《Twice Bitten ✔》Chapter 48

Mmm. Why is there music playing? I snuggle deeper into Kai's arm.....
I reached for my phone and turned off Sickicks song Mind Games. Why was the alarm even on? My eyes instantly shot open. Shit, we have school.
"Wake up, loser!"
"Stop abusing me so early in the morning." Kai groaned
"I haven't even hit you, yet!"
"You verbally abused me! And what the hell do you mean 'yet'!Uggh, let's just skip school," Kai said, rolling onto his back.
"Hmmm, that doesn't sound too bad right now."
"Of course, it was my idea, wasn't it?"
I snatched his pillow from up under him.
"Damn, Vanessa. I was comfortable!" Kai whined
"Let's go see why my parents didn't wake us up."
Kai being the loser he was, rolled out of bed and onto the floor with a thud.
"Fuck!"
I giggled and helped him get up.
"Couldn't you have gotten out of bed like a normal person?"
"Pssh. Fuck being normal. Not that we were very normal, to begin with."
I scoffed, "I'll have you know I am very normal."
"Sweetie, you're a witch. You can only be so normal."
"Whatever." I stuck my tongue out childishly.
When we walked downstairs, we were met by my parents and who I guessed to be Kai's parents.
"She's so pretty!" Kai's mom squealed as she bounded over to me and grasped my hand tightly.
"I'm so glad Kai met you. I was afraid my baby wasn't going to make any friends!"
"Mom." Kai groaned
Kai's dad chuckled "Well, anyway, it's always nice to meet another witch family. Its been a while."
Kai's mom and dad had the same mocha skin and dark hair as him. Kai got his amber-colored eyes from his mother, while his dad had more of a hazel color. They were fairly young, like my parents. I was hoping both families would become closer after this. Everybody was now comfortably situated in the living room.

"So does this mean we don't have to go to school today?" Kai asked
My mom chuckled, "No, you don't have to go to school today."
"Yes!" Kai and I chanted
Kai and I ran up to my bed and flopped on it. We both took a while to get comfortable, and all you could hear was the rustle of sheets.
"Awe man! I'm not sleepy anymore!" Kai whined.
"Shhh," I mumbled snuggling deeper into my pillow.
I started running my hands through his hair and we both become victims of sleep. It was eleven fifteen when we actually woke up. I left Kai in bed watching cartoons, while I went to go fix lunch.
I walked into the kitchen and spotted a note hanging from an old hello kitty magnet. I didn't even know we still had that thing. Apparently, they went out to have some fun. I found it highly unfair that we weren't brought along. I guess most teens wouldn't want to hang out with their parents, but ours were actually pretty cool. I huffed. We'll have to have our own fun.
Eh, I wonder what I should make. After rummaging through our fridge, I decided on making a bacon grilled cheese sandwich. Once I had the sandwiches in the pan, I got out some ginger ale and poured us both a glass. I heard the pan sizzling and flipped the sandwiches. I finally felt satisfied with the sandwiches and placed them on the plates before calling Kai down.
"Kai, lunch is ready!"
Kai bounded down a few stairs before he decided he was too lazy for that and slid down the banister.
"My moms gonna be pissed if you break our railing!"
"Are you calling me fat?!"
"Yes!"

"Rude . I'm too hungry to think of a comeback."
I giggled.
"Ooh, grilled cheese!" Kai exclaimed taking a seat.
"With bacon," I added
"Even better!" Kai said taking a bite
I laughed when Kai moaned
"You know I love you, right" Kai mumbled over his sandwich.
I sipped my ginger ale and nodded my head.
"I'm too awesome not to love." I teased.
"So not only are you a rude but you're cocky too!" Kai shook his head
"Yeah, but you love me," I said sitting on his lap
"Fair enough. Wanna go to the mall?"
"Sure."
The car ride consisted of extremely loud singing and silly laughter. Kai and I walked into the mall singing everything I wanted by Billie Eilish. I was obsessed with her and currently had her on repeat.
