I didn't bother waking Khun up. He looked peaceful while sleeping that I melted inside slightly.
Surely he wouldn't mind me sneaking around and about like this right? It is my home after all.
I creaked open the door slowly, stepping out into the dark hallway. Usually most of the brightness comes from the light outside, but it's barely dawn so there's no light source except the ones from the torches hung beside the windows.
After walking out Khun's room, I didn't bother silencing my footsteps. There's no one around to hear them right? It's dead silent out here.
My heels clicked against the cobble floor, echoing through the large hallway ahead of me.
An iron door comes into view. I stopped, looking at it.
It wouldn't hurt to take a trip into the kitchen for a few seconds. No one's going to notice a missing piece of cake.

I didn't bother knocking before entering my dad's room. I mean, do I really have to? He's not an evil treat loving tyrant that has ever tried to kill me three times.
The room was of course dark. All of the curtains wad shut close.
"Yo dad." I shook him by the shoulders. The man rolled away, covering himself in more blanket and into a burrito.
"Go away." He mumbled.
"I have cake."
"What flavor."
"Chocolate."
...
He sat up, stretching. "Good morning, My beautiful amazing daughter." My father greeted, a bright smile on his face. "What brings you here?"
I held back from making a gagging motion, handing him a plate of chocolate cake. "I've got something to tell you."
That's right. I do. I've been thinking about it all night. Am I going to have to live in secrecy with Khun forever? I don't think we'll be able to manage that. Especially me.
He hummed, still stuffing his mouth with chocolate.
I had to stop myself from bursting into laughter. Talking about something so serious - a life or death situation to a man who's wearing a pink bunny onesies and-
"Wait is that a Khun Edhans body pillow?" I pointed at the white and blue pillow beside him.
He quickly covered it a blanket. "He gave it it me." My father answered quickly.
"Uhuh..." I nodded my head skeptically. "Anyway- as I was saying, It's very important."
He motioned me to continue with his fork.

"So, you know how we're not supposed to date anyone from the Khun family..."
He hummed in agreement. "Relationship status has to be business only."
"Yeah like that's happening between you and Edahn.."
"What was that?"
"Nothing-" I rubbed my shoulders, looking away. "Yeah, so me and y'know. Khun Edhans kid who came with me. You know that guy?"
My father once again hummed, stabbing the poor half eaten cake harshly before shoving it to his mouth.
I opened my mouth to continue. It closed and opened multiple times. I gulped. It's really scary to admit this...
"Stop doing that. You look like a fish."
For the last time, I closed my mouth and opened it again.
And repeated the gesture ten or more times but more aggressively.
My father deadpanned, "why do you look like the ugliest fish ever."
"Dad!"
"Okay okay, I'll stop!"
I sighed, and then took another deep breath. "I'm-"
"You're dating Khun Edahn's son right?"
"Ha-?"
He scratched his head, placing the now empty plate beside him. "He came here a few hours ago. Dead at midnight."
My jaw dropped. I was lost for words.
Khun came here without me to confront my father about- us dating even though he knew that he could get brutally murdered???
"Brave kid, that Khun. I like him."
I stuttered, "yo-you- you're okay with this- us- me him-?"
My father sighed, "it's whatever I guess. He kinda scares me to be honest. That's why I'm letting this pass."
"You're kidding."
"Of course I am." My heart skipped a beat. "You don't actually think I'll be scared of a kid one hundred years younger than me-"
"That's not what I meant!" I quickly cut him off. "I mean- you- I- b/n-"
"Huh? Oh him. The girl he liked was a bitch." He spat, pouting. "Anyway, I do commend him for his bravery. Not to mention Edh won't stop talking about how smart he is..." My father whispered the last part.
Wow I feel light headed.
My father suddenly started wheezing, pointing a finger at me tauntingly. I really wanted to bite it off...
"Can't believe you went out of your way to look like a fish just to say that." He laughed.
I gritted my teeth. Begrudgingly, but happy that Khun and I no longer had to hide our status from my father, I walked out the room. I slammed the door shut behind me, still able to hear the wheezing and snorting from the other side.

The masquerade ball is today... I had to help prepare it but I wasn't allowed to attend it.
What a spooker fucker.
I huffed, leaning against the desk. Everyone was enjoying the party...
The good thing is that Khun wasn't going either.
Speaking of Khun...
"Hey, A.A." I called.
He turned towards me, a brow lifted.
"Let's sneak out." I started giggling mischievously. "I wanna go somewhere."
He went silent for a moment. Finally opening his mouth, he answered. "Sure. Let's go."
The place was located north from the castle. The forest side inhabited by no one - probably.
"Where are we going?" Khun asked, brushing a leaf away from his face.
I lead the way, marching excitedly.
"Somewhere special~ patience, Khun."
He grumbled under his breath but complied.
After a while of walking and hiking, we finally reached a clearing.
A sparkly pond that was naturally built stands in front of us. A frog leaps up from the mossy stone and into the water. Fireflies moved away as we walked closer, making a path for us.
"Isn't this the place where you went on that date with that captain guy?" Khun pouted his lips cutely. I giggled, "It wasn't a date."
I sat down by one of the logs, looking at the pond. I felt Khun approach me from behind, shoving his hands into his pockets. He didn't make a move to sit down next to me, but I guessed he was also staring at the view.
Though at the time I didn't know the view was me.
I leaned my head against my palm, my posture bent, looking at the fish that had jumped above the water and back.
"Why did you go to my father alone?" I asked.
The question had been nagging me. Why? He could've asked me to come with him. Surely it was scary, even for Khun.
Khun merely chuckled, a hint of nervousness in it before talking again. "I couldn't do it with you around."
I huffed. What does he mean by that?
"I went to ask for his blessings."
I nearly chocked on my saliva, now sitting upright. I felt him shift behind me, the grass made a crunching noise.
I slowly turned my head around.
I leaped out of my seat, covering my mouth, trying my best to not cry.
Khun was on one knee, holding a box; A diamond ring planted inside of it.
"Are- are you sure?" I managed to mutter out.
"I've never been so sure in my life." Khun's eyes held a certain gentleness inside them as he said this. "Y/n, we've been through a lot together. I remember the first time we met back in the first floor. I remember being angry at you because you told Bam that you're from the Daeyang family. We went through thick and thin together, not knowing where the future will lead us. But now, let's make our own future. Together."
He stopped to catch his breath, his lips trembled. "Y/n, I know we're in the middle of a war, but that's why I want to do this now. So... Y/n Daeyang, will you be my wi-"
"Yes!" I jumped at him, circling my arms around his neck.
Khun kissed my lips passionately, sliding the ring into my finger.

I walked back, hand in hand with Khun.
Bam who had been talking to Hockney and Elaine turned towards us.
"Welcome back you two." He greeted. The brunette turned towards khun, a meaningful look in his eyes.
"She said yes." Khun looked more happier than he had ever been.
Bam swooped in, hugging me and Khun tightly. "Congratulations!!!"
I see Elaine grumbling and pouting behind him, but she then turned towards me; a soft and gentle smile dancing in her lips.
Hockney immediately went into his paper, sketching as fast as he can. "Congratulations y/n, Khun." He had managed to say before digging his nose into the sketch.
"Thank you you three!" I hugged them all together, a tear sliding down my cheek.
♪───in another room───♪
"They're growing up so fast!" F/n sobbed into Khun Edhans sleeves. the blue haired man sweatdropped, patting his friends back. "Yes. They are."
"My daughter is getting married to your son! That makes us-"
"A family, yes." The blue haired man sighed.
He secretly held back his own tears.
