The prompt is: "You are really soft".
Warnings: none
When you woke up in the morning you were happier than you had been in a long time, and you didn't think of yourself as an unhappy person.
Last night you had been at a family get together of both yours and Alfred's family and it had gone amazing.
Not that you loved seeing your extended family that much, they were as annoying as the usual extended family could be, and Alfred's family wasn't too pleasant either, but he had had a surprise for you, one that made you the happiest person alive.
You had met Alfred at a library, whereas you had to study he just felt like he had wanted to.
You had collected the books you needed for your studying, but you had realized one was missing, which you didn't mind.
When you had sat down at one of the tables you saw the book you had been looking for laying there in front of a boy you didn't recognize.
Deep in your studies you had reached out for said book only to make contact with someone else's hand.
When you had looked up you had looked up into the stranger's eyes, who was blushing madly, as were you.
You had laughed at the awkward moment and had apologized, reaching over the table to offer him your hand as a greeting.
The stranger was cute, he had shoulder long dark hair that framed his pale face beautifully and his eyes were warm and kind.
When you introduced yourself the stranger took your hand shaking it.
"My name's Alfred", he told you with a beautiful melodic voice, smiling at you shily.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kayla", he had said and you had blushed at him saying your name, tugging some of your strawberry blonde hair behind your ear.

From then on you had seen each other around more often, taking the opportunity to talk until you had asked him out, acting on the mutual attraction you felt, because he didn't seem brave enough to do so.
Your relationship had grown steadily, you loved being together and even moved in together, and then yesterday night had happened.
The family gathering had taken place at Alfred's family house, and after a while he had asked you to take a walk with him through the garden.
When you had reached the pavilion which had fairy lights hanging from the ceiling Alfred grew nervous, and he smiled at you hopefully.
He began to tell you the story of how you met from his perspective, how a radiantly beautiful girl had sat down in front of him in the library, how he couldn't believe his luck that you had moved in with him and how he couldn't believe either that you felt the same way about him as he felt about you, before he moved down to kneel in front of you.
You were blushing madly, not believing that what was happening was actually real, as he continued to talk.
"Please, Kayla, would you do me the honor of marrying me?", he asked you and he hadn't finished asking when you already nodded.
You were both quite young, but you knew you loved him more than you had ever loved anyone, and it just felt right.
"Yes, Alfie, yes please", you had answered and he had looked so relieved, so happy he even looked a bit on drugs.
When you got back to your families Alfred announced your engagement the night was spent partying, and even Judith seemed somewhat happy.
Letting the events of last night run through your head you turned around in bed, coming face to face with your now fiancé.

Alfred seemed to still be sleeping, his features relaxed and happy in his sleep.
You continued watching him until you saw him waking up, and you moved to press a short kiss to his lips.
You could see a smile forming on Alfred's face as you did so and you felt his hand settle on the side of your face, caressing your cheek.
"Good morning, beautiful", you heard his still quite sleepy voice and you smiled as you replied.
"Good morning, Alfie", you said softly and you saw him blinking, waking his still foggy mind up further as he rubbed his eyes.
"How are you today?", Alfred asked you as he sat up in bed against the headboard, hair falling messily into his face but he didn't pay it any mind.
He never asked you that question in the morning and his happy and sleepy air had disappeared into an observing one as he watched you closely.
You moved to cuddle with him, putting your head and the hand that was heavier than usual with the ring he had given you the night before on his chest.
"I'm amazing", you answered and you could hear Alfred's heartbeat pick up a bit.
"Are you sure? I mean... are you still sure you want to marry me?", he asked and you chuckled before you realized that he was serious.
"Of course I am! I love you, more than anything", you told him as you sat up on your elbow to be able to look at him.
Once again you saw relief in his face and you smiled widely as he took the hand with the ring on it in his, kissing it softly.
"I love you too", he told you and he smiled as he moved to lay down again, facing you.
"Come here", you told him softly as you stretched out your arms and he moved closer, cuddling so his head was resting on your chest and his arms were wrapped around your waist.
You usually cuddled the other way around, with your head on his chest but you knew Alfie needed a bit of reassurance.
You smiled as you kissed the top of his head, smelling the shampoo he used that always got you weak in the knees.
You were about to say something when he beat you at it.
"You are really soft", you heard him say and his outburst made you laugh, showing that he was still affected by sleep.
"Oh, really? You don't say", you laughed and you were sure Alfred was smiling as well.
You put your hand on his head, letting your fingers run through his hair gently and you could feel him relaxing, as were you.
After a few minutes of silent cuddling you heard Alfred's stomach grumble and you chuckled softly.
"Breakfast in bed?", you asked and you felt him nodding.
You nodded as well, before you came to a realization that left you groaning.
Who was going to make said breakfast?

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

All nation leaders and renowned scientists gather at the UN for a secret meeting, called by a doctor, declaring to have a way to perpetuate humanity... but on another planet, a very hostile one. Planet Exitium, the closest habitable planet, filled with deadly fauna and flora. This is the story about the people sent there- children, to be honest. Children with no idea where they are, what had happened to them, and what would be of their life. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my first story ever, and I hope you all like it, I'm sorry for the horrible piece of art that is the cover, I did it myself, and have absolutely no skills in photoshop, and I'll change it later. And yes, the MC's get some pretty OP skills and weapons.... At least until they find the enemy...
