《The Impossible Girl》Seven

1850. 8 years later. Maria's Base.
Maria flitted about the kitchen, preparing breakfast for Melody. A plate full of bacon was set in front of Melody, along with so much more food.
"Do you really have to make so much food, Aunt Maria?" Melody asked.
"You know how I worry about you, dear. You grow slower than other humans," Maria explained.
Melody rolled her eyes and made her plate. Sure, she grew slower, but she didn't want to be treated differently. Melody was now 11 years old, but physically looked like she was 7.
"Humans," Melody grimaced. "Am I ever going to meet any humans?"
"I'm not sure, dear."
Melody threw up her hands in exasperation. "You've already taken me from my mom, you've used my powers for your gain and you keep me locked up. What more do you want?"
Maria appeared in the child's face, snarling in warning. "Watch your tone with me, young lady."
Melody glowered at the vampire, her anger making the ground shake slightly. "Where is my mother?"
Maria scoffed, jerking away from the child. "We've been over this, Melody. She could be dead for all I know."
"She's not dead!" Melody shook her head vigorously.
Maria sighed. "Stubborn as your father."
Even though Maria had whispered those words, Melody had been trained on hearing the low talking of vampires.
"What?" Melody demanded.
"Nothing," Maria snapped.
"No, you said that I was as stubborn as my father. How do you know my father?"
Maria stared at her, but entirely sure what to say. Melody had grown irritated with Maria's silence. Melody banged her hand on the kitchen table, her powers surged.
"Answer me!"
"He's a vampire!"
It was eerily quiet and Maria didn't like it one bit. Melody stared at her, not talking, not blinking.
"Explain," Melody finally spoke.
"He was still human whenever you were born, but he was in the Civil War. I came across him and... changed him. He was a part of my newborn army, my secret weapon because of his gift. He's gone now, ran off many years ago."
"Why didn't he come back for me?"
"When your mother had you, he didn't know. He probably doesn't even remember your mother, dear. When you change, you forget all of your human memories."
Melody slowly turned back around in her chair. She didn't speak, she just felt empty. Maria sighed, mad at herself for hurting the child. Ans also mad that she cared.
"Melody, I-"
"Get out," Melody said.
"Excuse me?"
The front door opened and Maria was pushed out of the door by an invisible force. The door slammed shut. Maria knew she could easily get back in, but she left. She had work to do.

When Maria was far gone, a newborn vampire snuck out from the shadows. He whistled his secret whistle. Soon after, Melody ran out the door, all smiles.
"Peter!"
"Hey there, little rascal!" Peter scooped her up and twirled her around. He caught sight of her teary eyes.
"You've been crying," he frowned.
Melody's mouth turned down. "Maria told me about my dad."
"Your dad?"
Peter set Melody down, sat on the ground and patted the space next to him. Melody sat with him and rested her head on his arm.
"She said that he fought in the Civil War, and she changed him."
Peter started thinking, her father was a vampire. Could he find him?
Not the time. Mother and father will come for her.
So, her mother and father will come? When?
Peter pulled the child into his lap and rocked her.
"Don't worry, sweetie. When the time is right, your parents will come for you."
Bella and Edward were sitting on her bed. Edward noticed that Marrisa was up on the roof.
"What is she doing up there?" Edward asked, looking straight up.
"She likes to go up there to think," Bella smiled, pulling back her comforter.
Bella climbed into bed, snuggling into the blankets. She was so amazed to find out how old Marrisa really was. She had actually met and talked to Jesus Christ, she didn't know what to think about that. When she turn to look at Edward, tension immediately rose in the room. Edward was staring intently out the window, he started growling.
"Edward, what's wrong?" Bella asked.
"Someone is watching the house," Edward growled. "Marrisa, please come inside!" He called.
"Why?" Marrisa called from the roof.
Suddenly, a muffled gunshot pierced the silence. There was a cry and stumbling, then Bella caught a glimpse of Marrisa falling past her window. Bella jumped out of bed, a strangled sob creeping up her throat.
"Marrisa!"
Edward had disappeared, leaping out of the window to catch Marrisa before she hit the ground. Edward successfully caught her, only to be shot at as well. Bella had dashed downstairs and ran around the house. Edward had carried Marrisa into the woods behind the Swan house, not realizing that Bella was following, much to his dismay.
"Alice! You have to keep him calm!" Marrisa cried, knowing that she would see this happening.
Bella appeared by Marrisa's side crying.
"Marrisa! Oh, my God!"
Marrisa was surprised to see Bella, then realized that she was in danger.
"Bella, get back inside!" Marrisa yelled.
Another muffled shot, obviously covered by a silencer. Marrisa immediately threw her hand out; she knew what was about to happen. Bella whirled around to be stopped by a bullet millimetres away from between her eyes. Marrisa had saved her once again.

Edward appeared in front of them, a wild look in his eye. Marrisa got a good look at the bullet before it fell to the ground. She doubled over in pain.
"I know who it was," she huffed out.
Marrisa was suddenly being touched by cold hands, making her jump.
"Its just me. What the hell happened?!" Jasper's worrisome voice demanded.
Marrisa looked up, meeting his black eyes. Jasper's head snapped toward a sound, then he growled.
"Bring him to me," Marrisa ordered.
Jasper gently let his wife go and headed to the man that shot his wife. Marrisa struggled to sit up, Carlisle appeared behind her.
"Jasper," Marrisa called. Jasper turned. "I want him alive."
Jasper growled at his wife in outrage. Why in the fuck does she want him alive!? Marrisa slammed her hand down, her powers surged, making the ground beneath them rock. A few places in the ground cracked. Jasper snarled, accepting what she wanted and went after the bastard.
Jasper tracked down the man about two miles out, he knocked him to the ground. He snatched up the rifle and snapped it in two. The man yelped and whirled around. He was an older man, graying hair; almost white. His skin wrinkled and tan, like he had been outside most of his life. The man lifted up his hands in surrender.
"Name," Jasper snarled.
"G-gus. Look, man, I don't want any trouble," the man shivered.
Jasper smiled sadistically. "You should have thought of that before you shot my wife."
"Your what?" Gus's eyes became a deer on head lights as Jasper snatched him up by his collar. "I-I- I'm sorry! I didn't know!"
Jasper ignored the rest of his pleas, dragging him back to the house, and resisting the urge to rip him apart slowly.
Marrisa was lying on the kitchen table with Carlisle working on her. Jasper tossed Gus onto the floor in front of them. Gus shook while sitting up, looking up in fear. Marrisa looked down at him.
"Hello, Gus. It's been a minute," she smiled.
Gus didn't say anything. Marrisa winced as Carlisle pulled the bullet out. Bella was standing back a ways, watching in horror as her sister bleed out on the table. Edward stayed close to Bella, rubbing her arms in comfort.
Edward turned his attention to the front door, starting to worry.
"Charlie will be home very soon," he informed.
"It'll be fine," Marrisa whispered.
"Marrisa, you've been shot! He's going to flip out!" Bella cried in desperation.
Charlie's cruiser pulled up the drive, he got out and headed for the door. As the door opened, Gus started pleading again.
"Please, don't let him kill me!"
"Shut up, Gus. He's not going to," Marrisa slurred. She was suddenly getting very tired.
Charlie rounded the corner and froze, taking in the scene before him. His eldest daughter, bleeding out on the kitchen table as the best doctor in town was working on her, a few of the Cullen children scattered about the kitchen looking worried, Bella cowering in Edward's side, the man that has tried killing Marrisa before. There he was sitting in his kitchen; he had promised that bastard that if he ever saw him again, he'd kill him. So, Chalie raised his shot gun.
"Dad, wait. I want to do it," Marrisa giggled.
Charlie cut his eyes to her, frowning. "You're delirious."
"I've lost a lot of blood, of course I'm delirious."
"And you'll take care of this?" Charlie asked, gesturing his gun toward Gus.
"Mhm..." Marrisa softly hummed. Her breathing slowed, as if she were taking her last breaths.
"Dad?" Bella called.
Charlie met Bella's tearful eyes and softened his demeanor. "It'll be okay, Bells. She'll come back."
"Has this happened before?" Carlisle asked indecriously.
"Yeah, just let her be."
Carlisle looked skeptical, sneaking a glance at Jasper, who was staring at his wife expressionless. Was he using his power? Taking away her pain? Marrisa's heartbeat stopped, and Jasper blinked. Everyone was silent.
After a several minutes, the wound in Marrisa's body had slowly healed itself. Soon after, her heartbeat started up slowly. Marrisa opened her eyes and sat up, looking incredibly pissed.
"Alright!" Marrisa clapped, making Bella jump. "You all need to leave."
"But... how did-" Bella started.
"Later, Bella," Marrisa snapped.
As everyone left through the front door, Charlie stopped in front of Gus, who was staring at Marrisa like she had grown two heads.
"She's gonna have a field day with you," Charlie warned, and stepped out of the house.
Marrisa and Gus were alone, finally. She hopped off the table and started circling the man that killed her twice.
"Let's have a chat, Gus."

The Wolf Saga, Wolf that Devours Empires
The Empire of Human is about to enter a turbulent era. A World Power has fallen. But mere hours after dying, he is reborn as a half-human, half-elf boy named Wolf. The story follows this odd boy as he grows up, his relationship with his father and those around him, his lack of common sense from being raised in the wilderness, and his desire for revenge. Witness Wolf's journey as he aspires to climb to the peak of the world to unravel its mysteries, and as he tries to figure out why it’s wrong to decapitate a street thug when the man tries to mug you. “I mean, the man literally said ‘Money or life,’ so what’s the big deal?” Releases Mon/Wen/Fri. (GMT-ish) Trigger warning. The Wolf Saga may not be suited for you if any of the following disturbs you: - The story will have fighting and killing. The gore will not be explicit, but there will be descriptions such as "head burst like a melon", "instantly turned to cinders", "blood splashed/fountained" etc. Most of the violence will be performed by the protagonist, some of it before he reaches his teens. If such scenes bother you, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have sexual content. It's there for a reason. Once again, these scenes will not be explicit. Genitals will be mentioned sometimes, but never described in detail. Nude bodies will be described in passing, without too many specific details. If you're afraid of nipples, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have a decent amount of cursing. If you haven't given up by now, this is unlikely to bother you. Still, I believe I should forewarn you that a number of curse words will be making appearance from time to time. - The story will have no small amount of loss for the main character. If you enjoy novels in which everything is fine, the protagonist makes it at the last moment and saves the day... This is not such a story. Life happens. As a reader, I'm annoyed with heroes making it in the nick of time, so for the sake of fairness I used dice on a number of occasions, making do with the result. Sometimes it was anticlimactic, sometimes it was tragic and it led to the story you see before you. Dedication: This story is written for Tired Mom and Wolf, whose arrival the rest of the pack is eagerly awaiting. Thanks: I would like to thank Tired Mom for her proofreading and encouragement over the years. I would like to thank you, Dear Reader, for taking the time to read this big pile of words.
