《Falling For You {Kita Shinsuke}》{Chapter 7: The Practice Match}

Next week came faster than expected...
I thought while walking towards the gymnasium with the girl's volleyball team.
"Wah~I'm so excited!!!" Nina yelled out, hands spread out as we walked.
"Yer not even playing, Nina" Haruko deadpanned.
"We have a few practice matches this week too" I reminded the energetic girl.
"Hey!!! Leave me alone and let me feel excited, why are you so mean?!?!?" Nina whined.
We walked into the gym, earning some stares as we went to find seats.
"Looks like the girls came to watch"
"They're all so intimidating!! And so tall!!"
"I wish I could look like that"
I heard the continuous comments some students had to say about us.
"I didn't know we were so popular" Yuko commented.
"I didn't know they could see ya, Yuko" Yukiko deadpanned.
"We're the same height!!!" Yuko shouted.
"I'm just going to go find my brothers" I said to the team, wanting to avoid the noise.
"Sure, we'll save a seat for ya~" Nina replied, walking with the others to the seats.
I walked towards the boys, catching Osamu's attention as he also stood up and walked to me.
"Nee-san? Yer watching the game?" he asked.
"Yea, I just came to wish you guys luck" I explained.
"Thanks, Hana" Aran smiled.
"Though we don't really need it" Atsumu boasted.
I pushed his head harshly.
"Hey!!!"
"Go and warm up" I told him as he begrudgingly obeyed, walking onto the court with the others.
"Hey, Miya" Kita called out.
"Oh hey, good luck on yer match" I said, lightly slapping his back.
"Thanks, by the way, our coach would like to speak to you" he mentioned before joining his teammates on the court.
Huh?...
"You must be Miya Hana, the Guardian Fox" a voice called out.
I turned to see a middle-aged man with black-rimmed glasses.
"Yes, it's nice to meet you, coach Kurosu" I replied, bowing respectfully.
Even the coach knows that nickname...that's so embarrassing...
"Yer quite different from yer brothers, aren't ya" he laughed.
"It seems so..." I replied, noting his laid-back personality.
"Anyways, I know yer probably came to watch but I would like ya to be a temporary manager just for today, I think the boys will benefit a lot from this" he revealed, looking at the opponents who were warming up.
What?...
"I see, but I dont think I'll be good enough..." I trailed off.
"Oh that's fine, it's understandable, I understand if you don't want to do it, Miya" he replied, smiling.
"N-no, I'll do it, it's only for today, sir" I agreed.
"Right, thank you so much, the bottles and towels are in the storage room" he told me before walking over to the opponent's coach.
I started walking to the storage room, looking up at my teammates who were looking at me with very confused expressions.
'What are yer doing?' Haruko mouthed.
I didn't know how to explain so I just pointed at the boys and made hand gestures for water bottles as she nodded in understanding.
What? She actually understood that? I didn't even know what I was talking about...
I walked in the storage room and carried the crate of clean towels towards the bench and proceeded to go back and get the bottles to refill.

Luckily there's a water fountain just outside...
I thought while walking outside to fill up the bottles.
I heard the match starting.
I wonder how long this is going to take me?
.
.
.
After filling up the water bottles, I went back inside.
That took so damn long...why are there so many water bottles...I missed some of the 1st set for this...
As I walked inside, the opponents called a time-out and walked off the court, Inarizaki doing the same.
"Ugh, do we have to fill up the bottles, I'm already getting tired"
"We should've filled them before we started"
They sound so pitiful...
I thought while holding back a laugh.
They were oblivious to my presence walking behind them as they continued to complain.
"I want water..." Osamu whined quietly, not being heard by the other players as he was standing further away from them.
"My poor baby, here ya go" I cooed quietly, handing him the bottle as he stared at me with wide dark-grey eyes, I ruffled his hair.
"Thanks, Nee-san" he replied, smiling slightly as he began to drink, walking towards his teammates.
I walked over to the bench and was about to call everyone over.
"Eh? Where did ya get that water?" Atsumu questioned suspiciously.
"From Nee-san" Osamu replied, honestly.
"Don't be stupid, she's is probably up in the bleachers, watching us" Tsumu retorted.
"Suit yourself then" Samu shrugged, walking to the other members and quietly telling them that you're handing out water bottles.
One-by-one, they caught onto Osamu's plan and discreetly made their way towards me as I held back a laugh.
"Thank you" they all replied, going back to their places and drinking the water.
"Thanks, Miya" Kita said, smiling at me.
"It's no problem...Tsumu is so dense sometimes" I replied, looking towards my still oblivious brother, his back turned to me.
"He'll realise eventually" Kita sighed out.
The time-out was going to end soon...
"Tsumu, do yer still want yer water?" I called out as he looked at me.
"Yea, thanks" he said, looking back to where he was originally staring, still confused about what his brother said, until realisation hit him.
"WHAT ARE YER DOING HERE?!?!" he screeched, catching the attention of his teammates.
"Oh you finally realised..." Suna snickered.
"WHY DIDN'T ANY OF YA TELL ME?!?!"
.
.
.
I've got to say, I'm very entertained...
I was sitting next to the coach, watching the team play together in sync, my gaze then landed on Kita.
He's a very good defender...I've yet to see him make a mistake...
I noted while continuing to watch the game.
The twins went for a quick but Osamu missed, not used to the speed quite yet.
"YER TRASH!!"
"SHUT UP, I'M JUST NOT USED TO IT"
"YER JUST TRASH, THATS WHY"
The twins continued to bicker, until they felt a threatening aura that only they could feel.
They turned slowly towards the benches, seeing their sister, smiling at them.
This smile might look harmless to a non-family member, but the twins knew this is was the smile that basically said 'If yer don't stop, I'm going to obliterate the both of ya' and with that the twins stopped arguing and went back to their positions.

'What just happened?' the boys' all thought, before going back to the game.
"Wow, aren't the Miya twins so cool?"
"I know right? They're so handsome too!!"
This is only a practice match and they're only first years but they're already getting popular...
I thought, getting a bad feeling about it.
This is probably a sign of what's to come...
"THANK YOU FOR THE GAME" the players said, bowing to each other as the gym started to empty out.
"The boys will be able to take it from here, thanks for all the help, Miya" coach Kurosu thanked.
"It was no problem. I'm happy to help, I'll be taking my leave now" I replied, bowing before walking towards the doors where the girls were waiting for me.
"So how was it?" Haruko asked, gesturing to the boys.
"It was entertaining to say the least" I replied, slightly chuckling.
"We saw the trick Osamu pulled on Atsumu" Nina laughed.
We walked out of the gym and started to walk towards the gates.
"Nee-san!!!" Osamu called, running to me.
I turned to my distressed brother, slightly startled.
"What is it?" I asked, concerned.
"There are random girls wanting my number and I don't know what to do about it" he explained, his face showing complete and utter disgust.
My teammates hid their laugher behind their hands, even though I could hear them.
"Oh...where's yer brother?" I asked, not seeing the blonde anywhere in sight.
"He's still inside, I left him there, why?" he replied.
"...Samu, yer can't just ditch yer brother like that" I scolded.
I turned to my teammates and before I said anything, they waved me off, gesturing to go and save my other brother.
"Sorry guys..." I trailed off.
"It's fine, it's yer brothers we're talking about, Atsumu is most likely dead though, just saying" Haruko replied, lazily smiling and waving.
After saying goodbye, I went to the gym again with Osamu walking behind me.
"Why are yer walking behind me?" I asked, my concern for him slightly rising.
"Just incase they start attacking..." he murmured, putting his hands in his pockets.
I sweat-dropped and sighed as I saw the gym's entrance.
I was about to walk inside without another thought, until Osamu grabbed me, pulling me away from the entryway.
"What the- Samu! What's with ya?!" I shouted perplexed.
"I change my mind, I'll go in first, yer too important to lose" Osamu declared.
"You're starting to worry me, Samu" I told him.
Osamu walked inside as I followed, easily spotting the blonde in a crowd of girls, wanting his attention.
"See what I'm talking about?" Osamu stressed.
"Let's just leave him, he can find his own way out" he said, while trying to walk out.
I grabbed his collar and pulled him back.
"We need to go and get yer brother, so we can go home" I declared, walking towards the crowd.
Ugh...how annoying...I have the sudden urge to punch something...
I thought, hearing Osamu in the back going.
"She's going to die...I'm never going to see her again...My beloved Nee-san is going to be gone..." he grieved.
Unknown to me, the boys gathered around Osamu as they watched what was going to happen while comforting Osamu as he grieves, Suna took out his phone.
Such a drama queen....
"Oi Tsumu, let's go home" I called out.
"AH FINALLY, YER CAME BACK FOR ME~" Tsumu cheered.
Atsumu tried to walk over to me but found that he couldn't, due to the people that were in his way.
"Can yer move outta my way" Tsumu said, trying to be nice about it in his own way...
"Eh? But we just want a picture" some girl whined.
Ok..Calm down...they're all probably first years who haven't matured enough yet...
I thought, trying to be understanding and respectful.
But, this is my younger brother yer keeping from me...
A tick mark appeared on my head, a dark aura emitting from me as I failed to control my anger, not appreciating that Tsumu is around a bunch of strangers, trying to get his private information.
The fangirls then suddenly shivered and turned around and looked at me.
"M-M-Miya-senpai!!!"
"Haha...Hello, can yer get outta my Otouto's way so we can go home?" I asked, trying to be nice but ending up scaring them more.
"H-hai!! W-we're really sorry!!!" they shrieked before dispersing and running away, afraid to anger me further.
I sighed in annoyance.
"Let's go ho-"
"AHH THANK YER SO MUCH NEE-SAN, YER MY ANGEL" Atsumu yelled, engulfing my figure and continuing to tell me a hundred more things.
"Alright, alright, let's go home, you and Samu are probably starving" I breathed, patting Tsumu's back and letting go of him.
After locking up the gym, the team started to walk to the front gates.
"That was quite a show" Kita described, walking next to me.
We walked behind everyone else and started our own conversation.
"I think it's only going to get worse from here on out..." I sighed out.
"I can already feel the stress" I finished, rubbing my temples.
Kita quietly laughed as he continued to listen to me talk about my complaints.
"Yer know, you're amazing, Kita" I said suddenly.
"E-eh?" Kita stammered, flustered by the sudden compliment.
"I saw you play and I have yet to see you make a mistake" I explained, admiring him.
"Thanks, it's just the result of a routine I normally do, it's not that surprising" he said, indifferently.
"Well, it was fun to watch for me" I replied, looking at him.
"NEE-SAN, I'M HUNGRY~" Atsumu whined loudly from afar.
"Wow, I didn't even know we were this far away from the group" I realised.
"I'll see ya tomorrow, Kita" I waved.
"See ya, Miya" Kita waved back.
Unknown to Hana, Kita stayed back and smiled at her retreating figure, a soft look in his eyes.
"Tadaima, Obaa-san"
"Okaerinasai, what's with that smile, Shin-chan?"
"...It's nothing, don't worry too much about it"
"...its about Hana-chan isn't it? She'll make a great granddaughter in-law"
"O-Obaa-san!!"

The Court of Souls?
Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur) ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— What do we talk about tonight? ~“How about a story?”~ Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one. ~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons. Only power counted there and the weak were worse than cattle. A world where survival of the fittest ruled.”~ Was it strong then? ~“No, but the child had a power. One that made him stand between light and darkness. Nothing could escape him, so he was shunned by his people.”~ What did he do? Did he fight his fate? Did he hide his power? What was it? ~“Oh, he fought. He fought a lot. And no thing could escape his power. It was something that everyone had to live with.”~ So he became a hero and changed the world? ~“…”~ Tell me. ~“Nooo, that's not how the story goes. This isn't a story of a noble man, doing good amidst a sea of monsters. This is a story of a demon who was... kinder than the rest.”~ A kind demon? How boring. ~“I think it would be better if I tell the story, so you can judge for yourself.”~ So tell the story!

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer?
