When you had first met Ivar you had fallen hard and fast, not caring about anything that might pose problems, and just wanting to he with him.
Ivar had been absolutely charming towards you, which in retrospect left you wondering, since he certainly wasn't known for his kindness.
The moment you had seen him you had been in love with him, and that feeling had been mutual, if you could believe Ivar's words, which you did.
You had been working at his family's firm and you had met because you had both been working late, you had developed a habit out of it, staying over hours to sit together and work in silence, or just talk if you had already finished your assignments for the day.
When you had started dating you had quit your job to work at another company because you didn't want work to get in the way of your relationship and you didn't want people thinking you were privileged because you were sleeping with one of their bosses.
The relationship you and Ivar shared was far more than just lust, especially since you couldn't pleasure him, but you deeply understand and loved one another, which made your relationship far more stable than any of the sexual relationships you had been in before.
You had sex, not as regularly as with other boyfriends you had had but Ivar loved to give you pleasure, and of course you enjoyed it as well.
When time went by and your relationship developed you started to feel like you wanted more, like you wanted to start a family together.
Ivar had always said that he couldn't have children, and you had understood that, but the wish developed for you just as much as it did for him.

You didn't dare to say anything about it until he started the conversation, telling you that he thought about adopting because he couldn't have children with you.
You had thought about it too, but doing research you had found that Ivar had ED, erectile dysfunction, which meant that even though he was impotent he wasn't infertile, that with the right treatment he could father children.
When you told him he was quiet at first, telling you that he had thought about it too but that he hadn't seen a doctor about it yet, because he had been scared that he would be infertile.
Weeks later he had told you that he had thought about it, and that he wanted you to join him in going to the doctor.
When you did you talked about the fact that you thought of having children and Ivar received medication to help him.
You waited to see if this was actually what you wanted but when it turned out that you did you started trying, and it went well.
It was a new experience for the both of you but it worked well, and when you finally became pregnant you were overjoyed.
Especially Ivar, who had grown up thinking that he could never have children was happier than he had ever been, and he nearly worshipped you for carrying his child.
You didn't think about the fact that your child could inherit its father's disability until Ivar told you so, but you were optimistic.
There was a possibility that the baby wouldn't have the gene, but even if it did you saw how well Ivar was doing, and you knew that you would love and care for it without limits.
In your 20th week of pregnancy you had a scheduled ultrasound appointment, which could determine the gender and tell you if your child would have OI as well.

If the doctor couldn't see any clear signs of OI there was still a possibility your child could have it, but it was far slimmer than before.
Ivar accompanied you to the doctors and you were a nervous wreck until the doctor told you that she couldn't see anything, and that you would be having a baby girl.
Ivar and you were so happy, and neither of you could wait to hold your little wonder in your arms.
When the time came you were still scared of being in labor, but you didn't even think about worrying about whether or not your child would inherit osteogenesis imperfecta.
She did not, and a few minutes later you were holding a perfectly healthy girl in your arms.
You had agreed on naming her Liv, which in scandinavian meant 'life', and it fit perfectly to the small delicate girl that lay in your arms.
Over the months that followed Liv made the two of you happier than you had ever been, even though she made quite the amount of trouble.
Her first birthday passed quickly and you celebrated it with the entire Lothbrok family present.
Even though Ivar didn't particularly enjoy Ubbe's or Sigurd's company you had invited them anyways to show them your little miracle, and both you and Ivar were surprised but happy to see Ragnar arriving as well.
Months later Ivar's father died, but Ivar took it well, not being too sad over it because Ragnar had always been very busy and didn't particularly like spending his time with the children he had fathered.
Even though it was a sad occasion there was also one to celebrate, because Ivar was named the main owner of the company Ragnar had built, increasing his payroll drastically.
It was an amazing day when Ivar came home after telling you over the phone, Liv and you were playing on the grass in your garden, you were making a daisy crown and Liv was just happily ripping at the grass beneath her until she saw Ivar.
She got up happily, waddling unsteadily towards Ivar until she held onto his braces, giggling up at him.
Ivar scooped her up with one arm after setting his crutch away, holding her with it against his chest.
She giggled as usual and reached out to touch his face and Ivar smiled at her happily.
You were getting up to greet him, watching Ivar and your daughter interacting when you heard Liv speak.
"I love you, daddy", she said, the first actual sentence she would ever say, and you laughed happily about it as you moved towards her.
You heard Ivar praising her for talking to him softly, happy and laughing at the fact that she did before you got to the two of them.
You set a kiss to Ivar's cheek as you took your daughter from him, hugging her to your side as she smiled at you.
"Daddy is amazing, isn't he?", you began as you kissed her little nose before caressing her cheek softly.
"We love daddy so much, right, sweetheart?", you asked as you looked up at Ivar who smiled at you with loving eyes as he watched you interact with his daughter.
"I love you", he said as he gave you a quick kiss on the lips before chuckling as Liv pouted slightly.
"I love the two of you", he added as he pressed a kiss to Liv's forehead and she buried her hand in his shirt, keeping him close to you.
"I love you, daddy", she repeated, and Ivar and you chuckled again.
