《Tippy's Notebook》Wattpad Goals for 2020, recap
Advertisement
Another year has come and gone which means its time for me to look back at the goals I set at the start of the last one and see if I achieved them.
I already know I missed hard this year lol, but let's see.
-----------
1 - Delicate
I mean.... I don't think any of us knew how deep Delicate would be, like I did not expect the plot to have followed the path it has, especially with Will's arc.
I started Delicate in 2019 which is crazy that it's been more than a year, but I mean I get why it isn't completed yet.
For one, as stated above, the plot and the characters themselves are very complex and I've been giving a lot of attention to them, in little details and shifts that take time to unfold properly. I love writing Delicate but for it to finish nicely, I have to continue awarding Damon and Will's story the same attention I did when I started it.
Secondly, the chapters have just gotten so long haha. Like it was 3000-6000 words, last update I touched 10,000! That shit is just crazy so it takes a lot out of me when I do a single chapter cause its like 3 are in there.
And lastly, with my university work and my Patreon account, its no longer as easy to update as frequently. I update as often as I can, but that still leaves books waiting weeks to a month without an update. But if you look at all I update as a whole, I do update rather frequently.
But anyway, sadly, I wasn't able to finish the book this year. Though I'm happy I didn't since Delicate has been my favourite book to date to write.
2 - Master
Advertisement
I severely overestimated my ability to write a simple, sweet book. When I started with Master, I wanted it to be a book full of fluff, smut and love, nothing complicated.
That has not happened.
Master is still all of those things I think, but I couldn't help myself from developing a plot and delving a little deeper into Kalem and Lincoln too. Aghh, I didn't mean to but again, I'm happy that I did.
I LOVE MASTER.
I love the characters, I love their friendships and relationships, I love their story and I just love how light and enjoyable it is. I really do enjoy the book and I can't wait to see where it's going.
3 - Control - Hagen's book
Well, this didn't happen.
I feel like everything I've said above about the time I have for writing and the turn the two books I'm currently writing took, explains why this goal wasn't achieved.
I know a lot of you were super excited for this so I'm really sorry I couldn't start it last year, but when the book does come out, I promise to give it the same love and care I do with all my books!
4 - Peter's, Aias' or Wequie's Book (only 1, not all or 2, just one)
Yeah, same reasons as above. I don't think I need to repeat again.
5 - Do more
Finally!!!! A goal I have achieved ughhh
Lol. I looked back and I did do a few of these updates this year which were challenging at times but it always makes me so happy to see you guys going crazy in the comments.
So yay!
6 - Make every reader . Silent cry, heavy cry, shaking cry, breakdown cry; all the cries.
I know they're a few of you psychopaths who read my books and don't shed a single tear - I'm still working on getting you. But I know for a fact that I did get some of you last year and that my other humans were breaking down throughout the year.

ESPECIALLY with the start of Delicate, that shit was brutal, even for me.
But I'm happy I was able to get those emotions out of you, Delicate has been a whirlwind of emotions but I like to think that it has all, and will all, be worth it in the end.
------------------
So that's a recap of all the goals I set out last year. 2 out of 6 is not good but I tried my best.
My goals for 2021 will be more precise I think, with strategies attached so that I can better achieve them.
Check them out if you're interested.
Love you all and Happy New Year,
Tippy

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com! A stone of ancient legend. Word has it that this stone is so absurdly powerful, it could grant people anything they wanted. Riches, fame, power, reformation, creation of a new world, you name it! One who obtains this stone will earn such dominance. But such absurdity has its demerits. After all, it is just a legend, right? Who would even believe in the existence of such a miraculous object? DOES it even exist? As such, the legend of this seemingly magical stone entered the realm of being termed as myth. Anybody stating their dream was to find the Stone of Eclipse would be branded as a laughing stock. Society, culture, kingdoms, governments, religions, cults - all have some form of group whose works are driven based on the stone. Enter, Diavolo Signore and his friends, an ignorant trio who have been sent off from their home island to learn of the world, having seen potential, by their island chief.
