《Wolf Sin of Betrayal {Meliodas}》008

I sit outside the tavern, with Y/N curled up against me both of us looking at a map and King floating beside us, "Hey Captain, where are we headed next?" King asks.
"There's a small town nearby called Vaizel that's famous for it ceramics. We'll gather information there," Meliodas says.
"You say that... But you're just looking for an excuse to drink," King says and I chuckle.
"How far is the town?" Y/N asks looking up at me.
"Not far, about 20 minutes away," I tell her and kiss her nose.
We arrive at the small town and jump down jump Hawk's mama as she buries herself into the ground and Y/N looks at the town on a mountainside, "It's a merchant town and it hosts a flea market festival every year," I explain and place my hand on her waist, "Anything can be sold there... Junk... Weapons... jewellery... Supposedly, there was even a royal crown from a distant Kingdom once," I explain.
"What does a flea market have to do with us?" Hawk asks.
I look at him, "I heard a rumour about a merchant in Vaizel who regretted buying 'A weapon that no one can use'," I tell him.
"Oh!" Elizabeth gasps and I slightly flinch but look at her, "A Sacred Treasure?!"
"It could be," I tell her.
"Cap'nnnnnn, who cares about that? Do something about my clooothes!" Ban whines a little.
I sigh and look bored, "Just cover your six-pack with an apron or something," I tell him.
Diane suddenly punches the ground and we all fly up, I hear a squeal and turn to see Y/N beside me. I spin and look up her skirt with a smirk, Perfect.
"Who cares about that?! What about me?!!" Diane shouts, "Why do I have to be the one to house sit?!"
"I already told you, giants aren't allowed at the festival as they made a ruckus a few years ago and trashed the place," I explain.
"I can house-sit with Diane," Elizabeth says.
YES! Yes, please!
I turn to the princess, "I guess that's fine," I say and look at Y/N.

"I want to have some girl talk with Diane and Y/N," Elizabeth smiles.
"Y/N you're staying?" I ask looking at her.
"No offence Diane, but no" Y/N says and suddenly her appearance changes, her wings are gone, "I hate this form so much," She grumbles.
My eyes widen and I look her over, I can't help but smile at her, "Beautiful," I comment at her.
Y/N looks at me, "It is not, I don't have my beautiful wings!" Y/N complains and I take her hand as we start to walk. Y/N flops down on her pillow and floats beside me.
We walk into the flea market and Y/N starts walking due to the many people, "There sure are a lot of people," Ban says.
"Don't get separated!" I say and pull Y/N closer to me as Hawk tries to starts trying to sell some ale, we walk past many different merchants and hearing them sellings anything on their stalls.
"An engagement and wedding ring found in the burnt-out castle of the Fairy Kings Forest!" A merchant shouts and we freeze turning to merchant, an older looking man, "You there, cute girl," His eyes are on Y/N and she walks to me, "You look like you have an amazing taste."
We follow her and I hold her hand, my eyes land on the rings I bought Y/N many years ago, "Those rings," I say, "How much?"
"10 gold coins," The merchant says.
"Sold," I say and hand over the money taking the ring, "It's worth a lot more than silver coins, but you seem like you don't know how to value jewellery properly," I say and we start walking.
"This crowd makes it hard to look for things, the only reason we knew about the ring set was because of him shouting it," I say and I look at Y/N, "Don't worry it's safe."
Y/N nods, "How can we look for anything in a place like this without them shouting what they are wanting to get rid of," Ban says.
"You really did go topless with an apron," King observes.

We walk past an elderly drunken man, "What are you looking for?" He asks and we look at him, "Guessing from your looks, you don't look like merchants, so you're participants in that thing?" He asks.
"We're looking for a weapon that no one can use, Sir," Y/N says with a smile.
"Just behind that," The man says points to a mountain or a giant boulder.
"Alright!!" We turn to see a man dressed up as a jester for the palace, "The annual Vaizel Fighting Festival is here!! No weapons allowed!! I any of you bastard want to let your fists do the talking enter now!!"
Ban leans down and licks his lips, "Of course we'll enter right, Cap'n?" He asks.
I smirk a little, "Shall we put an end to this once and for all, Ban?" I ask.
"Come on, you two!! Looking for Sacred Treasure comes before horsing around!!" King scolds us.
"Come on!" Ban and I whine at King.
"The grand prize is one hundred cold coins!! And as a bonus, you get... A giant's war hammer!!" The announcer shouts, "Found in a valley, it's stronger than steel and weight 2200 pounds! Please use it for a yard decoration or a child's toy!"
We all turn to the giant hammer, that's been pushed against the giant boulder, "Tha... That's Diane's Sacred Treasure, Gideon!" King says.
I throw Y/N over my shoulder and grab King by his could and start following Ban, "Hey!! We have four entries here!" I announce.
"Meliodas!" Y/N squeals a little and holds her skirt down over her butt a little better than it was, "I can walk myself!"
"Wa...Wait Captain! I don't want to!!" King says.
A tall muscular man picks me up and I instantly hold Y/N skirt down as we're held above his head, "Hey, this isn't a festival for kids! Don't you dare bring the level of this tournament down!"
"I don't know what you're saying..." I say very confusedly at the man's words.
He glares at me a little more, "What I'm saying is, get lost before you get hurt!" He says.
"One of you two is about to get hurt if my underwear is displayed!!" Y/N shouts and kicks the man in the face, hard making him release me and we fall. Y/N slips out of my hold and I hit the floor looking up to see Y/N in the arms of a tall man with blonde hair, "Thank you," She says looking at the man, "You can put me down now."
"Oh, sure!" He puts her down and he turns to the guy who was holding us up, "Come on, age doesn't matter during a festival! Let's just have fun!!" He says and looks at Y/N, "You okay now?"
"Y...Yes, thank you," She smiles at him before hitting me over the head, "Flipping idiot."
The man flexes, "Alright!! Every year, I wanted to enter, but my job kept getting in the way, but... Finally, it's my long-awaited first fight festival!" He looks at us and wink, "So, let's have some fun," He glances at Y/N and smiles before walking off.
Ban walks up to us, "I placed your entries too, Cap'n, Y/N and King~" Ban tells us as he walks to us.
"Thanks, topless apron," I say and smile at him.
"What?! Me too!?" King questions shocked that's he's also participating.
We walk onto the top of the giant boulder to the stage area for the fight festival, "If you are a participant, please come to the fighting rink on top of the giant boulder!"
I kiss Y/N's temple, "Have fun sweetheart," I whisper to her, "And you'll get your prize tonight."
"What's my prize?" Y/N asks looking at me with a smile.
"Your items back," I smile at her and she nods.
"Now, the moment you've all been waiting for," The announcer says, "The fighting festival preliminary begins now!!"
"One step closer to getting Diane's Sacred Treasure back," I say quietly with a smile to King, Y/N and Ban with my arms folded across my chest.

Unstable and weakened, will he be more hindrance than help? Can he become the warrior he once was?A Monk and a Monkey journey across a world...... where the remnants of technology are seen as magic, while pockets of humanity strive to drag themselves out of ignorance.... where the descendants of animal-human hybrids, once created as instruments of war, now seek to dominate the world as demons.... where beings who call themselves Immortals and Gods preoccupy themselves with selfish pastimes, ignoring everything else. Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.
