Pet You Get: A Kitten!
Although you didn't think Light would be too upset, you still didn't want to anger him by bringing a kitten to the apartment, but you just couldn't help it! You found the little kitten in a window at a department store and you just had to take him. The kitten was small with orange fur and little black spots. He was absolutely adorable. You were playing with the kitten on the bed you and Light shared when Light walked in and cringed slightly. Ryuk, automatically broke into laughter.
"Why is there a kitten on our bed?" Light asked.
"I know, I know I didn't ask you first but I couldn't not adopt him. I mean, look at him! He's so adorable," You say handing Light the kitten. He tentatively holds the kitten and rubs its head.
"Well, I guess he is cute. What's his name?"
"I thought I would leave that up to you."
Light hums a little and looks into the kitten's eyes before smiling. "Grendel."
Pet You Get: A Dog! (specifically a German-Sheppard)
The moment you brought the large dog into the living room, Lawliet practically jumped up from the floor onto the chair away from dog.
"What is that, (F/N)?"
You laugh. "A dog, Lawliet."
"Why is there a dog in our house?"
"I know I should have asked first but my aunt and uncle can't take care of her anymore so they asked for me to take her in. I'm sorry, but please let her stay." Lawliet did not want a dog in the house. He feared the dog ruining things, or getting in the way of work, but he could never say no to you and he could see the pleading look on your face. He sighs and nods his head in which you squeal and jump into his arms.

"What is her name?" Lawliet asks.
"Calypso."
"Interesting name."
Pet You Get: Two Rats
"When I agreed to us getting a pet, I thought you would go and get a cat or something, not two rats," Mello says staring down at the pet cage holding one white rat and another black rat. You smile putting the cage on the ground and pulling out the two rats gently.
"This is Eurymachus," you say holding up the white rat, "and this is Amphinomus," you say holding up the black rat.
"You named the rats after suitors in The Odyssey?" Mello asks astounded. You nod your head happily. Mello chuckles and sits on the ground with you. "I love you more and more everyday," He says taking Eurymachus in his hands.
"They're brother and sister too."
"Good, so they won't make more rats, right?" Mello asks furrowing his brow.
You laugh a little. "Let's hope not."
Pet You Get: A Snake!
You giggle as the pet snake you adopted a few hours ago slithered around up your arm. Matt walked in and practically screamed when he saw the snake. He ran to prowl it off of you, worried you were in danger, but you quickly stopped him and assured him everything was alright.
"I didn't know you could keep snakes as pets," Matt says slightly annoyed while standing as far away from the snake.
"Really, Matt? You're a genius and you didn't know that you could adopt snakes from pet co?" You ask laughing at him. He just rolls his eyes. "Don't worry, babe, you won't even have to go near Oedipus. I will do all the feeding, the cleaning of the cage, all that sort of stuff."
"Oedipus? You named the snake Oedipus?"

"Yep!"
He sighed rubbing his temple before slowly walking towards you and reaching his hand out. "I would like to hold Oedipus," he says hesitantly. You gladly let the snake roam up your boyfriend's arm.
Pet You Get: A Fish
You and Near sit quietly for twenty minutes or so watching the golden fish, Tiresias, that you bought from the pet store swim around it's small bowl. "This is boring," Near says after awhile. You try to feed the fish more food in hope that it will do something, but Near stops you saying that if you feed it too much food, the fish will die. "Why did you get a fish? You should have got a bird."
"Oh, please. A bird would have annoyed the hell out of you."
"I guess you're right." You both turn back to the fish, and watch it for another five minutes. "Can we do something?" Near asks.
"With the fish?"
"No, just something in general. This is extremely boring. Let's build a puzzle!" He says excitedly. You laugh and take his hand walking towards the cabinet holding all your puzzles.
"Can it be a puzzle of a fish?"
"Sure, I don't care."

Kingdom of Tyr (Original)
This fiction has been concluded as of the end of Book 1, the portion of the story posted here. There will be a complete rewrite as a separate fiction in the future to make the system more consistent and add more to the world while expanding on the events within this fiction. This rewrite will begin eventually, posted as a separate story. Colt, twelve, is walking home from school when he's approached by another boy dressed oddly, who asks him - theoretically - about living in another world. After asking some information about the theoretical other world, Colt says he'd probably prefer to live there, to get away from the problems he has on Earth. Once Colt confirms that, he finds himself in an abandoned city, the other boy revealing himself to be a god, who then offers to train Colt until he can stand on his own and live by himself. After a couple of months, the god sends Colt off for greater training, to learn to use both Aura and Mana, with his only instructions being to return every now and then to visit, and to make friends and have lots of fun. This story follows Colt, a boy named Tyler he meets in the new city, and their journey to growing stronger, having fun, and striving to beat each other. Note: this story is not intended to be professional-quality, and it does draw inspiration from many sources. That said, it is its own story, in its own world. It has never been and never will be edited. It will also have multiple PoV's, starting somewhere after Chapter 8.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
