Eclipse II
Sun suddenly remembered his backpack. I was holding it. Now where did it go?
He scanned the room, still sitting on his bed. Then, he spotted his backpack. It was hanging on the doorknob. Sun looked at his left hand as he got out of bed. It was covered in white bandages.
Using his right hand, Sun grabbed his backpack by the strap and put it on his right shoulder. Opening the door, he entered a hall. He went down it and entered what he presumed to be the main room. Looking at a window, he spotted Moon writing an essay on an outdoor picnic table.
She immediately looked up from her paper when Sun was standing in the doorway. "Hey."
He smiled, "Hey."
Moon returned a small smile. "How're you feeling now?"
"A bit better," Sun replied, closing the door. "Thanks for asking."
"I mean you kinda did save my life."
"Kinda?"
"What I mean is that I would've saved myself anyways."
"Ouch."
"Sorry. It's just that, when people do something for me, I feel like I'm a weak person. And I've never spoken to a boy my age before."
"But you're the president-."
"Yeah, well, I was homeschooled before. My mother is letting me spend 12th grade in an actual school. It's only been like eight months. Boys my age are always too flustered and shy to talk to me for some reason."
"You're fourteen, right?"
"No, I just turned fifteen this past New Year's."
"Still, how're you a twelfth grader?"
"Skipped a grade. How old are you?"
Sun sat across from her and began taking his homework out. "Fourteen. Going onto fifteen this August."
"Cool."
"Whatcha writing about? Mr. Morris told us we can write about anything we want, right?"
"No, silly, he asked us to write about whatever place we went to."
"Like vacation?"
"Yeah."
"So, which place you writing about?"
"Lumiose."
"You went there?!"
"Yup."
"Nice."
"Haha, thanks."
Sun grabbed a pencil from his backpack front pocket. "I'm probably gonna write about Vast Poni Canyon."
"Do check your grammar and spelling after," Moon reminded. "Mister Morris is really picky about spelling especially. Make sure your e's don't look like c's."
"Will d-."
She interrupted him again, "Also, write your name in cursive. He'll give you an extra point."
"Really?"
"That's how much he loves cursive. Oh man, I've never told anyone about that."
"Is that like your secret weapon?"
"Kinda," Moon bit her lower lip. "So you've figured that my real name isn't Selene Yoruichi, huh?"
"..."
"Don't tell anyone I'm a Lumanlan, okay?"
"Why?"
"I just.. don't want people to know."

"I'm sure they'd be delighted to know."
"Too delighted."
"Too delighted?"
"Never mind."
Moon went back to writing her essay about Lumiose City and Sun began writing his. None of them said anything for the next ten minutes. Moon had already finished two assignments including the essay and was now working ona chemistry diagram.
Sun was on his last assignment: reading all the history textbook chapters except for the last one. "Man, the chapters are long and boring."
Moon didn't respond to Sun's disappointment. She seemed too focused on her diagram. He looked at her work. How she colored her drawings made everything look so realistic. "Sun, I have a weird request."
Sun almost fell off his seat. "Yeah?!"
"May we exchange numbers?"
"You mean phone numbers?"
"Yes. Precisely what I meant."
"Uh sure!"
"Great. So, what's your number?"
"I'll write it down. You write down yours."
"Hm, seems fair."
"Fair?"
"Whatever."
⇺⇻
"Hm, where is Sun?"
Hau was waiting for Sun in the Masalada Shop for the past hour. "Ah, he must've had something to do. Might as well leave."
Then, he felt a hand on his shoulder and heard a feminine voice. "Not yet."
The boy turned. "Hello?"
The girl smiled. "Nice to meet you."
"Who are you?"
"I gracefully go by Astrid. Countess of the Alolan Monarchy. I have a few questions for you," answered the blond girl. "If you don't mind, of course."
"Oh, er, I don't mind! You know who I am?"
"Hau Iki."
"Yup! That's me!"
Countess Astrid took a seat across from Hau. "So, what grade are you in?"
"Tenth."
"So your age is fifteen?"
"Correct."
"What month is your birthday?"
"September."
"Alright. So you are Mister Iki."
"Please, Hau."
Countess Astrid tilted her head. "Are you absolutely sure?" she asked. "That sounds very informal."
"I don't mind."
She smiled cheerfully, "Okay, Hau. Do you know a boy named Sun Taiyono?"
As she asked him the question, her cheerful eyes and smile were wiped off completely and replaced with seriousness. Hau sensed her dangerous desire. Astrid leaned a bit closer.
"Taiyono? What do you need him for?"
"So you do indeed know him, huh?"
"I asked my question first," Hau implied. "You answer first."
Astrid licked her lips before saying. "I'm a Countess. You answer."
"It's already obvious. I expect more than that."
The countess cocked an eyebrow. "Mister Hau trying to act all mighty, eh?"
Dangerous.
The word echoed through Hau's mind right before Astrid pulled out a pocket knife and unfolded it. "As Countess, I care for my region greatly. I won't let anything stop me from keeping it safe."
"Woah, woah, woah! Who said I was a threat?"
"Not you," she stood up. "That Taiyono boy."
"I have no clue where he is. I swear."
"Text him."

Hau's hands were shaking as he slowly pulled out his phone. He was eyeing on the pocket knife Astrid was holding, but once he laid an eye on it, he couldn't keep his eyes off of it.
As he frantically pressed his thumbs on the keyboard, Astrid began fiddling around with the knife.
Where are you?
Sorry, I have too much homework.
No, seriously!
There's this girl threatening me for your location!
Who?
Apparently, she's a Countess.
Tell her I'm in a boy's restroom throwing up.
Okay.

Sun was in disbelief. The monarchy was already placing a price tag on his head. He was sure that his master would refuse to shelter him any longer and Moon was his best shot.
"Sun, are you alright?"
His head shot up. "Just fine."
"You don't look like so.."
"I.. don't?"
"Nope," she replied, standing up. "I think I'm going to get something to munch on before hit the hay."
"You go to bed at seven?"
"Oh, I wake up really early."
Sun raised an eyebrow, trying to hide any worry. "And at what?"
"Four."
"Four?!"
"Yep."
"Now that's a number I can't even wake up at."
Moon giggled and questioned, "So, what time do you go to bed?"
"Probably at eleven?"
"I'm almost dead at eleven."
"Seriously?!"
"Yes."
"You should practice!"
"I'd rather not."
"Why not?"
"Because, no."
"I expect a Marchioness to have a better answer."
"Shush, won't you?" demanded Moon. "I haven't ever said this to anyone, but I hate being called a Marchioness."
Sun now raised both of his eyebrows. "Seriously?"
"The rank is intimidating. I just want to be a normal person."
"Why? Isn't cool to be part of monarchy?"
"No."
"What do you mean 'no'?!"
"People are all over you. You are the one making all those hard decisions."
"You get the high life!"
"And what does that make me?"
"A greedy brat."
"You got it. I don't want people to think that."
"Well I don't."
Moon's eyes squinted. "Don't tell me all this time you thought I wasn't."
"Um-."
"Yeah. I live alone here."
"Wow, lonely."
Moon ignored him, "I have friends and family that visit. But that's like once a month or ever other month."
"The bed I slept on wasn't yours, right?"
Moon looked down at her work. "Right."
"I live alone, too," lied Sun. "So, could I live here?"
Right after that, Sun received a bruise on his right cheek. "As if I'd say yes to a boy I only just met today."
"You don't trust me."
"You idiot! You think I'm that stupid!"
"Of course not. You're a Marchioness, after all."
Moon sighed. "But to be honest, I do would like some company. We'll see how it goes for today and tomorrow."
"Really?"
"Yes, Purple Man."
"What was that nickname for?"
"Your bruise is terrifyingly purple."
Moon tossed a mirror to him. He held it in front of his bruised cheek. "Oh wow. You hit hard."
"Is your jaw alright?"
"Juuust swell!"
Moon let a laugh escape her lips. "You're kinda fun to hang around with."
Sun formed a big smile on his face. "I'm glad you feel that way."
"Surprisingly, me too."
⇺⇻
"He's currently vomiting."
"Yuck," Astrid hissed. "Did he actually text you while coughing out his garbage?"
"I think so."
She took out her free hand. "Let me see your phone."
Hau panicked. "Um! Well! You wouldn't want to see! Uh! He took a picture-!"
"Okay, ew. Truly sickening! I'm going." the countess declared, forgetting what she was even there for.
Astrid stormed out of the Masalada Shop. When she was finally out of sight, Hau texted his friend a thank you.
Don't thank me. You took it from there, didn't ya?
Haha, yeah.
Hau, just be careful from now on.
What about you?
I'll be fine.
Although he knew Sun had went through a lot, this time, he was worried for him. "Dang it Sun," Hau would say after Sun survived something. "You're too much."
And Sun would laugh and respond, "I'm a spy, that's all."
Tell me what's going on. The monarchy is after you. Why?
Honestly, I have no idea. I just saved their favorite daughter's life.
The Marchioness/Soon-To-Be-Duchess?
Yes.
Man, you gotta tell me everything.
I'm going back to my house.
Be safe.
I should be telling you that.
Besides, you're the one who's wanted here.
I guess so.
Where are you actually anyways?
At her house.
⇺⇻
The Grand Duchess was looking down at her bitten fingernails when Countess Astrid suddenly bursted through her palace doors. "What seems to bring you here?"
"Grand Duchess," shouted Astrid while panting hysterically. "The boy you spoke of isn't helping us out."
Artemis looked up from her nails and raised her left eyebrow. "Did I ever say you could get a word out of him?"
"I'm certain you already know the answer to that, grand duchess."
"What're you planning to do?"
"Astrid, you are taking this too far. Taiyono isn't a threat in any way."
The countess seemed taken back. "Have you forgotten what he had done?!"
"Of course I haven't. What he did was just putting shame to your family name."
"Don't you dare say anything else."
"Astrid Novarro."
"What?!"
"To be real honest with you," began Artemis. "I don't care about your family anymore."
Astrid delivered a frightening glare. "And why is that?"
"Your family has been manipulating the monarchy for centuries. I wish for you and those akin to you to step down from their positions."
"Hah, you wish. Good selection of words. I'm surprised a woman who doesn't have the power to acts like she does."
Artemis paused for a moment. A sly smile formed on Astrid's face as Artemis struggled to know what to do next.
"Novarro, you're taking this too far."
Only one person called Astrid by her surname. Moon Lumanlan. Astrid quickly turned around. "Greetings!"
Moon was standing in the doorway. "Hey."
"Hmph," the blondie looked back at Moon's mother. "Does she know how to speak and act like a royal?"
"I believe my daughter knows how to speak and act like a royal. Just note that she is my daughter, not a real royal."
"Well, I have followed all the royal's rules! Shouldn't I be at least a bit higher than her?"
"Surely threatening an innocent young boy isn't on the rules."
"H-how-?"
Moon snapped her fingers, causing Astrid to look towards the marchioness. She was holding up Sun's phone. "This."
"Where is he?!" she angrily yelled.
The young marchioness still kept her emotionless face. "Somewhere."
Astrid clenched her fists. "You let him run?!"
"Nope. I'm right here."
