call for her and rushed towards the room only to be devastated. Once again, he laid there in his own blood fighting his life.
"Doctor, we need to operate on him". Her colleague said
She was quick in action because this time she wasn't just saying a mother's son she was saving her own husband.
After hours on surgery, each passing minute causing her heart to stop a little she was able to save his life. But, he was in a coma. She walked outside informing his family about him who was just as broken as her.
She checked on Anabia after her successful surgery and now she had to send her son to his surgery on her own. She wanted that support from her husband but now she was on her own trying to handle three lives.
Month, that's how long he was asleep for. He hadn't shown any signs of waking anytime soon. Her two children were gaining their health back eventually and her ex-husband was jailed for life. His parents were merciful once they found the culprit neither was she.
He had tried to take her husband away from her. She realised after he was gone to his sleep that he had become her habit. Slowly, he started coming inside her heart and her daily schedule. She would look for him as she would enter the children's ward each day.
She would miss him when he wasn't here like she was now. It was a late night and both her children were now sleeping while she was sitting on a small chair holding his hand in her crying.
"I found the ring you went to buy a month ago. It looks beautiful". She said looking at the ring shining in her hand, "I wish you would come back so we can live our lives happily. I miss you every day, Khizar. Do you know when I said the first time we met that I could see something you can't?. It wasn't just simple words, you were a fighter. That day you tired to take your life because you couldn't see things properly you were actually fighting after that. You collapsed more time a normal patient would have, you fought so hard that day. I knew, I had to save you, that you weren't that easy to break. Maybe, for a few seconds, life had just knocked you down hard but you weren't someone who would do that". She cried harder

"Please, Khizar, fight this battle too. If you can hear me now come back to us. Our children and your wife is waiting for you. I love you". She said softly
He was awake.
Just as her words started he heard each and every one of it but he just couldn't open his time. The irony was, the last time he could open his eyes he so badly wanted to close them and now, he wanted to open them to have one look at her beautiful face but he couldn't.
Maybe, this time he was paying for the sin he had committed by his own hands. He had gone against his lord orders to trust him instead he had chosen his own faith. But, he was merciful to grant him a chance and show him a different world.
He cried.
For the first time after everything, he cried silently begging for forgiveness and a chance to live. To rectify everything he had done wrong and to serve his lord by his heart. One chance, to have the love of his life not crying because of her suffering but happy with his family. One chance, to be a father to his children who were asking for him and his parents waiting for him.
Just one chance.
Some are lucky to have one while other are not. To take a life given by someone so powerful will have to face his wrath. To be able to have a chance to beg for his forgiveness is his many ways of showing his generosity.
Khizar had another chance.
He opened his eyes after crying for a long time. Until, he heard no sound and remained nothing but his silent tears. He felt her touch but not being able to provide her with his comfort killed him.
He adjusted his eyes thanking his lord turning to his wife sleeping beside him on a chair. He hated how he was causing her pain and vowed to not be her pain but happiness. He did what he had been wanting to do since he first saw her sitting on a chair.
He pulled her slowly and gently on the bed beside him. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her to his chest which caused his heart to skip a beat. Being able to look at her again and the fear of never being able to at the same time brought tears in his eyes. He kissed her forehead feeling tired yet scared of closing his eyes. She moved closer to him and then he closed his eyes.

The next morning, she felt relaxed as she was awake. She wasn't yet sure why but she felt comfortable. She moved only to feel the arms around her body. She opened her eyes looking at her husband and her eyes widen. She shakes him a little scared that she was dreaming. But, when he opened his eyes giving her a breathtaking smile she had her heart flutter.
Tears brimmed in her eyes, "You are awake".
"Yes, I am. Sorry! For taking too long". He said kissing her forehead
Then, he gained his health back and the hospital seems to be his home for the past three months. One month that was after his suicide attempt, that showed him a new world. The second month, that had him correct himself. The third month, to gain back everything he had lost.
These three months to find his true love and to have a compassionate partner for life.
For her, he was a blessing sent her way. He was the person she had missed the past few years while she was suffering. But, her suffering was answered by her lord by sending him to her and giving her children lives back to her.
"Abbu (father), see Bhai (brother) is teasing me". Anabia said pouting looking at her father
Khizar looked at his daughter smiling holding her in his arms then looking at Azaan, "Now, what did he do?".
"He said that the baby will be a girl and not a boy". Anabia said
Azaan walked in smiling, "It will be".
"Will you love a baby less because she is a girl, Abbu ki Jaan (father's life)?". Khizar asked Anabia
Anabia shakes her head vigorously then Khizar turned to Azaan, "Will you if it's a boy?".
"No, Abbu (father)". Azaan said looking at the floor
"Good!. You don't need to think about what the baby will be because he/she will be your new sibling. Allah decides what he wants not us. Ok?". Khizar said placing Anabia down
The kids nodded. Azaan forwards his hand for Anabia who hold it quickly as they walked away towards the garden.
"They are just like you". He heard his wife voice and he knows she was smirking
"Well, I am not sure if that's a good thing or bad". He said grinning as he turned around to see his world
"You always tease me about the baby gender too". She stated placing her hands on her hips
"Come on, I know it will be a girl. I want a girl, Meri Jaan (my life), please". He said whining
She shakes her head, "The main reason why I didn't tell you the gender of the baby".
He walked near her wrapping his arms around her pulling her closer as he narrowed his eyes at her, "I am still not happy that you ditch me from that appointment just to know the gender yourself and ban me from knowing".
She looked at him gleefully, "Isn't that fun?".
He rolled his eyes yet a smile on his lips, "No, I want to know".
"Well, too bad. You won't". She said softly moving to stand in the garden looking at her kids playing
She couldn't be thankful even after a few years of their marriage to be able to see these two kids growing. It doesn't make her sad that they were growing. Instead, it makes her happy each time a year passes and their birthday come. She feared they won't live and now they were here with her.
Her husband had been her strength through the time she would lose her faith. Somehow, his faith was stronger than her. He wanted her to enjoy her life with her children she loves the most and wanted to have a peaceful life with. After suggesting he had left it on her to decide and she decided what was best for her children and what she wanted.
His life, had been changed for better. For once, he was only working to please his family. He was focused on nothing but improving himself and being a good example forgetting his past. He was truly happy.
They were happy.
This was them.
