《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Ubbe: Unlucky strike
Advertisement
You woke up out of your dreams by Ubbe who moved aside you. You squeezed your eyes together, muttering something as you rolled on your back.
'Sleep.' He whispered, pressing his lips against your forehead before he moved away. It the first minute you didn't thought, you were still to far away to realize he was sneaking away at night. It was when you asked yourself why that you fully woke up, sitting up to see him walk out with Hvitserk. Things didn't went that good with Ubbe and Ivar, ever since Sigurd died. Despite that Ivar did his part here in York, Ubbe wanted other things. You pushed up out the bed, grabbed your belt, bow and arrows and followed them outside. He assembled some men, they took horses and left. You knew where to ... Aethelwulf. You looked back to the place you were sleeping on before you ran outside and took a horse of yourself.
They went into the camp while you hide out in the nearby forest. What was he doing? Striking a deal? How by the gods would he get that together? How much you hated Ivar for being like this ... but in this he was right, you couldn't strike a bargain with those Christians, not after all they did. You looked up to the tree, jumping up before you pulled yourself into the tree. As one of the best archers Ubbe always had his eyes on you. It took him a while to get you but he did and the memory always lighted your smile. As you installed yourself on the tree you pulled out an arrow, measuring the angle and power you would need to kill anybody who would touch one of the brothers. In all the waiting you got concerned until they were leaded outside before that bishop. You couldn't see it from this far but the fact they got surrounded didn't mean anything good. You pulled the string back, aiming for the man closest to Ubbe. A small smile and you released, putting the camp in immediate state of attack as you shoot another arrow. Hvitserk and Ubbe started running. Consumed by the wound Ubbe had you didn't saw the arrow coming, scraping your ribs painfully before you fell out the tree.

'Y/n!' Hvitserk hissed. You pushed up, looking at Ubbe his face as you gasped for breath. What have they done?
'What the hell were you thinking!?' Ubbe stated angry the soon he was alone with you.
'What was I thinking? You are the one going there against Ivar. You were the one who could die!' You breathed out, wanting to clean up his face but he slapped your hands away as you came closer.
'I asked you to stay.' He hissed angry, walking fort and back.
'You know I tend to not listen.'
'It could have got you killed!' He shouted and you froze. He never yelled like that against you. You looked down to the ground, taking a step back for him and whole his expression changed. 'Y/n,' he started softly. He slowly stepped closer but you didn't look up until he cupped your face. 'I can't loose you to. I lost a brother, I will raise war against another, please don't let me loose you in the process.' He whispered. He was in pain, he was broken down in the situation. You slowly looked up to him, laying your hand over his that rested against your face.
'You won't, you have to let me support you Ubbe, I can't loose you either.' You said tenderly back. He signed, pulling your head against his good side, kissing your temple.
'I'm sorry.' He whispered. You closed your eyes, enjoying the body that could have been killed hours ago.
'You are important to me to.' You said while pulling back. He laid his hand under your chin and pressed his lips in a soft manor against yours. You smiled in the kiss, opening your eyes to his sliced open face. 'Let me take care of you.' You gestured. His fingers stroke your cheek, your neck before he let go of you, obeying your request in sitting down.

Galactic Economics
Humanity enters the galaxy and makes First Contact, only to begin to realize that not everything is at it seems. It appears that the galactic alien community has forgotten to invent some rather important economic concepts that human civilization has taken for granted. This is a look at a hypothetical galactic scale barter economy, how that would work, or how as one of our main characters Sarah realizes... it doesn't. And as the galaxy falls apart at the seams, it's up to the best and brightest in humanity to put things back together. Story contains a lot about markets, logistics, development, and the best and worst of human history. Not so much Space Marines nuking aliens. If you enjoyed the trade negotiations and Senate politics in the Star Wars prequels, and wished that there was an entire standalone story consisting solely of those parts, this might be for you! Galactic Economics is also posted on reddit here.

Discord Community: https://discord.gg/3tHKHAx7Ye The Vitaean Chronicles are a debut LitRPG High Fantasy series written with the intent of filling a niche I've yet to see filled anywhere else. This is my first novel of this kind, so please be patient with me. Throughout this story, I will endeavour to create an evolving and expansive narrative anchored around believable characters, compelling plotlines, and a consistent and sensible magic system. The purpose of this work is to create what I believe to be a relatively unique piece of fiction, drawing inspiration from many great stories that have come before from the likes of Tolkien, Jordan, Hertbert, Goodkind, Pratchett, Martin, and several others. My goal is not to create a masterpiece, but simply to create a story that someone can read and re-read with the same joy, same frustration, and same investment each time. This story will contain violence, politics, Shakespearian drama, tongue-in-cheek references, adult content, and well-crafted relationships of both platonic and romantic natures. I will not promise you will like every choice I make. I can only guarantee that I will do my best to create a story I, and you, can be proud of. As I progress, I will have room to incorporate fan-made characters for those interested in making their mark within the tapestry of this tale (with the customary disclaimer that they do so while waiving any rights to future profit, lol). Thank you to Royal Road for giving me the platform to do that, and thank you dear readers past, present, and future for choosing to come on this journey with me. Finally, just to cover myself: This work is Copyrighted to the Author herein known as 'Hannibal Forge', and recreation, distribution, or re-release of any material herein in a commercial or public capacity absent permission from the Author can and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.

Ruthless Reincarnator
Its a first try at a different approach of the "i've reincarnated in another world" genre. No "i wanna go back home", or "i wanna make friends" stuff. In fact, the most emotional moments will probably happen in the Intermission chapters. On the bright side, i have already completed the main story! And it is a short one, of course. Only 100~~something pages long (i'm writting the intermission chapters for now) and every chapter shall be mostly 1 or 2 pages long only. So everyone should have something to read for the next 2 months or something. Obs: I have also opened a Patrenon. I intend on posting 1 chapter every day and asking for donations in case people want more. Why ? ´cause i like money. Have a good reading everyone.
