(Media: Mei☝☝).
“Your highness please do not go out until I return, although you can speak the language of this country you are still a foreigner ” Ai said and left.
Mei was twelve years of age and couldn't be bothered with instructions, all she wanted to do was play in the forest. She waited until she was certain that Ai was gone, she knew that Bai would be sleeping so she snuck out through the back window.
They were hiding in Japan and they'd been there for a week and Mei was tired of being in the house.
When she got to the forest, Mei played the way a twelve year old would. She picked flowers from bushes and put them in her hair, she sang to birds and chased rabbits.
It was while chasing a rabbit that she ended up at a stream with a small bridge over it.
There was a young man standing on the bridge by himself staring at the water.
He was the most handsome young man she'd ever seen. She wondered how old he was and if he was a native.
She walked up to him and bowed respectfully since he was older than her. “Konichiwa!" She greeted cheerfully. He turned to look at her and smiled, but didn't answer, then he went back to staring at the water.
“Where are you from?" She asked.
The young man turned to look at the strange little boy that had come to talk to him and actually noticed his skin color, it was unlike any he'd ever seen before.
“I should be asking you that question you don't look like you belong here little boy ” he said.
“No I'm not from here my father is from qing and my mother is from a very distant land, now its your turn”

“Very well, I'm from Silla” he said.
Mei smiled, she had been to goryeo before and learnt the language, she had yet to go to baekjae and silla.
She decided that he would be more comfortable if they spoke his own language. “Silla, then perhaps you'd be more comfortable if we conversed in your native tongue yes?”
The young man raised an eyebrow in surprise.
“You can speak my language, how so?"
“I can speak several languages ”
“That means you're from a noble family so what are you doing here ”
“I could ask you the same question ” Mei said.
The young man chuckled, this little boy seemed to be rather witty.
“Your Majesty I've been sear-”
Mei stared at the man that suddenly seemed to appear out of nowhere, he had stopped mid sentence probably because he saw her but she heard clearly what the older man had said.
They both stared at each other and then at her.
“What you just heard must never be repeated to another, do you understand ” the young man said.
Mei nodded
The young man stared at her and she knew that they didn't trust her to keep to herself that she'd seen the faceless king of Silla.
“Your secret is safe with me” she said.
“How can we be so sure?” the older man asked.
Mei took a deep breath, the only way they'd trust her is if she revealed her secret.
She reached behind her head and released the small clip she used to hold her hair in and her hair fell to the middle of her back.
Then she reached within her clothes and brought out a golden bracelet
“This bracelet is given to-”
“The royal children of qing, your highness ” the older man interrupted Mei and knelt before her.

The young man stared at her in shock, the he was actually a she and she was royalty too.
“Pa oh, leave me and the princess alone for a while ” he said.
Pa oh bowed and left.
“So, princess if I may ask what are you doing so far from home and why the disguise, what is your story”
“Well it is as I said, my father is from qing, the emperor to be precise and my mother is from a land of people with dark skin. Mother died at birth and father says my life has always been in danger even in the womb.
I've been on the move my whole life and father says this disguise will help with my safety, he says I can be free when I get married then I can finally wear dresses and beautiful accessories ” Mei said and smiled sadly.
“I understand, I've been on the move too but it will be over soon I will go home and claim what is mine” the young king said.
Mei smiled at him, for once she found someone who understood what she felt.
“Your majesty, what is your name? ” she asked him.
The king stared at her and smiled.
“My name?”
Mei nodded.
“Well I was born Sam mek jeong but my name as king of Silla is jinheung, and what is your name? ”
“My name is Mei”
“That is a beautiful name for a beautiful girl”
“Do you really think so your majesty? I think I would be prettier if my skin was like yours”
Jinheung stroked her head.
“No, you really are beautiful and your skin is magnificent, see how it glows in the sun” he said.
Mei felt her heart skip a beat, he was the first person to ever compliment her unique skin and she could tell that he was being sincere.
“I have to go your majesty but I'd like to see you again”
“Why?”
“Because, we're friends now” Mei said.
“Oh really, well if you say so. We can meet here tomorrow princess Mei”
