's got a foot on you and about seventy pound of muscle" Sage snorts front he other side of me, she was always the realistic one. Ashley was obviously the fiery one.
"Nah he doesn't deserve getting his ass kicked" I say softly, glancing back behind me to see him saying something to Jordan
"He made you cry, of course he needs his ass kicked" Ash pouts, most likely at the fact that she won't be getting into a fight tonight. Sage may be the intimidating looking one, but in reality Ash is the one you have to watch out for. Both her parents were boxers growing up, so she has fighting running in her veins.
"No, he didn't make me cry, the circumstances that we were in and my stubbornness slash frustration made me cry" I reason. Since we've gotten older, he's never intentionally made me cry, he'd never actually hurt me.
"Okay well I'm still gonna yell at him just cause I want to" She shrugs
"Why is she so angry?" I look to my left up at Sage
"The fucking pendejo decided to make his two month appearance three days ago, she fell for it again" Sage sighs, glaring over and her best friend. Ah the little bitch. Ashley's long time off again-on again boyfriend, Troy. It started when he broke up with her halfway through my junior year while we were rooming together and it just went downhill from there. He's the one she didn't shower for.

"Ah okay, well I'll make a deal. I get to yell at him while you're yelling at Caleb. Sage and Jordy can sit back and watch with their bowl of popcorn, deal?" I grin over at her
"Deal" Ash just mirrors my grin as we walk out to the parking garage. Sage was happy cause she got to use her dads new Escalade to come pick us up, we were staying at a hotel down the street from her's and Ash's houses.
It was a good thing that they were in college now, they got a longer spring break which means I actually get to spends more time with them.
"This cars nice as hell" Jordan grins as he climbs in the back beside me
"Has anyone ever told you you're accent is adorable?" Ashley questions, turning around in her front seat
"Multiple occasions" Caleb and I just roll our eyes simultaneously. He would use it all the time to pick up girls when we'd go out of state.
"Does the cute blue blondie have an accent like it too?" Sage question smirking at Ash. Ashley and Ty had texted for a little while but back in September dickhead came back and Ash said she couldn't talk to Ty anymore. T was a little upset, but at the same time he'd only been talking for a few weeks or so, so he wasn't heartbroken, he understood why she couldn't and respected that.
"He does," I grin at Ash. Her and Ty would be cute as hell together.
"Good to know" Sage nods looking back to the road, I just glance at my mom who was silently laughing to herself. She knew all the happenings with us kids.
"I hate both of you" Ash just pouts in the front seat and we all laugh at her. I've been here less than an hour, and I've laughed more than I have in the passed two weeks. Its not a lot but it's progress.
---------
"Okay, your conference isn't until Sunday, the boys don't have their meeting until later tonight , so we have today and tomorrow free" Cheri grins, walking to my side of the room. Loyola didn't hold back when providing housing for us. It was a nice one, I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel this nice. Within the hotel rooms, there were separate areas, almost like full rooms. There was a cute mini fridge that I had been fascinated with too, I just think they're so adorable and tiny.
"Actually" I hear Jordan's voice as he enters our room, Caleb in tow. "I was wondering if I can steal her tomorrow"
"For what?" I questions the same time Cheri grins and states 'be my guest'
"It's a surprise, you'll find out tomorrow" he states, I glance over at Co and he just shrugs
"Don't look at me, he won't tell me either"
"Because it's a surprise" Jordan smirks proudly "Now Bailey-Belle Kalanski, it is currently 11:43 in the morning, so what is one to do?"
"Food" I grin "We are going to Leland's" it was a small hole in the wall diner right outside of campus. Not very many people knew about it besides locals, but it was possibly one of the best breakfast places around
"Okay, I'm going to go to the outlet mall, so just text me when you guys are done, I'm probably gonna go to Sage's later to see her parents, I miss them" Cheri smiles as the three of us get ready to leave "Be good, be careful and don't talk to strangers"

"Yes mom" all three of us grin before I lead the way out. After dropping us off, Sage and Ashley has to stop back at Ash's house for a second, so I text them and tell them both to meet us here once they're done.
"Oh wait" I say before walking back into my room. We're walking there and they're both gonna be cold even if they don't want to admit it.
I quickly grab the two sweatshirts out of my suitcase before once again walking out, and tossing them at both of them without a word.
Co just looks at his sweatshirt before looking up at me, his eyes were sad as I just shrug. He never asked for them back, and I didn't want to give them back.
"You'll want these" I say before turning around and walking to the elevator, trying to ignore the sad feeling in my stomach.
Within two minutes we're outside and walking down the street to Lelands.
"Is that little miss Belle Kalanski I see?" Leland, the owner yells from the front counter just as we walk in. I can't help but smile, she and this place were the exact same as when we left.
"Lele!" I just about yell as I run over to her. We came here at least four times a week. Along with Sage and Ashley's moms, Leland was just like another mom to me.
"Oh look at you and that southern accent," She grins looking over me "Girl you've gotten older since I last saw you, how long has it been? Eight months?"
"Yeah just about" I grin "How's the diner been?"
"It's been great, you just missed crackhead Steve, he was here like half an hour ago" she smiles. Good to know crackhead Steve was still alive. He was a regular here and acted like a complete crackhead. I'm not sure if he actually did crack but he was definitely on something. He was older, maybe in his fifties or sixties and had stark white hair that contrasted his dark skin, he was possibly the funniest man I've met in my life. His best friend we named meth-head Joe. He was the same age as Steve and just as insane, they'd always joked about their matching wrinkles and whenever Steve did something stupid, Joe would yell at him in German. Sage, Ash and I loved to just sit her and talk with them whenever we came here. They were always a highlights coming here. Steve always hit on Lele too, her responses were almost as comical as the old mans pickup lines.
"Damn, I miss Steve," I laugh "How's Rick?"
"Is that my southern Belle I hear?" Rick, the cook here at the diner, shouts form the kitchen
"It is! Come out here I wanna give you a hug too!" Rick and Leland have been best friends since they were kids, now in their fifties and co-owning the diner. Sage, Ash and I always said they should get together as they were both single.
I see him come out with a grin on his face and instantly wraps me up in a hug.
"Look at you," he smiles looking down at me "It's been too long kid"
"I know, things have been a little crazy down in Texas" I grin "I want you two to meet some people though" I turn back to Caleb and Jordan who at some point began talking to another customer nearby. I swear these two make friends everywhere they go, I guess the same could be said for me though. They both catch my eye though, excusing themselves as they walk over.
"And who might these two young men be?" Leland grins looking at the two giants beside me
"I'm Jordan Moroney ma'am" Jordan grins holding his hand out to Leland
"Oh shut up with that ma'am stuff, I may be fifty-three but I'm still as you as miss Belle here" she grins pulling Jordan in for a hug instead, he just laughs as she does so
"And who might you be?" She smiles at Caleb
"I'm Caleb Kazer" he smiles his heart stopping smile
"Nice to meet you sweetheart" she smiles giving him a Hugh too, and winking at me over her shoulder. I'm sure she knows all the gossip, Sage and Ash tell her everything
"Belles told us a lot about both of you" Rick smiles shaking both their hands
"All good I hope?" Caleb grins
"Eh, about Jordan yeah" Rick smirks as Jordan starts to laugh
"Yeah he's the dick here" Jordan smiles proudly
"Okay-okay, enough chitchat, I know this one can eat and looking at the size of you two I'm assuming you guys can too" Leland grins "So what can I get ya?"
"Highly recommend the pancakes and country skillet" I grin not even taking a menu from her, I get the same thing every time I come here.
"Okay, we'll have what she's having please" Caleb just grins
"Sounds good, Rick! Three country skillests and pancakes!"
"Got it!" He calls, walking back into the kitchen
"Hey Leland? Where's your bathroom?" Caleb questions standing up from his stool
"Down the hall to the left baby" she tells him as she prints off a receipt for another customer before turning back to Jordan and I "okay while hotties gone, is he the one-"
"Yep" Jordan smirks at her
"Damn! Good job girl!" She grins, giving me a high-five
"Did Sage and Ash tell you what else happened?" I question
"Yeah they did," she frowns, "It's not gonna last though, you'll be back together soon" She tells me
"How do you know that?" I snort
"The minute you ran over to me, with that big beautiful smile of yours, he couldn't keep his eyes off you" She reasons, a smirk making its way on her face
"Yeah okay" I roll my eyes
"She's not wrong B" Jordan agrees with Leland, giving her a high-five
"Now stop being a headstrong teenager and listen to this old black lady, she knows what she's talking about" Leland scolds, just as Caleb sits back down, making all three of us laugh
"Okay Lele" I nod
"Good, so, how long have you kids all been together?" She questions
"Belle and I have know each other our whole lives and then Jordan came along when he and I were six, B was five" Caleb tells her
"Oh so you have a lot of embarrassing shit about her?" She just smirks deviously
"Oh yeah, What do you wanna know?" Jordan questions as both her and Caleb lean on the counter in front of us. I just groan, knowing that they're broth going to expose my life to her.
"Anything and everything" she laughs and the stories begin.
