《[A Promise]>R. Tempest x Reader》Chapter 52×

A few days have passed since the tragic event happened and although everyone was still a little sad about the ordeal, everything was just a little bit back to normal.
You were at Rimuru's and yourself garden as you stared up into the bright, blue sky. You overheard that your husband was planning a meeting today, but as a person who was still mourning, you thought it was better if you stayed out of it. You didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable with your change of attitude. And besides, you knew Rimuru can handle it. He's a strong man.
You let out a shaky breath, mind being drowzed in anything you can possibly think of, only to suddenly pause at the sound of feet patterning.
"Um.. Madame Y/N." You stayed silent.
What did she want? How did she found out about you and Rimuru's secret garden? How dare she have the guts to come remotely near you.
"I..just want to apologize." Mjurran slowly continued her way towards you. It was no lie that she was terrified to even be near your shadow, but she wanted to hopefully make amends with you.
"How did you find this place?"
"Uh.. Sir Rimuru guided me.. Here.." She was hesitant as she spoke.
"Of course. Not even surprised." You muttered. You turned your head to face the vibrant, green head woman with a glare. "Speak."
"Oh.. Uh.." She stumbled over her words. "I totally understand why you despise me so much. I've done nothing but caused pain to you and your people." She bowed. "I'm not asking you to forgive me, but I am asking that you please give me another chance to redeem myself." She waited patiently, but nervously for your reply.
"I wasn't planning on forgiving you in the first place." You got up from your seat and walked up to the scared woman. "Honestly, if it wasn't for Rimuru, you and your knight in shining Armour would've been dead."

"..." Mjurran continued to listen.
"And I'm not gonna give you another chance. You don't work under me.. Ha. If you did..." You leaned closer to her ear. "You wouldn't even be standing in my presence." You left the girl speechless as you began walking off.
Mjurran was glad that she didn't mentioned befriending Elith. She was pretty sure you would've done worst than that.

"Y/N, I'm glad you're here." You walked into your husband's meeting room with a grim look, but was quick to change it into a smile.
"Hey, Rimuru." You gave the man a small wave.
"Glad to see you're doing a little better." You could only laugh at your husband's concerning features.
"Guess crying all day yesterday really did something, you know?" You examined the room. "Where did everyone go? I'm assuming you've just finished your meeting."
"They're getting ready to infiltrate the enemies' base." He strolled his way next to you. "You and I are going somewhere else." He grabbed a hold of your hand and walked out of his meeting room. "Your hands are so soft. Been a while since I've hold them."
"It has huh? I'm partially the reason."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because.." You stopped for a while. "I've been distancing myself, you know?" You awkwardly laughed.
"I don't think it's your fault at all. It's never been your fault, Y/N." Your husband gave you a soft smile. "You're in Tempest, so it's my responsibility to keep you and your people safe. I was the one who let you down."
You stayed silent. You won't lie and say it wasn't his fault. Cause perhaps.. It was. And after all of this, it honestly made you think about going back to your own kingdom. It still was something you weren't sure with.

"But I promise you, Y/N," Rimuru stopped in his spot before turning to face you. He grabbed your other hand and placed both of them onto his chest. "I'll protect you and everyone else in Tempest." Rimuru waited for you to say something. Anything, but he knew your trust in him has probably deflated a few. "It's okay, Y/N. You might not see it now, but I promise it'll happen."
Both then continued your way to where ever the blue head was going to.
