"?". He asked
"Bilal". She said shocked
"Oh, you met him". Samia said, "You remember him?".
Unfortunately.
"He is my brother, remember?". Samia said and she nodded merely taking her eyes off him as Samia speaks again, "You remember her, Caria?".
Bilal frowns for a moment because she looks familiar but not because they are cousins.
"Yeah". He said shortly
"I will leave". Caria said taking steps towards the stairs
Bilal looks at her retrieving, "What is she doing here?".
"I called her, Bhai (brother) for the wedding". Samia said softly
"I heard the exchange you think your wedding will be peaceful if this goes on?". He asked concerned
"I think it's about time this happens". She said walking away
Bilal sighs.
She enters inside to find her Khala talking bad about her own daughter to everyone.
"Arey, you are here. Come eat". His mother- Noor said softly
He smiles softly sitting to eat still listening to her mother ranting.
"She has no manners. How dare she talks to me like that?". Her mother said angrily
"Look, your daughter problem is not our problem let my son eat in peace". Mumtaz said angrily looking at her only son- Rizwan
That shuts her mother who walks away angrily.
Bilal sighs.
He retrieves back to his room which is the master bedroom but before he could he finds the small light coming from the servant room.
He frowns walking towards the light to find the door open and she sits there with a paper in her hand drawing.
Just like before.
Her eyes hold fire as she scribbles on the paper. Her hair let loose moving around with her small gestures and her hands moving too fast on the paper.
She isn't her.
She is not her.
She can't be his Caria.
Her eyes met his and the fire they held almost burnt him then and there until he felt a strong tugged at his hand pulling him away. Her eyes went to his sister who drags him away towards his master bedroom closing the door as she holds tears in her eyes.
"Don't Bhai (brother). After everything don't expect her to be our Caria. She is not. She is not our Caria anymore". His sister break down he immediately hugs her, "We broke her. We broke her, Bhai (brother). We did so much to her".
"No, Samia-". He started
Samia shakes her head, "We did. All of us played our role in what she is today. We did this".
He didn't say more.
Caria on the other side looks at her sketch she made.
Sketching.
It had always been her best friend.
She holds her phone in her hand calling the number, "Baba (uncle), can you pick me early in the morning?".
******
She sits on the big stone in front of the sea throwing small rocks in it.
"You didn't buy a new taxi". She commented after he picked her in his old taxi
He chuckles, "I gave that money to a orphanage".
"Why?". She asked
"Because I have done sins that I am paying for those young souls didn't. They don't deserve that kind of life". He said smiling, "I did find something".
She looks at him looking far at the sunrise, "What?".

"Peace and happiness". He replied as she finds his face free of pain
"How can you possibly find peace?". She asked confused
"By giving to his people". He answered, "He said he tests you best with wealth and he had given that to me to see if I would once again give in it's temptation or will do better this time".
"You did better". She commented understanding, "How did the peace felt?".
"It's calming. It's like the storm in my heart settle down for a while and the pain subsides that's always chocking me". He replied smiling warmly at her
"I never felt that". She said honestly, "I am not even sure why am in this place where it hurts the most".
"Everything has a reason. All will be disclosed when the time is right". He said softly, "Patience is the key".
"It's been years". She said impatiently
"Years of running away from it. The time was stilled all while. The time actually starts now". He said, "Now when the time has started once again you will find everything happening as it should have".
"They treat me like a person now". She said chuckling darkly
"They want something". They both said at the same time
She nodded, "I can't seem to know what exactly but I have a feeling with the amount of patience they have it won't be long before I know".
"What would you do when you know?". He asked
******
"No". She said stern, "Don't even for a second think that I will even think about it".
She was right.
She did find out what they wanted.
Her nationality.
It was very simple actually and she feels dumb that she didn't realise. They didn't out straight said it but when she entered they made her sit, offers food (she rejected, she ate with uncle) and say sweet words before saying it.
Her Mumtaz Khala wants her son (Rizwan) to be married to her because he is her best match.
Like ever.
She knows her worth.
"Where have you been all morning?. What were you doing outside?". Her mother screamed
"I always seem to correct your questions". She said standing in front of her smirking, "Who was I with?. Isn't that what you want to know?".
Her mother didn't speak making her right.
"What right do you have to ask that?". She asked bending to her level, "Don't make me say things I don't want to say".
"You cannot speak to me like that". Her mother ordered
She sighs walking past her towards the stairs to find the siblings (Bilal and Samia) looking at her. Before she can take steps she heard her mother speak.
"I am your mother". Her mother yelled angrily
She turns around furiously, "How do you define a mother?".
"What?". Her mother asked
"I said how do you define a mother?. Someone who never protect you?. Someone who pushed you away?. Someone who treated you like a mistake?. Someone who never cared?. Someone who said she wasn't worthy to be alive?. Someone who tried to poison her child?. Exactly who is a mother for you?". She yelled angrily glaring at her mother, "You are not a mother. You are just a woman who fulfilled her own desire one way or another".
With that, she turns around looking at Samia crying and she can hear her Nani crying too.
"I never knew you were the one who tried to poison her". Her Nani said
She stops turning to her Nani, "Aren't you the one who suggested it?. You and her (Mumtaz) suggested it".

"I-I never meant for her to actually-". Her Nani cried
"Then you shouldn't have said it". She said angrily walking pass the siblings upstairs
She enters inside the storage room curling herself in a small ball trying to keep the hurt away from her.
She cannot.
She feels too much.
She takes her bag holding her phone before walking back downstairs hearing crying and yelling but she paid no mind to it walking outside of the villa.
"Caria". She heard his voice that makes her stop
She waits until he walks to stand in front of her.
"I can take you away". He said softly
She shakes her head, "No".
"Come on, just let me for old time sake?". He said even softer like she a fragile being that might break
Maybe she was.
Just breaking slowly.
She nodded walking back inside and entering inside her car.
"Where to?". He asked
"The mobile shop". She said calling
He didn't asks questions taking her to the place. The ride remains silent.
But the silence speaks.
For those who hear.
He hears.
Loud and clear.
Her heartbreaking.
She enters the shop after receiving many eyes from people around her.
Well, she isn't in the best society clothes.
He looks at the men who had been gawking at her for a while making his fist clench. He feels the anger gathering in his chest wanting to be out.
He never felt that.
He had never had felt that emotion this strong.
He turns to the woman who is looking at the phone like it's her lifeline. So immense in it that nothing matters to her at the moment.
He walks closer to her standing beside her in a protective manner glaring at the men so hard that if the looks could kill they be dead now making them run.
"I will buy this". She said handing the shopkeeper the phone to pack
She holds her credit card ready to pay when he forwards his making her glare at him.
"I can pay for myself". She said
"I never said you couldn't". He said walking out of the shop knowing she is following
"Then I should be paying". She said angrily
"You can buy me dinner later". He suggested sitting inside the car
"No, I will pay you the cash". She said dialling Baba (uncle) number asking him to come to the same beach
He didn't ask who it was.
"No, if it's cash I will keep returning it". He said
"Fine". She said huffing, "Take me to the beach".
"Yes, Ma'am". He said grinning
*****
She sits on the rock again with Baba beside her.
"This is for you". She said handing him the phone
He shakes his head, "What will I do with it?. I don't even have that much life left to learn it functions".
"Baba, please". She said not liking his word
"Don't bring me these worldly things to test me. I know you are my biggest test but just give me your company if you want to really give me something". He said softly
She sighs.
"She gave me poison". She said looking at the water in front of her, "I didn't die though as she wanted".
"How old were you?". He asked
"9". She said shortly
He shakes his head disappointed, "People do forget children are blessings".
"Not girls". She commented
"If I have learned something daughters are the true blessing, not the son". He said looking at the sea, "My daughter was my blessing".
"You have a daughter?". She asked excitedly
"Yes, one". He said sadly, "Treated her the same as her mother".
She nodded.
"Then?". She asked
"She was the only one who fought her brother for me. She couldn't keep me with her in her home but she sold her jewellery to buy me a taxi so I can earn for myself". He said smiling
"That's why". She said realising looking back at his old broken taxi
He nodded, "That's why I don't sell it. As long as I live I will always have it. If I die sell it to someone and give the money to someone in need".
She nodded.
"How can she not be ashamed of what she did?. How can she still look in my eyes?". She asked desperately
"Because she never felt she did wrong. People kill their conscience and they become monster in human form". He said softly
They remain silent for a long time.
"Who is that man?". He asked again making her turn to where he was looking
He finds Bilal leaning on his car.
"I told him to leave". She said frowning
"He wouldn't leave". He said deeply, "He will never leave".
"He left". She said clenching her hand
"By force not by choice". He said patting her head signalling Bilal
Bilal walks over to them.
"What's your name, beta (son)?". Baba asked
"Bilal". He said smiling
"The one who quenches thirst". Baba said nodding wisely
"What?". Bilal asked confused
"I am leaving". She said walking down
Bilal watches her leaving taking his leave from Baba he left. Baba looks at him running towards her.
"He is the one. He is her peace". Baba said smiling at his lord plans
The best plans.
******
"What is so wrong in my son?. He is well educated and I have made him learn the best manner. He is the one who can help your future". Mumtaz said
"Or be the one who I feed all my future". She replied looking through the Henna
Today is the first function out of three. But the function are spread in a whole week. After Henna there are two days gap then it's marriage then on weekend is reception.
Today is Henna.
She ignores her Mami walking towards the stairs when the leech itself appears.
Her Mumtaz's Mami precious son- Rizwan.
"Hi, beautiful". He said flirtatiously
Gross.
"You have actually grown into a woman I would like". He commented
"I didn't grow up to satisfy you". She replied irritated
"But, baby, you satisfy me more than anyone else. No one deserves me here just like no else deserve you. Can't we be together?". His voice was trying to seduce her which creeps her
She was about to reply when her eyes found a murderous one.
Bilal's eyes.
They were brown but they change as his emotions. They were darkened so much so that she cannot even find anything.
Just pure fury.
It burns him. Bilal feels his body heating uncontrollably as he loses his patience and mind.
"Rizwan". He called angrily taking stride when his sister blocks his path, "Move away, Samia".
"Bhai (brother), Chalo (come)". His sister said dragging him
He didn't miss the disappointment in her eyes before he was pushed in Samia's room.
"Bhai (brother)". Samia said calmly but his anger didn't faze, "Marry her".
