《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》4. Don't Get in My Way

Your first week at UA went rather smoothly. You fell into the groove of going to class, training and studying with no issue. You barely spoke with your brother but that was no surprise to you, you didn't expect your relationship to be fixed overnight. In all actuality you weren't even sure if things between you two would ever go back to the way things were and if this had become your new normal. You spent most of your time with Mina and a few of her friends. You got to know the girl from the locker room a bit better, Uraraka. You would sit with both girls, including Jirou, Tsuyu and Momo at lunch. Even though it was only a week you had grown to like them and found yourself even thinking of them as your friends.
"So, Y/N, has anyone caught your eye yet?" Mina questioned from across your lunch table.
"Please," Uraraka chuckled, "why would she want any of the boys here? She probably knows some famous, pretty guys."
You laughed at her comment. You knew she was joking around but those boys she was referring to never held any interest to you. They never had any substance and usually only wanted to date for appearances and to build a following. Though one boy at UA had caught your attention. You could never admit it to anyone but the hot-headed ash blond that your brother had befriended was someone you couldn't get out of your head. He was different from anyone you'd ever met and honestly, he was one of the few people that treated you like he treated anyone else. He wasn't intimidated by you or saw you for your job. Or at least that's what you deluded yourself with. After all you had only just met him.
"I can't say anyone has caught my eye," you said as you looked up at Mina. "I'm just not interested in dating right now, if I'm being honest." But that was only a half lie.
Before she could respond the bell rang indicating it was time to return to class. All of you stood up and began making your way to the classroom. As you walked in you noticed a note on the board.
Take this time to study and catch up on homework. Our class will meet tonight at 6pm . -Aizawa
"I wonder what we'll be doing?" Uraraka questioned.
"I have no idea but hopefully it's fun" Mina said excitedly.
"Do you want to study at the dorms until tonight's class?" Momo asked the group of girls.
All the girls agreed, and you made your way to the common area at the base of the dorm. You had fun studying with the other girls. You found yourself laughing and enjoying yourself. Your time spent in America was never this much fun. More specifically you never let yourself become close with anyone enough to have this much fun.
In all honesty you hadn't moved to America to pursue a modeling career. You initially moved to spend time with your grandmother. After your grandfather passed away, your grandmother had made the decision to travel and see the world. The first stop on her list was America and she wanted to stay there for a few years. You and your parents agreed that she shouldn't be alone and so you made the decision to go with her.

After living there for a while, you were approached by agents and you agreed to try modeling. More like your grandmother had told you, "you only have one life, don't live with regrets." And at the time you thought it would be fun, and it was, but some part of you also wished it hadn't taken off as quickly and as much as it had. But here in this moment, sitting between your new friends you felt so normal, you completely forgot about the last year or so that had gone by.
6pm had come much more quickly than you thought. Soon your class stood outside of Ground Beta waiting for Aizawa to give more details about today's assignment.
"Alright class lets get started. Tonight, you will be working on hostage situations. More so, your teammates have been taken hostage and you must work together to get them back. There will be teams of two, one team will be the villains holding a hostage and the other two will be the heroes sent to save their teammate. You will have 30 minutes to either retrieve your hostage or incapacitate the villains. I will separate you into teams."
You didn't really pay attention as Aizawa paired everyone up, until he called your name. "Lastly, Y/N and Bakugou will be partners." That pulled you out of your thoughts. You weren't entirely sure how you felt about being partnered with him. Yes, you found him attractive, but he wasn't someone who worked well with partners and the two of you had never agreed on anything since you've met him. You would never show it but you were a bit nervous on how this would play out. "Our first teams, Y/n and Bakugou will be the heroes. Kirishima and Sero will be the villains. Your hostage will be Denki."
Great, not only did you have to worry about working with Bakugou, but now you'd have to face your brother as well. You could overhear your brother talking with Bakugou as you walked towards Ground Beta.
"Don't think we'll go easy on you," Eijiro chuckled.
"Doesn't matter, I'm still going to win," Bakugou stated, unfazed by your brother's banter. He turned to look at you. "Don't get in my way" was all he said as he walked past you and into the fake city. You rolled your eyes and let out a breath. Yup, this was going to be great.
The two of you stood in the middle of the street about a block from the building Sero, Eijiro and Denki were in.
"So, what's the plan?" you asked as you turned to face Bakugou.
"You stay out of my way. I'll take care of Kiri, you find Denki. I'll take out Sero and you grab Denki and leave."
You stared at him incredulously. "You know I can help you right?"
"No, I don't. I don't know much about you and I can't trust your abilities right now."
"I'm your partner, I'm not some incompetent civilian."
"Maybe that's true but were not going to put that to the test right now."
You were shocked. Maybe you had judged him wrong. He didn't treat you the same as everyone else. He saw you as less, an incompetent girl that couldn't even help in a rescue mission. You were furious. You wanted so badly to yell at him, to tell him how wrong he was to think that way of you. But you held back. Yelling and arguing wouldn't get you anywhere. You would have to prove to him and everyone else that you were worth more than they bargained for.

You began to walk towards the building. You saw Eijiro standing outside on the front steps.
"Alright, you wait here, and I'll distract Kiri. You sneak by, get inside and find Denki. Let me know where you find him, and I'll meet you there. Do not do anything until I get there. Got it?"
"Whatever," you rolled your eyes as you began walking towards the building.
"Hey! Wait I told you to-"
Eijiro noticed you as you made your way towards him. "How did I know you'd walk through the front door?"
"I guess you just know me that well, E." You said in the sweet voice you knew annoyed him.
"I didn't think Bakugou would let you do much of anything during this." Eijiro spoke while trying and failing at hiding his smile.
"Oh, he didn't. But I don't need his permission to do anything. Where's Denki?" Your tone had turned serious at the mention of Bakugou's attempt at taking control of the situation. Your question ended up sounding more like a demand than anything else.
"Why would I tell you that?" Your brother asked, imitating your sweet voice, knowing it would annoy you back.
"Don't fuck with me, E", you were well aware that Aizawa could hear everything you both said but in that moment you didn't care. You were too angry to care. "You know what I can do, and you know you can't hide anything from me. Where is he?"
"Like I said, I'm not telling you anything."
Bakugou stepped in between the two of you. You had almost forgotten he was there. "We don't have time for your stupid sibling rivalry. Just go inside and find Denki, I'll take care of this."
"No, I don't think I will." You ignored his protests. Stepping out from behind him and you grabbed Eijiro with your quirk. Your quirk wasn't something you could use constantly but your emotions could fuel it and with how upset you were now you could probably hold a semi-truck at bay. You pulled your brother closer to the two of you. "I'll ask you one last time. Where is Denki?" He struggled against your quirks grip on him.
"Like I'll tell you. You can't just take what you want anymore." He nearly spat the words at you.
"Oh, yes I can," You never liked using this part of your quirk. It made you feel more like a villain than anything else. But at the moment it didn't faze you. You reached into your brother's head and began to dig for the information you were looking for. Eijiro's face quickly changed to one of pain and his teeth clenched together.
"What are you-" Bakugou's question was cut off.
"I won't give this up. You won't find your answer. I'll hide it from you for as long as it takes." Eijiro's face turned to one of determination but you could still see the pain in his eyes.
"Go ahead and try brother but you and I both know I always find what I'm looking for. And you know it will be much easier for you if you just give in." Your sweep of his mind was harder than usual but with a bit more effort you could see his resolve dissolving quickly. His head fell forward as he passed out from the effort it took to keep your quirk at bay.
"The basement," was all you said as you let Eijiro fall to the floor and began to walk towards the building. Bakugou stared at you. It wasn't one of fear or intimidation. Maybe confusion, you couldn't quite place the emotion on his face. "He'll be fine, he should be up in a few minutes. It was his own fault. He knew exactly what would happen if he resisted." You both made your way down the stairs towards the room you saw Sero and Denki in.
Bakugou grabbed your shoulder, forcing you to stop. "What was that?" he questioned you.
"Nothing you need to be concerned about right now." You retorted. "Eijiro will be up soon and I'm sure he's told Sero all about my quirk. So, I'll go in first and I'm positive he'll be focused on stopping me first. While he's distracted you attack, and we can get Denki and bolt."
He looked as though he wanted to protest but he also knew time was running out. If he wanted any chance at passing this assignment, he would have to suck it up and go with your plan. "Tch, fine, lets just get this over with."
You stopped in front of a door at the end of the basement hallway. "Alright, they're in here. You ready?"
"Why wouldn't I be? Just open the door dumbass."
You rolled your eyes and swung the door open.
"I was wondering when you would get here," Sero didn't give you a chance to so much as blink before he used his tape to wrap your arms by your side. "Can't use your quirk now," Sero spoke with a bit too much confidence.
"But I can!" Bakugou nearly yelled as he jumped into the room aiming right for Sero.
You knew Sero would be surprised to see both of you here and this would be over shortly. You swept the room for Denki and when you spotted him you began to make your way towards him. But you didn't make it very far before you were pushed to the ground. You turned around and found Eijiro standing over you. Well, he didn't stay out for as long as you had expected.
"I told you, I'm not going easy on you guys," he laughed as he saw your face turn to one of anger once more.
"Guys! Let me help you!" Denki shouted from across the room.
"No you idiot you'll only-" but before Bakugou could finish his protest, Denki had already begun to use his quirk. You saw the light of his electricity before you felt the pain. In an instant the pain went away, and your eyes began to close. You heard three thuds as the boys fell to the ground. The exercise ended with the four of you on the floor and Denki still taped to the chair.
