《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Hvitserk: Anger and love
Advertisement
Your horse stopped on the little hill, looking down over Kattegat as it was. A lot changed, you had been away for a while ... not long enough for them to forget you but just enough to change the things around here. You noticed it as your horse walked between the street, the people were more quiet, cautious. When you left you promised to come back, when you left you loved, when you left there was that promise. Your eyes went to the people, looking up to you, asking themselves where you had been. Yes, Kattegat knew you to be a skilled hunter, the kind of woman that didn't worked well with others and had a particular set of skills. But they often knew you to be the woman aside Hvitserk ... thrilled to see him again, promising each other to love for eternity you jumped from your horse aside the great hall. Normally there would be shieldmaidens and blue shields, now it was different, way to different. And you got an explanation for that as soon as you stepped in, two thrones, both filled with a Ragnarsson. Those blue piercing eyes hitting you as first. 'I was asking myself when you would come back.' Ivar smiled dark. But your eyes rested on the person on that other throne, with a woman in his lap and a certain darkness crawling around him. Ivar followed your eyes to Hvitserk before chuckling slightly. 'Seem that you have stayed away a little too long Y/n.' Ivar stated. You looked to Hvitserk before forcing your eyes to Ivar. 'Apparently.' You bowed, turning around, not even give him a change to defend the promise he broke ... to stay together.
It was somewhere late at night when you felt his presents lingering. You walked out of the black smith, turning around to him. He was just standing there, leaning against a house, looking at you with a look that turned you hot and cold on the same time. 'You know,' you started, hating the silence. What had become of him? He just to be more playful, joyful. You slowly turned back around, standing still when you heard his voice, that certain timbre in it that made you shiver. 'You weren't here.' He just stated. You bite your lip and turned back around to face him, pointing out your dagger towards him. 'We made each other a promise.' 'Yes, we did. And things changed, I needed you and you weren't here.' It was so simply said by him that it made your blood boil. 'That is all you have to say?' 'What else do I have to say, I needed you Y/n, because of you I'm like this.' He tapped his own chest, not moving from the spot. 'It is all my fault now?' You asked heated, walking over to him. You hissed. He grabbed you at your throat, smacking you against the house you were standing for. 'I do!' He said between clenched teeth. Your wrapped your fingers around his wrist, warning him to not squeeze all the air out of your lungs. 'I had to fight my own brothers, I grew hard underneath the violence, the blood, the death. The one person I needed to keep my head above water wasn't here. I missed her counsel, her guidance.' His voice lost a little bit of that strength on the end. 'You have no idea what it is to pretend to be strong.' He finished, loosening the grip a little around your throat. You looked into his dark eyes, shaking your head on everything he was saying. Where did he went through while you were away? 'I promised you to come back.' You whispered. He looked away, into the street with clenched teeth. 'I'm here now.' 'I needed you.' 'I'm here Hvitserk.' You reacted on his anger. He blamed you and he had the right, seeing how much Kattegat changed when you arrived there had to be something. He studied your face, his own expressions faded a little. 'I'm sorry.' You just said, not even knowing why. He pressed his lips onto yours, a strong kiss filling all the gabs in between, by the gods, you had missed him.

Conjured Villain
A game. That's what we were summoned for. No, none of us are heroes, though some fashion themselves as such. We were taken from Earth to compete, to entertain, to win. There can't be any heroism in such a system. We travel from world to world, accomplishing the goals that the Overlord has set for us. Some worlds we know from our popular culture, others are exotic to the extreme. Along the way, we gain power, yes, but the real reason we do it, the real reason we struggle and battle to the death is simple: freedom. We long for it so badly that we are willing to do anything. Anything. In this Game, some were assigned to be heroines, others as martyrs, and even some as love interests. And it just so happens that my assignment is simple: be the villain.-----------------Hey guys!
