Journey of Infinite Steps
Science Fiction/ Low fantasy Iliad. Oliver just wanted a job that could keep his family fed, and himself sane. Was that so much to ask for? Apparently. As he instead ends up facing monsters and dodging his way to another world instead. Competent as he views himself figuring out how to reopen a portal back home by himself is defiantly above his knowledge base. Of coarse it would be vastly simpler if he could keep 'getting back home' as his primary goal. 'Staying alive' is unfortunately a far more immediate and relevant goal. Try as he might, his Iliad will not be simple or peaceful as he'd like. Alas the slow and unending war of Chaos and Order has long memories and longer reach. If Oliver is to make his way back home it looks like He'll have to solve the universe one fight and mystery at a time. Especially as the Laws of Physics shift, often on a per world basis. Hopefully there is still a home to come back to.

They've cloaked themselves in a thick, dark magical aura that protects there husk, while they ravage towns absorbing citizen enlarging in size with every consumption. A recent spike in Derelicts has sparked a rise in the need for Nims; hunters that destroy Derelicts and claim bounties on rogues. However, with Derelict numbers continuing to rise, most kingdoms have begun to seek out the aid of specially equipped Nims carrying Ohgun Craft weapons. These weapons, forged in a time stolen from recollection, possess unique abilities and are immensely powerful. This is where our story begins, following Roy and his allies, known, and not yet discovered, when by chance Roy recovers a Ohgun Craft weapon of his own. Our hero is flung into a series of conspiracies that all seem to revolve around him, plans that set into play a chain of events that threaten to destroy the world as they know it.

November 2021 Update: So, it has been four years since I stopped working on this. Reading back, the first "book" is finished. It has what feels like an ending to an arc. Now it isn't a perfect story but I still like it and I can see myself starting the second book, might even this on Amazon or something. My biggest regret was never coming up with artwork for the cover though. Maybe I'll look into it.
