《Smoke (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)》Chapter 29

Y/n POV
My first reaction was to laugh. In fact, I laughed so hard that it soon turned into a coughing fit.
Katsuki's eyebrows drew together into a questioning scowl.
"What's so funny?" He asked as he simultaneously patted my back gently, aiding me as a I coughing fore longer than I intended.
I cleared my throat.
"How's that even possible? How do we get home?"
I questioned insistently, needing answers immediately.
"Well, we flew here and we'll fly back." He answered bluntly, not really explaining what I wanted to hear. I rolled my eyes at this.
"No shit. When is what I mean."
I flopped back down onto the plush white sheets, letting them cool my body temperature.
He sighed loudly in frustration due to my bitchy attitude, then turned around and stretched.
"Our flight is booked for the 12th."
I quickly reached for my phone which was conveniently placed on the white table beside the unnecessarily tall bed.
My eyes widened slightly in surprise.
"That's literally two weeks from now. Why?"
"Well" He turned back to me, dragging a navy blue, cushioned seat to my bedside before sitting on it. "They hadn't expected you to be up and ready enough to be discharged this soon I guess." He spoke with a monotone voice. He had a bored expression noticeable on his face as he intertwined one of his hands with mine, the other holding his phone as he scrolled.
I tightened my grip on his much bigger hand, smiling lightly at what seemed to be a subconscious action.
"And you said we were-"
"Alone? Yeah" He cut me off, finishing my sentence for me.
His eyes were still glued to the screen in front of him. I raised a brow at this, my face full of suspicion.
"What'cha lookin' at?" I asked as nonchalantly as possible.
Again, not even lifting his head to look at me. "Looking for a Taxi, why?"
"Oh, nothing."
A weird comfortable yet uncomfortable silence surrounded us.
He seemed..off.
"Hey, are you okay?"
He just grunted in response?
"U-um, I'm sorry if you um don't wanna be here." I internally slapped myself for stuttering so much.
He finally looked up.
"Trust me, I was gonna kill those motherfuckers if they didn't put me on that plane with you."

This time, I was the one who grunted in response. I grabbed my phone again, checking all my social media, missed callas and messages.
Most missed calls were from Katsuki, presumingly before he knew about the unfortunate change of plans during the mission.
But most of the messages were from 1-A's group chat.
1-A
Wait.
What about school? All the classes we'll miss?
I opened my mouth to speak but he beat me to it,
"And before you ask, we're excused from school. All Might will catch us up on our work once we're back."
I giggled quietly at this, feeling my heart warm knowing that he knew exactly what I was thinking without even making eye contact.
Our relationship was so odd. One minute we're all weird and the other it's like nothing happened. He's back to his angry self and I'm adoring his moody ass.
"What? Why're you smiling?"
"Nothing." I candidly responded.
"Right."
He snickered, standing up quickly and picking me up by my waist. He placed one arm under my ass for support and cupped my check with the other, basically covering most of my left side.
"Holy shit, Katsuki put me down." I blushed lightly,
My arms immediately and instinctively tangled around his neck as I pressed my torso against his chest. I wrapped both my lega around his waist; holding onto dear life.
"It doesn't look like you want me to." He cockily retorted.
"Not my fault that I don't wanna end up in a hospital again."
His smirk only grew before he put me down.
My legs were a bit wobbly, probably from not standing up for so long. I looked up at him for a quick moment.
"You're..taller." I mumbled more to myself than him.
"No shit, Smokey. What, did you expect me to fucking shrink?"
I smiled, not feeling like responding to his sarcastic remark hidden with a question.
"Welp, time to go!" I walked over to my suitcase, opening it and putting the pile of my old clothes ,which were seated on the nightstand, in the small bag whilst taking out some fresh ones and my toiletry pouch.
I walked effortlessly into the bathroom, feeling a lot better than the moments before.
Once I was out, I scanned the room for my favorite ash blonde.

Once my target was spotted, I silently creeped up on him, hugging him from behind.
He didn't even flinch.
He just turned to me, smirked that devilish smirk I grew to love. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek, something he didn't usually do, and spoke.
"Let's go, out ride is outside."
I nodded, reaching for my bag.
I felt the light, cool wind blow opposite of me as I walked out of the tall white building. It was much warmer than I expected.
"C'mon, over here." I heard the ash blonde say as he dragged me toward a white, expensive looking car.
He popped the trunk open, doing me the curtesy of putting my suitcase inside shortly after his.

Midoriya's POV
"Hey, Deku, have you seen (y/n)?" I heard the a girl's voice buzz behind me.
"Oh, Uraraka!" I felt my face heat up slightly before I could really think about what she'd asked me. "No, actually. I haven't seen her either. Now that I think of it; have you seen Kaachan?"
She put her small hand on her chin, making a pensive stance.
"No, I haven't seen him either."
We both seemed to look around the room, double-checking.
"That's odd. I don't think Kaachan has ever missed class before." I mumbled.
The pink cheeked girl only sighed. "I can't say the same for (y/n) but..today is the first day back from internships so I assumed everyone would be here. I also owed her some money so.." her gentle voice drifted off.
"Well I-i'm sure they'll t-turn up. It's still homeroom so -"
I was cut off as our raven haired teacher spoke.
"Settle down everyone." He sounded more tired than usual.
Everyone had already taken their seats when he spoke again.
"Today we'll be taking it easy considering that it's your first day back from your internships and I'm tired from a mission."
As he went for his yellow sleeping bag, Kirishima spoke up.
"If you don't mind me asking, sir, what mission?"
Aizawa seemed to drag the question but eventually answered.
"It was a drug and human trafficking bust."
Oos' and Aas' were heard around the classroom before peiple began asking for more details.
"Woah! You did that all alone?"Kaminari was the one to ask this time.
"No. I was working with Best Jeanist and some of his interns."
"Oh! Wait, isn't that the agency Bakugou and (L/n) interning at?"
"Yeah."
Ashido then bounced up from her seat in an energetic spur which is usual for her.
"Now that you mention it, where are (Y/n) and Bakugou?"
Many hums and nods in agreement were seen and heard around the room by most if not all the students.
Sensei only sighed as he pinched the bridge of bis nose.
"Most of the details are confidential but what I can tell you is that there was a miscalculation in (L/n)'s mission which led to her needing medical attention in the United States. Your other classmate, Bakugou, insisted she not go alone. They'll be back in 2 weeks once she has fully recovered. Is that all?"
The entire class went silent. It's safe to say that everyone was too worried to say anything.
"Alright, I'll take that as a yes. If you need anything, don't bother me, figure it out on your own. If you can't, then ask for some other teacher's assistance."
And with that, Aizawa-Sensei was back in his sleeping bag.
Mina's POV
I looked up at Kirishima, who was standing right beside me.
"I can't believe it...(Y/n)..she's hurt..."
the redhead embraced me in a tight hug, comforting me.
"It's gonna be alright. I'm sure she'll be fine. You've heard about the crazy quirks medics have over there in the States. I'm sure she's in good hands."
We stayed silent for a minute. Not long after we both happened to grin to each other.
"You heard what Sensei said though." The crimson eyed boy spoke.
"Mjm~" I giggled
"Bakugou wanted to accompany (Y/n)~!" We spoke in unison.
"And they're alone~." I dragged out the last word before pulling out my phone.
I quickly typed out and sent a get well soon text to my best friend.
💕💕💕
I giggled to myself as I put my phone back in my bag.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH." I heard a female voice screech.
"Kaminari calm down! It'just a lady bug!" I heard another voice laugh.
"Get it OFF ME."
