I take the platter of cheese and crackers out to the sitting room, placing them on the coffee table. Hunter thanks me prompting Peni to glare at me. I dismiss myself from the room, catching Peni’s brother’s eyes. I make sure that nobody else is watching before giving him a discreet wink. He smirks and takes a sip of his drink. I make it back to the kitchen and grab the rags that I have neglected. I really don’t want to clean up that mess upstairs, but I have no choice. I’ve put it off for two hours now and it’s probably all dry and crusty by now. Maybe. I walk up the backstairs to the second floor before using the passage ways to get to Hunter’s office. Surprisingly, the mess isn’t dry or crusty. It’s still as fresh as it was earlier. They probably came up here for a quickie when I was doing laundry downstairs. I move some papers out of the way before spraying the desk with cleaner. I let it set for a couple seconds before wiping everything up, tossing the rags into the bucket I brought up earlier. Once everything is back in it’s designated place, I take the bucket to the bathroom. I wipe down the counter and the knobs on the cabinets before heating up the shower water. The whole room smells like Hunter when I start washing down the walls with the scalding hot water, activating any soap residue. The toilet is the last thing I clean. For a guy, Hunter keeps his toilet clean. As far as I can tell, he never misses. It’s either that or he cleans the toilet himself, which is highly unlikely.

“Hey, Skye!”

I jump, startled.

“What are you doing up here, Andy?”

She leans against the door frame.

“Nothing much. Just got done caring for the plants and I wanted to come see you to discuss my plan of attack. How do I get Daniel to notice me?”

“Who’s Daniel?”

“Peni’s brother.”

I stand up from my position at the toilet, tossing the rag into the bucket.

“I can grab his attention for you and lure him somewhere if you would like.”

She thinks about it for a second before she smiles.

“Sounds good to me!”

“Follow me.”
