《Destiny That Binds Us》41: I knew you were trouble

Hey readers, hope you're all doing well! Well I am someone who writes when I am free as a hobby and recently there haven't been days and time where I could write in ease. So there haven't been updates for days or months maybe. Few days back, I got some extra holidays, all credits to the cyclone alert for my city and I finally grabbed some time to write.

"Sir this one is from the latest collection, have a look at this" The shopkeeper kept dumping dull and plain trench coats on the table.
"Do you have any imported goods? Like trench coats from Switzerland or maybe London?" The shopkeeper stood straight glaring at me, transferring his hands from the table to his hips for the question I just asked.
"Fine, I'll buy that camel brown coloured coat" I pointed as he immediately changed his judgemental face and shook his head in excitement to pack.
"Sir, if you buy another trench coat, we will give you 20% off" The shopkeeper started throwing offers.
"I'm fine without discounts, so if you want to keep talking, I can find another shop" I narrowed my gaze as he withdrew his eyes from mind and packed the coat in a jiffy.
Everyone was busy with their own world back there, so I had decided to venture out to the nearby market for a few hours, which was a few kilometers away from where we had to stay.
And out of humanity, I purchased a trench coat for Suhana as well and decided to return back to the camping site when I could feel eyes on me from behind.
I stopped on my trails and turned back ,"Not bad Vikram, you've got eyes behind your head as well huh?" The inhumane pig started snorting.
I stood there staring at him, controlling myself to remain calm. This guy standing here doesn't take more than 2 seconds to get on my nerves.
"What are you doing here? To buy cow dung?" I asked with a straight face pointing to the cow dung shops nearby, which had cow dung displayed on small tables.
"Huh you wish, Vikram! I am here to talk with you"
"What is it?"
"Everyone including you know that you are no longer engaged or related to suhana in any way right? Considering even her sister's marriage is now cancelled "
I breathed out, annoyed with the fact that this guy literally doesn't have anything else to talk about.
"Yeah so what?"

"And then why the hell are you hanging out with Suhana in a freaking medical camp?" He paused and stressed every single word.
"Oh...that's because I am planning become her assistant inside the operation theater, why any problem?"
"Vikram, your jokes are no longer funny!" He grit his teeth.
"Yeah of course I can't make good jokes because I ain't a joker like you" I stated bluntly.
"Listen Vikram, let me get straight to the point, stay away from Suhana and..."
"And why exactly do you think I am going to do this Vivaan?" I narrowed my gaze.
I knew he was trouble right from day one.
"..because we are meant to be right from the start and she deserves to be with me, as my wife!"
"And you think Suhana is going to rush over to you and accept your obsession with her?"
"Obsession? Nonsense, it was never an obsession in the first place. Otherwise why would even Suhana go on her knees and confess her feelings for me in front of thousands of people in an airport, not wanting me to leave this city and her behind. She is just upset about the fact I rejected her and left her behind. I am her first love and do you think that her first love would have just vanished from her heart."
"Nice joke, now you can return back to the city and look after your company before I make sure your company goes completely underground by just making one phone call"
"You can keep bluffing about your power all you want Vikram, but you can never separate Suhana from me, and yeah, I am not leaving this place without Suhana. When we leave this place, she will be mine and you can rely on my words because I am going to make sure it turns out exactly the way I want it to be" And with every word he spat, I knew how serious he was about it.
"If I find you anywhere near where we are staying, I promise I will make sure you visit hell everyday despite being alive " I grit my teeth as I clench my wrist.
The rest of the evening I couldn't erase the dirt from the nasty pig, which I had stumbled upon in the market. I had also contacted Vinay and had him collect some details regarding Vivaan, just in case if the joker guy comes up with a joker plan.
And by the time I returned back to the camping site, it was almost early morning. And Suhana was having all her own adventures in the forest with her half asleep eyes.

I laid my hands down still, when she had rushed over to me and hugged me.
I knew I was going to cause some trouble if I was going to be late and yet I didn't want to return to the camp early and knowing it was my fault, I was is no position to stop her from what she was doing.

Rohit stood there staring and judging me with an endless expression on his face.
"Stop being dramatic, I just asked you if we can exchange our tents! It's not a big deal" I moved my eyes away from him.
"Do I look like a clown? One day you want a separate tent for yourself and another day you ask me to change your tent! Sleep in your tent or sleep on the ground" Rohit clenched his puny fingers and walked away.
"It wasn't a big deal, why did he get worked up?" I mumbled to myself as I moved back to my tent as I stole glances from the tent opposite to Suhana's.
One jerk lurking in the town, another one living amidst us. Wonderful.
As the sun approached down, I closed the book I was reading near the riverside and headed towards the camp and from a distance I could figure out that the medical camp was getting dispersed.
"Hello brother" I turned to the right and saw Rohit approaching me with a smile plastered against his face.
"What?"
"Are you hungry? Do you want some juice? Or hot tea or coffee?"
"What do you want from me?" I glared at him.
"Hmm....actually I...." Rohit hesitated.
"Okay it's a 'NO'" I answered and turned away.
"But you didn't even hear me out" Rohit stopped me from leaving.
"No matter what it is, It's a NO from me" I raised both my eyebrows.
It's no good stuff, considering the fact that he is hesitating to even tell me about it.
"What? No--wait, Suhana is also coming, let me ask her as well" I turned to my left and saw her waving a huge 'hi', as her hand moved from the ground and touched the sky and then again touched the otherside of the ground.
What is she so excited about?
Rohit indicated with gestures to join us as she ran towards like a kangaroo.
"Suhanaa" Rohit whined as she joined us.
"What's wrong?" Suhana giggled watching his despicable face which was unbearable to me.
"Vikram you also listen....The thing is...tomorrow is Megha's birthday..... I thought I should do something good for her and make her happy so..." Rohit stopped hesitatingly.
"...so you are planning to leave this place and finally allow her to have some peace in her life?" I completed as both of them glared at me.
"What is it Rohit?" Suhana patted his shoulders.
"I am planning to beg her on my knees tonight and finally coax her to forgive me, so...Suhana , " He blurted the last sentence within 0.01 seconds.
"No" I said bluntly, as Suhana interrupted.
"Yeah sure, not a problem at all!! All the best Rohit! If she doesn't accept your apology then you better start crying okay? She has a soft spot for your crybaby face." Suhana started hyping him up with some confidence.
"I said 'NO'" I repeated again as they both now slowly turned towards me, confused.
"Why?" Rohit asked with his usual trick, gleaming puppy eyes.
"You expect me to let you stay with Megha? That too for one whole night? I think it's dangerous " I glared at him.
"Yeah, that's right " Suhana agreed immediately, "What if Megha stabs him or kicks him at the wrong place or punches a hole through his face?" She continued her sentence as I stood dumbfounded.
Is she for real?
"It's okay, be safe okay!" They both hi fi-ed.
"Thank you Suhana!!" Rohit was almost on the verge of jumping while I was still standing in the same position, unmoved.
"So where will I stay tonight?" Suhana questioned.
"Yeah, You can stay in Harshad's tent and..."
"The What?" I almost choked, as Anika joined us.
"I meant that I can ask him to stay with Vikram for tonight so that Suhana can stay in his tent" Rohit completed his sentence.
"No, I can't stay with him" I denied in a second.
"Then maybe Suhana can stay with me and Zaara!"
"What! No eww, definitely not with Zaara! I'd rather stay with Vikram than stay with her" I stood there with disbelief, as everyone's gaze slowly moved facing me.
"Ohhh ** ** Then they will figure it out on their own, Rohit! Let's leave"
"No no, that's not what I meant....I meant it as a joke..." Suhana started refusing while Anika and Rohit started moving back leaving us alone amidst awkward gazes and confusion.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

Chronicles of Rathia - The Era of Blood
Welcome to the Chronicles of Rathia. Contained within is a trilogy of stories which are all set in different time periods and with different characters. Each story has its own era from The Era of Blood, The Era of Magic and The Era of Demons. Read along the first in the series which is The Era of Blood where magic is still in an infant stage and where swords can dominate the battle field. In The Era of Blood, you follow along the first main character who had his memories wiped clean except for the most basic things in life. It is up to him to find out how to get his memories back and why they are gone. (If you don't like the story layout or characters, I suggest either just reading through or wait till the next one in the series is being released. With how it's set up, you can enjoy any of the three in the trilogy but of course reading in order will help give a better understanding of the world.) (Side authors note - I'm currently reworking the first several chapters as they are lacklustre to myself since they were originally a draft and not concrete at first. This note will stay here until all the chapters I wanted to fix up are done.)
