🍭- Prologue
(Clothes)
You stood outside the tall building, looking at the gate that stood in front of you. The nature that grew in the school was inviting you inside to the illustrious school. You quickly glanced at your clock 7:50, just ten minutes until the entrance ceremony. You smiled, ready to make new friends and continue your profession as a hitman.
You smiled at you took a step forward, through the gates, ready for adventure. Suddenly, your vision became blurry and you felt like you were stumbling about in darkness, as you felt yourself collapse to the floor. Did you faint?
You felt a cold hard floor beneath you and you fumbled around trying to adjust to your surroundings. You pulled yourself up off the ground and brushed the dirt off your dress. You looked around the room you were in. It was a classroom, but the windows were covered in big metal plates that seemed impossible to remove. A security camera was secured in the corner and a monitor sat beside it. There was a big blackboard upon a picture of a black and white bear was drawn with one red eye. What was this? A few of the desks and chairs were thrown over and random marks were etched into the wall. You reached for the handle of the door but jumped when a voice filled the room. You turned around searching for the source, and see the monitor's screen flash on.
'Ahem, this is a school announcement, all students please make their way to the gym immediately,' The voice was high and very odd. It didn't sound familiar to you at all, but you reckoned that it was important to follow the expectations. Perhaps this was all a big trick to try and fuel the new students. Your mind tried to give you reasonable explanations.
You pushed the door and entered a dark hallway which had a kind of purple lighting. You travelled along the corridor, trying to remember the layout of the school. You managed to find your way to the main hall entrance, just as someone else did. He was a tall thin boy with blonde hair and a pair of black glasses sitting on his nose. He quickly glanced at you before entering the main hall. you heard him mutter something under his breath. You entered after in, seeing a few more students in there.

'So there's 9 of us so far, the others must be lost, but that is no excuse,' A boy with black hair and red eyes announced. He was wearing a white uniform with red and gold on it. He looked a lot like a typical 'follow the rules' guy. You glanced around, your eyes landing on your friend, Junko Enoshima.
'Junko!' You cried, running over to her and embracing her into a tight hug. She had her hair in two bunches with a rabbit and a bow hair bands. She was wearing her normal attire, a red checkered skirt with a white skirt, she also wore her black jacket with another bow.
You looked up at her blue eyes, noticing her freckled cheeks. 'Wait... Mukuro..?' I murmured. Her eyes widened before she whispered to me.
'I'll explain it later, but for now, I'm Junko,' She grinned, copying the real Junko's facial expressions.
After a while, a further 7 students walked in, we all started to converse. None of us were sure what was going on, well, apart from mukuro. Before we could continue the same voice from before filled the room. 'Ahem, ahem! Testing, testing! Mic check 1, 2! This is a test of the school broadcasting system! Am I on? Can everyone hear me? Okay, well then...! Ahh, to all incoming students! I would like to begin the entrance ceremony at... right now! Please make your way to the gymnasium at your earliest convenience. ...That'a all. I'll be waiting!,' The voice cut out along with the static on the monitor that portrayed an odd outline of a... bear?
I looked over a Mukuro, she suddenly switched her facial expression to confusion and panic 'What. The. Hell was that just know?'
The blonde guy from before, Byakuya Togami announced 'Well then, if you'll excuse me...'
Junko blurted out before he could leave 'H-hey! What, you're gonna take off just like that!?'

Yasuhiro made a remark about this being an elaborate trick to get us pumped up.
'You say it's a joke, but it feels too real... surely they wouldn't go that far to bolt the windows just for a trick?' You stiffened as you tightened your hands. Adrenaline was running through you, you wanted to run, scream, fight. You decided to follow the rest out of the main hall, you didn't know how you felt about Mukuro masking herself as Junko. You walked with a small girl with blonde hair, Chihiro Fujisaki, the Ultimate Programmer.
Everyone stood in the gym, waiting for something to happen, anything at all. The gym looked like a normal gym, 16 chairs were laid out for us and a podium was sitting on the stage. 'See? Told ya! It's totally normal entrance ceremony stuff,' Hiro placed his hand on his chin. I guess he was right, it was all a big prank.
Suddenly, the same voice entered the room again. 'Hey there, howdy, hello! Is everyone here? Good! Then let's get things rolling!' You looked around for the source of the voice, your eyes landing on the stage. A small half white, half black bear popped out, landing on the podium. He had half a grin and one red eye.
'Huh? A... teddy bear?' Chihiro raised an eyebrow. This entire ordeal made you feel a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach.
'I'm not a teddy bear! I...am...monokuma! And I am this school's headmaster!' The bear announced.
'What the heck is this?' You placed your hands on your hips. This wasn't normal. He had an eerily cheerful voice.
'Nice to meet you all!' His mouth didn't move, yet his voice was so clear. Who had done this?
Hifumi started to panic and taka tried to give logical explanations. Monokuma looked serious, people were calling him a teddy bear, which seemed to make him angry.
'Now then, moving on! We really must hurry and get started...' He exclaimed. To which '"Junko" responded 'Giving up already? No other stupid bear puns?' He ignored her stamens and carried on. 'Quiet down, now, quiet down. Ah, okay, so...! Everyone, stand attention and bow! And... good morning!'
Taka bowed, almost immediately when monokuma said so. 'Good morning!!!'
Monokuma continued to ramble. 'Now then, let us commence with a most noteworthy and memorable entrance ceremony! First let's talk a bit about what your school life here will be like. Now, ah, make no mistake - you few students, so full of potential, represent the hope of the world. And to protect such splendid hope... you will all live a communal life together solely within the confines of this school. Everyone will live in harmony together, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the school. Ah, now then... regarding the end date for this communal life... There isn't one! In other words, you'll all be here until the day you die! Such is the school life you've been assigned,'
No way, what you were hearing couldn't be right. No.. you couldn't live here forever.. you had to get out..

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them. If you read this story then you won't lack for content. -- The Topps Company, Inc. has sole ownership of the names, logo, artwork, marks, photographs, sounds, audio, video and/or any proprietary material used in connection with the game Shadowrun.
