i yawned, stretching out my body as i woke up and opening my eyes to find mattia staring at me with a smirk plastered onto his face.
'morning beautiful.' he growled quietly in his morning voice.
'hey.' i squeaked, my voice adjusting.
i stroked his face, admiring his beauty as he ate up all the attention i fed him.
'what's the date today?' i asked him.
'it's the 5th of march.' he responded.
'damn its been nearly a month already?' i said.
'i fucking know right, it's felt like so much longer but at the same time it's all going so fast..'
mattia's voice started to trail off as i tuned out, suddenly feeling nauseous.
i leapt out of the warmth of the bed, my body instinctively telling me to rush into the bathroom.
i leaned over the toilet and let myself puke, this wasn't the first time this had happened recently.
i felt mattia's hand rubbing up and down my back.
'what is going on with you, y/n?' he sighed.
i got up and washed my mouth out immediately, disgusted by myself.
'i have no idea.' i replied.
'y/n...' said mattia in a cautious tone.
'yeah?' i replied.
'do you think you could be-'
'no,' i interrupted, 'there is no fucking way, mattia.'
'are you sure?' he said, 'this has been happening too often now.'
honestly, the thought had crossed my mind quite a few times.
'i don't know..' i said, my eyes beginning to tear up.
mattia embraced me, the way his arms snaked around me and held me close almost instantly making me feel better.
'you're gonna be okay, y/n.' mattia spoke into my shoulder.
i breathed in his pretty natural scent and sighed, detaching myself from him.

'there wouldn't be any harm in testing it, right?' i whispered, staring into his eyes to catch his reaction.
'i'm with you no matter what.' he assured.
after we had gotten ready, we headed downstairs and into the kitchen.
i sat down and spoke to mattia as i watched him make our breakfast.
'so, the plan,' i began, 'next time amber comes in to check on us, we beg her to sneak in a pregnancy test?'
amber was one of the officers who would check in on us, she was our favorite because she was secretly an ally to the cause, so she was super easy on us.
'yes, our plan is fucking solid.' replied mattia, flashing a side smile at me whilst trying to cook the eggs.
i slid off my seat and walked towards him, attracted to him like he was a magnet.
i wrapped myself around his muscular back, held on tight and rocked him slightly.
'you're so hot when you cook.' i said.
'well you're hot all the time so i guess that makes us even.' he teased.
i smiled into him, causing him to giggle as i tickled him.
'and... this is finished.' he said laying two plates down, turning around and picking me up.
i clung to him as he picked up the food and placed it on the table. he put me down and planted a kiss on my forehead.
'simp.' i said.
'only for you.' he replied.
i looked at my plate and felt an overwhelming rush of gratefulness and appreciation pour over me.
'no but seriously, you're the best, i love you mattia.' i said to him.
'i love you too, bitch.' he said, sitting down next to me.
we ate our food and sat there talking for hours, even after we had finished up.
i was washing up the dishes when the sound of the door swinging open made me jump slightly.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

Space: Not the Rear!
A man raised out of time who for the most part is screwed. A place into the distant future where magic and science collide, for the ultimate science will always appear as magic to those who don't understand it. Comedy ensues with 4th wall breaks, a V.I. and a game sponsor and other entertaining events as I make my character suffer.. *cough* Anyways this is for the entertainment and enjoyment of you the readers and me the author. I would say that each chapter is roughly only 1k words long each or I could say that each is condenced comedy gold. You decide which. Schedule = none. Will write as I feel inspired and will peter out at some point. So lets enjoy it while it lasts.
