She woke to her brother yelling in her ear. "Sigurd stop!" She yelled pushing him away from her as he laughed. "I though you were deaf, light." She glared at him as he shut up.
"Mother is expecting you to breakfast. So hurry up now." He said picked up a pillow next to her and hitting her. "Ugh!" She yelled as he closed the door she threw a pillow at it.
She and Sigurd were close as even though mother treated her as treasure. She partly raised Sigurd as he was ignored sometimes she took her attention to him. But when it came to Ivar she would hit him for being impolite. Her mother adored her for being protective of Ivar.
She walked to her seat at the end of the table. "How was your slumber?" Asked her mother as she smiled. "Great as always, mother." She started to eat her breakfast when she heard "what are you laughing at?" She looked up to see Margrethe feeding Ivar.
She rolled her eyes at how her brother treated women. "She's my special serpent now. And she has a lot of reasons to be grateful to me." He said taking her hand.
"Ivar, can you please stop this." She told her brother as took a sip. He looked at her with a scowl. But his attention went to Ubbe "I'm not sure I believe you, little brother." "And I'm sure your jealous." She shook her head as she made eye contact with her mother.
"You canning keep a slaw to yourself. No, not like that." Hvitserk said then Ivar turned to Aslaug "Mother, tell them to stop tormenting him." She looked towards her mother.
"It makes me so happy you are with a woman. The rest of you should already be married. Not you Grace, not yet my dear." Her mother has always told her that she should marry for love and nothing else.

"Ubbe, you should have children." "I probably already have." He replies as Grace broke out into a smile. "Just because your the sons of a king does not mean you can be irresponsible. It's important to find a woman and settle down."
She nodded to her mother as she smiled, which her mother relayed. "I thought I had found a woman. But know I Ivar had taken her away from me." Grace kicked Sigurd under the table.
He flinched for a moment then took a drink. "I don't mean love. You don't have to love the woman. As a king's son, you can have as many women as you like. But you need one to breed with." She said then started to eat her food again.
Grace just sat and thought to herself if she should marry for love or not. Her mother had told her to. But is that what her father would want. "So then you don't believe in love?" Asked Sigurd "I didn't say that." "So you loved Ragnar when you married him? And he loved you?"
Grace kicked him again but he was to focused on Aslaug. "Of course I loved him! Some say you bewitched him." Grace shook her head not wanting this to happen. "What is wrong with you." "Nothings wrong with me. I just want to know if she's ever loved anyone except Harbard. You remember Harbard, don't you?"
"Of course she has loved someone else. She's always love me? Isn't that right mother." Ivar said with a hopeful smile on his face. Grace softly smiled to Hvitserk who only stared on.
"She feels pity for you. That's all. We all feel pity for you. But sometimes we wish that she'd left you to the wolves." She and heard enough and slammed down her cloth. She got up and went outside for air.

Her mother walked outside after calming Ivar down and said "get dressed, my dear. Your going with Hvitserk." Grace nodded to her mother and grabbed the gown her mother held.
Once she was done she walked out to see Hvitserk. "We will be meeting Torvi and Bjorn." She smiled with a nod and they lock their arms together as they walk. "After this can I get flowers?" She asked her brother as he softly nodded to her as they made their way to the dock. She stood next to her brother who's arms were crossed, she had her hand on his arm.
