standing in a far distance reading something from her book looking beautiful in her simple dress with a smile on her face.
"So, you are telling me that five days back you came to know that Nabiha is going to be your wife?". His friend said
He blinked his eyes scolding himself for losing himself again, "No, that was what my mother told me and I made it clear that I will only marry the one I like".
"You like Nabiha". His friend stated rolling his eyes
"No, I don't. It's probably just an attraction. Maybe, I should speak to someone else and take my mind off her". He said frowning at his own words
"Yeah, good thinking. You can take your mind off her not your heart. Anyways, you are 100% sure you are not interested in her?". His friend asked
He nodded as his friend continued, "Great! Then I will ask my mother to send my proposal to her family".
His head turned quickly towards his friend narrowing his eyes, "What?".
His friend shrugged, "I mean she is our junior and I could tell she is mannered into a beautiful woman I would love to have as a wife. If I send my proposal and they accept it that will clear your way too. I mean I do like her a lot and not a coward to not say it".
He tried to divert his mind not by speaking to other girls as he told his friend just to have him leave him alone but by doing every other thing he possibly could.
Nothing helped.
He would always walk the same path she takes towards her class. He would always sit somewhere she would come. He would always be somewhere she was.
It drives him insane the more he denies the more he is pulled towards her and the more he tries the more he fails. No matter what.
"I told you Ammi (mother), there is no way I am doing what you ask of me". He said
"You don't understand things like I do. I don't want to do this but you are forcing me. You don't have anyone you like and you are denying for exactly what reason?". His mother said frustrated

"What are you not telling me?". He asked curiously
His mother avoided his eyes, "Nothing".
"Fine, then I will not do what you ask me to". He said shrugging walking away
"You are saying that you will come for the match this weekend?". His friend- Zeeshan said
He nodded confused, "Yes, why?".
"Bhai (brother), the match was cancelled a week ago and they sent messages to us about it. Everyone knows about it because there is a university trip this weekend. Where have you been lost?". Zeeshan asked
He frowned, "I don't remember. I was busy".
"Apparently. Wait! What is he doing there?". Zeeshan said
He turned around looking at Israr speaking to Nabiha who smiled softly at him to whatever nonsense he says to her. His fist clenched as he watched her speaking to him for more than needed. Then, he realised that he was being angry for no reason and absolutely no right.
"Are you angry at me?". Israr asked smiling to himself
"You look happy. Why would I be mad at you?". He asked
Israr shrugged looking at Zeeshan smirking then back at him, "I don't know you look angry. But, no worries. I have some good news".
"You are getting married?". Zeeshan said happily
Shehryar heart skipped a beat.
"No, unfortunately, that will happen soon though". Israr said smiling, "I spoke to her about liking her and she agrees to marry me. So, I will be sending a proposal in a month".
His heart stopped.
He didn't like how he was behaving neither that he had no idea why he was behaving this way. The days that went by he was far angrier then he was ever in his life. Watching her speak to any male would push his limits and the one thing that would stop him as he had no rights to say a thing.
"We have to go now". His mother said hurriedly
He didn't ask anything besides he just drives to the hospital his mother asked him to without a word. He had seen his mother once devastated like this before and to watch her so scared again was causing him to be anxious but he maintained himself to handle her.

"Beta (daughter)". He saw his mother calling a young woman
His heart stopped as he watched Nabiha turning around to his mother voice. Looking at her red eyes and painful face his heart almost broke into pieces.
But, he had no idea what could actually be more painful. Nabiha lost her one and only family member to cancer she had no idea about. Watching the girl smiling turning into a shell was the most heartbreaking moment he had witnessed in his life.
People apologies were no what she needed it was just the comfort she craves.
He watched silently on the side each of her piece being broken and no one to collect them. Days and nights he suffered along with her through sleepless nights wondering how she must be feeling.
"This is what you meant by your words?". He asked sitting on the couch where his mother was sitting
His mother sighs, "It's never simple, beta (son), sometimes elder sees something more than you. Her mother found about her cancer when she was 9 and that was when your grandmother assured her that even after she is gone her daughter will be taken care of. Her mother fought for 10 years against cancer but it took her life in the end. She wished to see her daughter happy and somewhere safe but she wasn't able to".
His heartbreaks.
Five days before a month was over was when they were married in a sacred bond that they don't understand.
"Why did you marry me?". Was her first question to him to which he had no answer
They remained almost stranger in the same house. His mother thankfully didn't push either of them and them being young was also something they were confused about in their relationship.
"We have another trip now?". He said frustrated, "Do we have to go?".
Zeeshan nodded his head and then stopped when they saw Israr coming. He didn't speak and walked away. This time the trip was with their junior just what he would have asked for. More time with his wife.
His eyes widen as he realised what he just said. Then, his eyes turned to where she was looking at something lost in her thoughts.
He sighs.
He would have given the world to know what she was thinking or if he could comfort her in any way possible.
She was lost.
That is what she likes to call whatever she was in. Her mother was the only one she had in this world and now she was far away from her. She had no idea about the marriage that was fixed by her mother in her early age she only did it so her mother may be in more peace.
"You are pretty like everyone said". Someone said startling her from her thoughts
She frowns looking at her senior, "I am sorry but I don't want to speak to you".
She moved to the side but he blocked her way.
"What's the hurry?. I was just trying to speak because you look lonely". He said smirking
Her heart stopped, "I-I am not. Just leave".
"What if I don't?". He said taking a step further
"Then I will make you". Shehryar said angrily standing in front of her pulling her behind him in a protective hold
Her heart flutter after a long time.
"We need to talk". Israr said shortly
He nodded looking at his friend after so many days, "I know you are-".
"No, I don't want to hear it. I was never interested in her all I did was for you to realise she was a gem before your stupidity end you with nothing". Israr said smiling
"You were lying?. Why?". He asked confused
Israr sighs, "I know you are stubborn and you don't like people making decisions for you. You always defy them but you have crossed the limits of how much you should be defying".
He frowns knowing it was the truth as Israr continued touching a wound on his face and he winches, "You fought for her, your wife, Shehryar. You are in denial and you will ruin everything if you don't realise that. You are not a man who pities anyone who lost their parents. Then why did you marry her?".
He brushes his hair frustrated when he remembers her words.
Why did you marry me?.

(Most of the time)Kataang, as always.Suggestions are always welcome because I need ideas and I have school.-Why does this remind me of those gacha life avatar videos on Youtube hsihidfvjfbvireuhfnibrahahjajakdnfjnkIt's also pretty funny, because now I see a bunch of similar fics pop up on here - and it's sort of cool to think I created a trend, not to sound too full of myself. All stuff included in here belong to their rightful owners, and I will always try to credit.
