《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Marco Ilso: Pool

It was always busy on the Friday nights, people cramped together in that bar where you and the girl squad always assembled to drink a little before the weekend. After a whole week of studying you kind of deserved it, but even in this crowded mess you wished they choose a different place to go. But it wasn't about the crowd in the end, it was about having a good time. You felt relaxed, talking and laughing with your friends, having a drink while time passed slowly and people faded out of the place. 'I'm gonna head into town tomorrow, do some shopping, y/n, you in?' You bestie asked. You looked up from your drink and shook your head.
'Have to much schoolwork.'
'You need to take a moment for yourself once in a while.' You friends replied all at once. You chuckled, sliding your finger over the edge of the glass while shaking your head.
'Sorry.' You reacted, looking down.
'We need to do something about it.'
'There is a cute guy staring at you from over the pool table.' One noticed. You frowned your eyes, sitting straight up. 'With the manbun.' She pointed out. 'Not all at once.' She laughed when everybody was planning on turning his head. You slowly turned around to look for the pool table, there we three guys playing, one was hanging over the table ready to take his shot.
'There is more than one manbun.' You noticed. Now everybody turned around to watch.
'White shirt, the one bend over.' She leaded your eyes in the good direction.
'Oh my god, that is Marco Ilsø.'
'What?' You asked confused. Your friend stumbled from her seat and came to stand before you.
'Vikings, the series, that is Marco, Hvitserk, you know, that cute ass always eating.' She almost screamed, turning around to watch them again wile your friend pulled out her phone. You watched that series, but believing was something else. How could such a person stare at you? 'They are shooting for season 6, I should ask for a signature.'

'Don't, he is looking at Y/n, not you.' Your best friend stopped her. Marco took a perfectly good shot before lifting his hands, pointing out the obvious, that he was good. Why couldn't you play pool? His eyes traveled up to yours and as soon as they set something changed, he got all shy? Looking away, with that little grin on his lips, feeling busted.
'Go talk to him.' Your best friend said, pushing you of the seat.
'What no? That is Marco Ilsø, I'm not, no!'
'He is obviously into you, look at that smile.'
'He is looking again.' They rambled all through each other. You looked back and indeed, he was looking at you again.
'Don't be such a pussy Y/n.' Your friends encouraged you. But it was like the same was going on there, the two other guys looked your way, the one smiling and the other talking to that Marco guy. This was not what you had planned for tonight. Three amazing good looking actors looking to your little group of five.
'Do any of you play pool?' Alex shouted, changing a look with Marco, you couldn't keep your eyes away from him.
'Y/n always says she wants to learn.' Your friend knocked you against the shoulder.
'She is kidding.' You defended yourself right away.
'Care for a game ladies?' Alex challenged you all. You didn't had to say that twice.
At least two of your friends knew how to play pool, you stood against the wall trying to understand the game when he came to stand aside you.
'Don't know how to play?' Marco asked. You slowly looked up the kind face looking down at you.
'Nope, you shoot the balls right into the holes right?' He chuckled and you felt stupid for a moment.

'Something like that.' He reassured you the other way around. He gave you the stick and you looked at it disturbed when Alex said it was his turn.
'You know you going to lose because of me right.' You began, a insecure smile on your lips while he leaded you to the table.
'What does that matter, it's about the fun.' You felt his hand shift over your arm as he showed you the way to hold the stick. You felt the heat slide to your cheeks as he came to stand closer, a hand on the small of your back. You bite your lip, trying to concentrate on the balls rather than him. You felt his chest contact with your back and you saw your friend in the corner of your eyes film the whole thing. 'Just aim and shoot.'
'Aim and shoot.' You repeated, failing totally in both of those things. The ball kicked against the edge of the table and you closed your eyes, embarrassed. 'Told you.' You said when he released you and you gave him the stick back. He smiled and shook his head kindly.
'Takes practice.' He comforted you. You looked towards your friend who got with ease a ball into one of the holes. 'Are you free, tomorrow?' Marco asked. You looked up to him, opening your mouth in disbelief.
'Maybe.'
'She has a lot of homework.' You friend answered that question. You gave her a fast stern look.
'I can make some time.' You followed hastily. Marco smiled, the kind of smiled that melted your inside before he got his body back to that pool table ... damn, you got all angles of him.

Not as it seems
Stranded inside the world he'd been writing about for years, Arwen is left at the mercy of the characters and setting he'd so lovingly created. But things aren't going to be easy, as the further he plunges into his world, the more he will realize things aren't quite what he thought them to be. This story is a case study on a realistic approach to isekai as well as what it means to "know" someone / something, and to "KNOW" them. There will be hard themes and uncomfortable truths, and just like with real life, it will show things as they are unfiltered.
