Leo
"What is the mitochondria?" Virgo asked, holding out a flashcard.
"The powerhouse of the cell!" I yelled, attracting some very dirty looks from the nearby students in the library. Virgo beamed, looking incredibly proud... and cute. Her cheeks flushed like they always did when she was excited and her eyes twinkled happily. She really was adorable. Adorable and an absolute tyrant. But still adorable. So, so adorable.
Snap out of it, Leo. The goal is still Libra. Not Virgo. Libra.
But lately, it felt like Libra had really and truly made her choice. Three months, and she'd only gotten closer to Scorpio. She never responded to my calls, to my texts, to my emails. Heck, she'd even unfollowed me on Instagram.
"...going out tonight, so I'll see you soon." Virgo picked up her bag, turning around, eyeing me suspiciously. "Everything alright?"
"Yeah," I replied. She looked so precious with her brows furrowed. The way she held herself made me want to bend over backwards for her. It made me want to buy her flowers and take her out dancing. It made me want to bake her those macaroons she was obsessed with and put an arm around her as the sun set.
God, I was obsessed.
"See ya," I called, turning toward my phone and dialing Libra's number. The line rang... and finally, it was answered.
"Libra?" I asked, excited.
"No, I'm a Scorpio," said the person on the other line. I narrowed my eyes, confused.
This was definitely Libra's number. It couldn't not be her number. "I'm sorry, is Libra Cole around? Maybe you've found her phone-she's a friend of mine, actually."
"This is my number," the voice replied. "I got a new SIM card yesterday. Maybe your friend has a new number. Anyhoo, don't call again." The person hung up, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Libra had really changed her number to avoid me. It was bad enough that she didn't acknowledge my existence at school and return any of my texts. Now, she'd made sure I couldn't text her.

I'm confronting her.
And this time, she can't avoid me.
.....
"Table for..."
"Just me."
The waitress shrugged, leading me to a small corner booth at the diner I knew Libra was going to with Scorpio tonight. Almost on queue, Libra and Scorpio walked in, Scorpio wearing a black button-down with blue jeans and Libra wearing a white dress with matching sandals. No jewelry. No stilettos. No dramatic jacket. Just a dress and shoes. Even though Libra looked happy with her outfit, there was nothing special about it. About her. This version of Libra wasn't fun or interesting.
She'll be fun once she comes to her senses and gets back together with you.
(Libra's dress)
"Come on, let's or-" Scorpio stopped talking once he spotted me, eyes narrowing.
"On second thought, let's eat somewhere else," he remarked, throwing me an incredibly dirty look. "Why? I like the bu-"
That was when Libra saw me. Her eyes didn't narrow like Scorpio's. Instead, they widened and Libra dropped her menu in surprise. "I-"
"Save it," I called, walking over to the 'happy couple'. "I'm here because you and I have a score to settle, Libra. I've called, texted, emailed. I've tried to talk to you but you've just blown me off again and again. I know things didn't end in the best way between us in sophomore year-"
"You broke her bloody wrist!" Scorpio yelled, furious. The waiters stopped abruptly as the whole diner turned to loom at us, intrigued. Libra hastened. "Continue," she prompted.
"I just don't think it's fair of you to take such drastic measures to ignore me. I don't want it to end this way between us, because I do care about you, Libra."
"Do you care or do you just want me back?" she asked, her glare colder than ice. "Of course I care, Libra, I've always cared about y-"

"No, Leo. You cared about the scared little girl who needed someone to take care of her. You cared about the old me. The broken me. I'm not that girl anymore, Leo. I'm not your girl anymore. I need to stay away from you to get closer to me. I need to become my own person, and you're just going to stop me from doing that and turn me into an indecisive, emotional mess all over again. I think-I think you need to move on, Leo. What we had wasn't great. It was messed up, and we both need a reset."
I blinked, unsure of what had just happened. Libra Cole had just calmly explained her reasons for avoiding me. She hadn't cried. She hadn't thrown fists. She hadn't raised her voice. She'd been logical and reasonable about it. She was calm, a lot calmer than the turbulent, violent girl I'd fallen for.
Maybe something had changed.
But I couldn't tell her that.
And so I scoffed, turning away. "Your loss, Leebs. I hope you and your loser boyfriend have fun at dinner. I'm out."
Scorpio snorted as people around the diner mumbled about their general dislike of me. I left the diner, running into a deserted alley, throwing my back against the wall and letting the anger, the disbelief, flood through me.
Libra was right. She was so right, it sickened me. She wasn't good for me and I wasn't good for her, and yet I couldn't live with myself, knowing I'd lost her. I called her and texted her and emailed her most of the time, hoping for a response, for some response. All the sleepless nights spent thinking about her and all of the restful nights spent dreaming of her, all the days spent thinking of her, watching as she smiled in Scorpio's arms, all of that jealousy... it was an obsession. And addiction.
I was obsessed with Libra.
Never in love.
Never in admiration.
Just obsessed.
And because of my obsession, I'd pushed thoughts of that perfect girl, of Virgo, out of my mind.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that Virgo was the one for me. Kind, smart, bubbly. Temperamental, stressed, neurotic. She was meant for me, I decided, and I was going to show her that.
I was going to show her...
